I'll never forget, I had a 2016 Jetta Sport manual. I got it new and around 25k miles never had an issue and the clutch always felt like it was new. I went to a casino/hotel over the weekend and when I got my car back you can smell the clutch and also the pedal travel sucked....complained to the hotel and even though someone said it looked like whoever drove it struggled to drive it they were not at fault. Talked to a family lawyer and they even said it's difficult to prove as it's a wearable item.

I remember when I was 15 my friend got his first car, D16 JDM swapped civic. He let me drive it because he was 15 and I actually had my license, I told him, "What if we took of in 3rd"?? We tried it. Smoked the clutch, 15 years later, I drive an S54 swapped sedan, he told me, take off in 3rd like you did on my civic, I tried it, it struggled a little, but after 5mph it had enough power to grab and took off like nothing 🤣.

Very nice explanation. I've personally never smoked one or money shifted, thank god, but I've learned alot over the last 30 yrs of driving manuals and I can tell you I'm still not perfect. Sometimes getting the perfect blip for rev matching can prove a challenge. Thanks for the upload. 👍

Biggest factor of clutch kills-> heat! Ridding the clutch, dropping the clutch, extended revved engagement
First sign i had on my civic, fifth gear slippage when engaging

Is there any electric component in the clutch system?
There’s nothing happening when I press the clutch and of course I can’t get into gears .
Is there a fuse or cable to check?
My gmac 6500 didn’t move for 2 years.
Before that: there was no issue eith it.
What can I test or do?

So, how can someone drive their car without actually using the clutch? And why is double clutching even a thing except in big trucks?

It's call floating gears, you can fall out of gears by letting off the throttle and if you can match engine episodes with the speed for the correct gear you cal float into that gear without grinding.

@@chrissantos7865 I actually did this when I was training with a truck company. Had a hard time getting my double clutch right, so I said screw it and didn’t clutch.
