Depends on who I'm with + price. Example if I'm by myself a theater ticket is cheaper, but for a movie more than 2 people, $20 at home isn't bad. It also depends on if my nephew wants to watch it. If he does then I'll stay home since he has an issue not yelling/expressing himself and talking during movies xD

The fact that THIS movie is the movie that will be known for historically changing film distribution, toppling the theater industry or forcing it to change beyond what we know it as today, is so damn funny to me.
A sequel based off of little toys from the 80s that mostly aims at 7 year olds changed history. Your grandkids may learn about that movie when they learn about the pandemic.
What makes it even better for me personally is that the Mcelroy brothers fought to be a cameo in it and the movie they worked so hard to be part of is history.
My complaint with this movie is that they all come together at the end to sing pop music. The movie was about embracing different genres of music and then at the end everyone just sings a shitty pop song
that irked the hell out of me also, i was waiting for it to split off into some other genres at the end but alas it didnt, all that preaching and they turned into exactly what they were fighting against.
It's not a feasible price for single people, but if you're a parent like me, $20 is about what I would pay going to the theater with my kid. And I'm sure is an even bigger money saver for people with multiple family members.

This movie’s message was absolutely perfect. The message being that people have different “music” (opinions) and that you shouldn’t ban them, because they can work in harmony (free speech). Also, the villain’s aim was globalization and violation of free speech, so that was great that they failed.

OMG Drive in theaters YES!! I do like that these movies introduces some iconic music to the little ones. It’s a great way to get them to associate at their age in a appropriate way. I enjoyed them both can watch the 1st one over and over no problem 🤷🏼♀️

4:12 the movie in this pic is a Brazilian neo-western thriller released in 2019 called Bacurau, it explores themes about the growing uncertainties and fears of our country in relation to the quasi-fascist imperalist-loving Bolsonaro government, being set in a near future, in the northeastern region of Brazil (where I live), which is the only region that was completely against Bolsonaro. It's an amazing movie from beginning to end, it was a hit here in Brazil, even Bong Joon Ho watched it. I'm saying this bc you non-Brazilian people should watch it too if you haven't already, seriously, go watch Bacurau, it's really good. And if you do, don't forget to also do some research about the madness that's going on here.

I’ve straight up cried like a baby about this. Movie theater was always there for me no matter what, I never thought in a hundred years they would go down for one day. I feel guilty that this is the thing I care about during all this, but it is Idk what to tell ya. I was seeing 3 movies a week at AMC every week for like two or three years until two months ago.
They need to just release new mutants this way. I'm sorry, but the x men franchise doesn't have the greatest reputation and it has gone through so many reshoots that I don't think it'll make much in a traditional theater. But I really want to see it.
Dreamworks animation is such a hit or miss for me, but I am always rooting for them. They have made so many great films that in my opinion, don't get the recognition they deserve, but it is always a bit frustrating when I see them ringing out the films they think will make them money. An article I read on Deadline Hollywood speaks about major concerns among cinema chains as to how an employee at concession should operate the popcorn popper with gloves on. Should he/she/they get burned, that poses a serious health risk. To add onto that, what are cinema chains doing to make sure that any employee upon reopening is liable for protection should they get infected by a customer, another employee, or a manager? Should those theaters re-open, following guidelines from states and the CDC, the general movie-going public and its currently laid-off employees need to know if they are going to be protected from infection. The world's two largest theater chains have a big responsibility to do this. Instead, AMC and Regal/Cineworld decided to take jabs at Universal for providing stressed parents/families with kids a fun, little diversion during a pandemic that's costing lives. Blocking all future Universal movies is downright petty. Think about it - next year the world's largest theater chain will refuse to show potentially billion-dollar grossing films like Minions and Fast and Furious. Keep in mind, AMC is mad at Universal for a theatrical model that is becoming outdated while they almost had to declare BANKRUPTCY protection. Luckily, they recieved a $500M liquidity loan from the federal government. Oh, and AMC has been known for being one of the dirtiest cinema chains in America. Weeks later, AMC acquired them. The quality of service and maintenance has dipped under AMC. This isn't the first time AMC or Regal have employed these shady business practices. It limits consumer's right to choose what they want to see. This is what's happening now between AMC and Universal. Meanwhile, Alamo Drafthouse announced new cleaning procedures, getting equipment, and retraining employees to clean thoroughly for the safety of all moviegoers. They're not even reopening in Texas right now, despite Governor Greg Abbott asking nonessential businesses like theaters to reopen. All things considered, AMC CEO Adam Aron needs a reality check. Times are changing in the exhibition world, but so is the need for families to be safe and entertained. Adam Aron needs to put himself in the shoes of the people he serves. Families are struggling right now - many of them don't know when their next paycheck is. My experience working at a local Regal in a primarily minority/urban area made me aware of the amount of Latino families who frequent at the movies; I'm sure they're in financial trouble right now. Having an upbeat, positive distraction like Trolls: World Tour is something families need right now. If AMC and Regal/Cineworld REALLY cared about their business, they would do well to think less on profit and more on public safety. Until then, I'm not stepping foot in a theater until they can prove I won't get infected.

I like some of themes that may of slipped under the radar in this movie. The Princess on her Rock Crusade was talking about making everyone like them. I mean that is just the British Empire (or any other colonial empire) going we're better than you now do as we do.

The issue was resolved and all the knock-off Trolls dolls disappeared. But it killed te Troll craze over night. In 2005 a revival called "Trollz" was attempted but failed. On 2013 the Trolls brand was brought by Dreamworks from Dam Things and now they own "Trolls" everywhere but their home country of origin. Trolls *is* a franchise, though the original Troll dolls are called "Good Luck Trolls", and its one of the oldest franchises there is. Dreamwork brought it as a franchise, they haven't made it into one.

If AMC and Regal/Cineworld REALLY cared about their business, they would do well to think less on profit and more on public safety. Until then, I'm not stepping foot in a theater until they can prove I won't get infected.

We still have a drive in theatre in my home town, it’s not open but they still have it because they aren’t allowed to tear it down.

okay but why are the kpop trolls separate from pop? poppy uses gangnam style in her pop mashup in the country trolls' land - how is gangnam style pop but kpop is not included within the pop kingdom??? i found that so confusing lool but i like that they got an actual kpop group to voice the kpop trolls, and one of them will be voicing poppy in the korean dub!

Honestly i really love with what DW did to the Trolls design wise, they look cute and charming. I like some of themes that may of slipped under the radar in this movie. The Princess on her Rock Crusade was talking about making everyone like them. I mean that is just the British Empire (or any other colonial empire) going we're better than you now do as we do.

The companies can make more money by never showing films in theatres, thanks to Netflix, and other on-line services.
Makes me wonder why people bother with the cinema. But then again... I only go myself because its time spent with my mother, and a cinema is set up to show a movie at its full potential.
Also this movie was successful and made in 3 weeks more money then Trolls1 did in 5 months... So...

Trolls was always a franchise.
It was created in the 1960s by Thomas Dam and his company Dam things. In the late 80s the Trolls were brought to America and sold by Russ. Unfortunately due to copyright issue a lot of fakes were produced. The issue was resolved and all the knock-off Trolls dolls disappeared. But it killed te Troll craze over night. In 2005 a revival called "Trollz" was attempted but failed. On 2013 the Trolls brand was brought by Dreamworks from Dam Things and now they own "Trolls" everywhere but their home country of origin.
Trolls *is* a franchise, though the original Troll dolls are called "Good Luck Trolls", and its one of the oldest franchises there is.
Dreamwork brought it as a franchise, they haven't made it into one.

Trolls and Trolls world tour was fireeeee the graphics and animation I feel like gotten better in Trolls World Tour and i rented both movies and watched trolls 5 times in 2 days and trolls world tour 6 times in 2 days and i can def see a difference and to think trolls world tour didnt even cost as much as trolls they must be making a huge preofit good job Dreamworks and Universal
