It rains in SE Asia a lot in the rainy season. Life goes on. Wear clothes that dry easy, since it’s humid, too. Original paint was made from plants :) some people paint with plant materials on here. They're just not as stable. That said, for this paint to stick in the area it's at, it should be synthetic. The color and vibrancy aren't the tells.

@@bodybalancer The way that sap was dripping from the branch, she would've had to to stand there for days, making sure the cut didn't dry out in order to get an amount of paint enough to cover even one square on that floor. I'm pretty sure they faked some of this although it's technically possible. I mean, do you believe that this video was captured naturally in 1080p by the forest? I was born in the Philippines. I don't remember ever having made paint from green leaves and rubber tree sap. Normally you'd have to boil that sap down in order for it to be of any use as latex paint. Not to mention the fact that rubber latex isn't generally water soluble. Notice also that they didn't show her doing the roof all by herself. It's a nice thought but this video is totally contrived. I mean, doing this is possible but there are a lot of things that weren't accounted for. Where did she get the concrete mix? Did she burn up 500 kilios of shells for the lime? Did she really spend 9 hours straight carrying water from the river to the little pool to fill it up with that little earthenware jug?

Luckily now we have the tools to learn on our own. I say we start a learning program wherever this is and start getting everyone up to speed stat! Who’s with me 😻
But you do realize this is highly edited and simply made for a fun video, right? No doubt there were others there helping with actual tools and shovels, along with supplying cement and the paint, etc. But still a fun video.
I grew up poor, and our houses were made out of wood and zinc. When we were hit by hurricanes, the elders taught us how to built houses. I grew up poor too (actually still relatively poor) but dont know how to build proper housing to protect against hurricanes and natural disasters. Hopefully one day I can build a house like her and live off grid in a forest filled will lots of water and animals
I wish they would show all the other people helping her, it's not like we're going to think anything less of them because there were multiple people helping her build this.

No saw, no ladder, no gloves, no shoes.. she built this beautiful home.. and made paint. And respected the tree to patch it back up after the white tree paint. Best RUclips channel to date. She’s amazing.
That is so cool and an awesome project. Came out great and love the candles around the entrance. I would make a mattress out of feathers instead of sleeping on the wooden frame. As long as there is a waterfall nearby, then it's be even more peaceful and serene.
The fish will die without a source of oxygen, the pool will be a haven for misquotes, it will also fill with rainwater and ruin the foundation of the house as it softens everything since there is no overflow escape... yeah, lovely
I love how she doctored the tree with mud when she took some of its sap but ferociously snatched them leaves when they were the right kind of green to make paint 🤣
I felt the very same way. I was like ‘did the bush do something to her for her to treat it so rough?’ It warmed my heart to see her patch up the tree after collecting the sap.

Just so amazing and so pure. I've watched a couple of her videos and am always amazed at the talent she possesses. The world would be in such a better place if there were more like her. I also agree with the poster of the fact she patched up where she exposed and collected the sap.
When she covered up the spot on the tree that she was extracting sap from, it was like she gave it a band-aid. My heart melted a little. Her skill and respect for the land is profound.
I was thinking the same thing!
Agree

I think that bit was fake. She would’ve wrung the tree dry to get loads of sap to paint the pond and the “tiling” bit.
It touched my heart too.🤗
The act that she recovers the cut she put in the branch shows her real character!!!
And so does the act when she kidnapped those fish from their natural habitat for her own amusement or decorative reasons...

It rains in SE Asia a lot in the rainy season. Life goes on. Wear clothes that dry easy, since it’s humid, too. As a heavy, clumsy westerner, I have broken my share of cute bamboo bridges, steps and chairs. That’s all I see when I look at most of these wonderful creations, is that I’m the proverbial bull in the China shop.

Interesting. This was at around 3 mins 45 secs. Pop music makers know this as the optimal time frame to brainwash as people lose attention after that.

But it’s no less inspirational! Nor does that fact negate my feelings that I could do more on any given day. :) Carpe Diem, RUclips friends!
Lazy and OLD! 🤣

This is hella inspiring, the things our human bodies are capable of are insane. Granted she definitely had years of passed experience, but to have the initiative to go out and get shit done is impressive.

I'm amazed at how strong she must be mentally, emotionally, and physically to do such an incredible job!
several survival instructors have said that determination to not quit is key, knowledge of all the natural things around you is another.
I've seen a primitive survival skills channel do it with a axe he made and a sharp rock as the bit.
She has a team of male workers which do most of the work behind the scenes, that's how these shows work...
@@sonomute um y did u include "male"? And how do you know they are male?
You people are so gullible on the internet .....yall really believe she really put all this together by herself, does it bring peace and comfort to think that way??
@@meseretbenti6258 Maybe because i'm responding to a comment of a woman who's amazed how strong another woman is to build a house which she obviously didn't build? How do i know they are male? U r right, i don't know that for sure, but all my experience tells me that 99.99% of people involved in construction ARE male...So yes, I'm just assuming things, if you can prove me wrong please do, lol.
WELL, I just learned that you can make paint using leaves..
nah, by the color you can tell its fake, its not a natural green, it looks synthetic.
Damn invention
Definitely synthetic. Not natural chlorophyll I’m that plant she used. Little too far fetched. This still has to take her a few weeks to build that house I’m sure. Just like it took her more then a. Day to fill that moat around her house uo with water the way she was doing it.
@@XXX1NELSON1XXX Yeah there are many things they omit from the building. It's nice looking and impressive even to be able to do all that, but all of the wood is sawed, the white paint with the green etc. I'm guessing the fish were bought, the ditches were dug with machinery or at least shovels.
Original paint was made from plants :) some people paint with plant materials on here. They're just not as stable.
That said, for this paint to stick in the area it's at, it should be synthetic. The color and vibrancy aren't the tells.
Can we talk about the balance that she has. These people are so smart it’s bananas ❤
You are doing such important work keeping bushcraft traditions alive! What a beautiful build. ❤

She was really like this place needs some color and made her own paint okay
Yeah she totally made that paint from crushed leaves. Try that at home.
Right! I'm impressed
Yeah but I've smushed up leaves before but never got paint like her. Really? Is this for real?
@@annettelemmer9649 i think she also used the white sap we saw her drain, that would make the green from the leaves pop like that, & give it sticky bonding power. I was confused too at first like how did crushed leaves.... but then i remembered seeing the sap 😜

The wound to the tree is an invitation for pests and disease. Pruning young shoots isn’t such a big deal to a plant.
