The Market have been suffering over the past month, with all the three indexes recording losses in recent weeks. My $400,000 portfolio is down by approximately 20%, any recommendations to scale up my returns before retirement will be highly appreciated.

Inspirational story! I’m 39 and currently stuck in a corporate job that I have no passion for and hate. Pay isn’t great, and working with all boomers who are literally at the age of retirement. Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

I would only invest funds in it that you are willing to lose or don't need.

The openness here was beautiful. I am so sorry to hear the H&M story, and genuinely feeling upset having heard it. As a business lawyer (although I practice in Canada, and can't help you in the US), I strongly encourage you to speak with a lawyer about your story, if you haven't already. If what you said is true, being forced to "admit" to falsities, being publicly degraded and dragged out of the story in handcuffs, not to mention serving a sentence, being arrested, and all the legal atrocities here, plus the mental health implications you likely still experience. If you haven't already, please speak with a lawyer about this. Your story matters, and it seems that you may be able to afford good legal help now. I work with many successful people, and so many have that one wound that plagues them, no matter how successful they are. You are young, and it's ok if the H&M story still mentally affects you, having been kicked out of college, etc., but you don't, and didn't, deserve any of that. You may have been embarrassed to share your story - don't be embarrassed to seek legal help!

Putting well-earned money into the stock market can’t be over emphasized for first - time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I am working on a ballpark estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a good 6-figure loaded up for this, could there be any opportunity for a boomer like me? I'm nearly 60.
Sincerely it's best to seek an advisor right now, unless you're canny yourself. As a business owner in both the service industry and eBay reseller of all product categories, I can tell you we’re in a deep recession and everyone is running out of money
Very true, people downplay advisors role, until burnt by their mistakes. I remember just after my layoff early 2020 amidst covid outbreak, I needed to stay afloat, hence researched for license advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge, and decades of experience, my stagnant reserve of $325K has yielded nearly $1m after subsequent investments so far.

You really didn’t go through much thou… however you lived doing what you felt passionate about.. Someone told me when you do that it doesn’t feel like work and the money will come. I see that in your story.
Your story really inspires me to do the same thing and change my life, I've always wanted to be wealthy and be able to give back to the community. However, I was raised in a low-income home with a disabled mother and no father as well with and taking care of her and a lifetime seizures. Was a little hard as well growing up in New Mexico with all the gang issues and drug problems, thankfully I stayed on the right path and served in the military as a US Marine. Hoorah! Any who after I got out I have had many struggles, similar debt and now no car and no savings and a deadbeat job with still no degree in game designing. It really is demoralizing, feeling like all your efforts are for others gain and continuing to suffer. Failed marriage as well and now I'm just back home now with my mom because of her mental health is deteriorating and I had to leave Hawaii (my military duty station) to trying to find the same thing and with your channel i hope to reach my goals of being wealthy and able to be stable. Currently had to surrender my car and basically throw everything to the side for my mom and my financial situation so if any time is better for a change its now. I truly thank you for the inspiring videos and great information. I hope to one day make it big on the World Series of Poker, Twitch/RUclips as a content creator, and become a game designer and learn how to make passive income like you online during the road. Again, thank you for this and keep up the grind, and for everyone else, never give up your dreams!

Im 42 and Im far from where you are… but you are the proof that when you encounter an obstacle, never give up because you are getting closer to your goal. I'm also 42 and have dreamed of having a successful business for years but always seemed to get pulled in different directions over the years.. now, with a baby boy, I am more motivated than ever and working harder than I ever have towards my goals, hearing someone say they hope to be a millionaire one day, is exactly how I feel, but so few people in my circle understand this. But it's obviously possible, so many people do it.. and there are many ways to do it, the hardest part is figuring out what will ultimately get you there, ... it's inspiring to hear from you and Josh say that, and I know if we put in the work, anyone can achieve it if we really want it.
