Hi from Australia! I came across your sermon whilst looking for information on Genesis 41 for our home group. It was challenging and just showed us again how amazing God was with Joseph in the good and tough times. Thank you!
Sorry, but God does abandon and reject people even though He may always be there with you does not mean He will help you. Look at Saul, Samson, even Moses for all he did for the Hebrews and the Exodus, Moses made one small mistake of striking a rock instead of speaking to a rock to bring out water and God gave him the ultimate punishment and forbid him from entering the Promised Land even after everything Moses did for God and the Hebrews - that's not a "Loving or Merciful God" in my book.
Norman Carter, God demands perfection if you ever want to see his face in heaven. We know we are not perfect. But….the LORD is our Righteousness for those who believe in Christ’s atonement on the cross and who possess the Holy Spirit. The Old Testament shows us that we are sinners in desperate need of a savior. Our best efforts are as filthy rags in God’s sight. That’s why Christians REJOICE that Jesus came as a baby, lived the perfect life, took our sins on the cross, gave us His Righteousness, died and was buried, and rose again on the third day, and sits at the right hand of Almighty God the Father, and makes intercession for Christians every day. Moses was chosen by God to be a mighty leader for the Jewish nation. But even Moses only got a backward glance of the glory of God. Now, Moses is in Heaven with God seeing him face-to-face just like all who die in Christ. If you think God is unjust, it indicates you do not comprehend the Holiness of God, so I’m sending you a link to a well-known sermon series called The Holiness of God. It has helped people understand God’s Holiness, and changed their lives. www.ligonier.org/learn/series/holiness_of_god/the-trauma-of-holiness/
