Fascinating to watch. I have a similar one in my right forearm awaiting removal. Very painful. Can't play sports anymore until it's gone.

Great surgery indeed. Was the tumor growth due to trauma to the nerve in the forearm or other causes?

Thank you very much for this interesting video sir. I was interested to see how the tumour (I am from UK!) seemed to be regular in shape and to separate from other structures quite easily and cleanly as I was expecting more vasularity. I have read about these things in my working life yars ago but not seen one until now.

I may have one, but on my vagal nerve. I had 3 doctors tell me something different about it in the past 6-7 months.
It was an incidental finding on an abdominal CT scan. At first they thought it was on my thyroid and it measured 2.6 cm about June 2021.
Then it was 2.9 cm on an ultrasound and I was told it was a carotid artery paraganglioma. About 3 months ago. Now is 3.3 cm on my vagal nerve a couple of weeks ago.
I had to change providers recently because of insurance issues. I had surgery scheduled and had to cancel. Now, I'm worried because the delay and it seems to be growing.
I am going through the Veterans Administration Hospital which is holding me back. I had an outside provider but then an administrator decided that I needed to go to the VA for care if I want it to be paid for.
I do have NF1. Somehow I slipped through the system during my enlistment physical. I told them I had it, and I don't know how I got through. It is supposed to be disqualifying. Go figure 🤔.
Anyway I'm concerned about it. And my VA providers aren't giving me much feedback other than I have to start my care over again.
I did enjoy your video. I know it is a different procedure, because my tumor thingy is in my neck. It is somewhat similar.
I used to work in health care and think the human body is amazing. I have a lot of empathy for your patient. I hope his or her recovery went well. I only hope going forward that I'll have skilled surgeons to fix my problem.

Hello Doctor, Greetings to you from Oamaru. South island New Zealand.Question. about a fortnight ago at Dunedin Public hospital I spent 2 nites there. I had a cyst measuring 40 mm diameter removed from my r.h.s slightly lower mid neck. it was located on the Vagus nerve. since then I have lost around 75 to 80 of speech capacity and having symptoms of ticklish coff like a cold but not having a cold. Now question is can the recovery of speech be possible?, can the vagus nerve be joined back up since the cyst had grown into that nerve which has bee removed?.how dependent of a person on this nerve?cheers Carl gin
