I already got a different bit set because my iFixit set’s shank length wasn’t enough to fix my Switch Pro Controller, so it’s very nice to see the LTT one defaults to longer
The magnetized tray seems to be some magnetic tape stuck to it, so might be easy to DIY. For me the LTTs driver seems great (bit storage and stronger magnet). It does look like you can order the driver saperately, so mix and match might be an option. Longer bits however also might be a positive.
How does the torque-ability of ltt precision compare? I have an old pro tech toolkit, and the 4 mm precision driver was quite a bit bigger and has a better design imo. I can get much more oomf from it Compared to the new one in my manta set. I'd be interested in swapping that one out if the LTT was more like ifixits old driver.
I only have the iFixit driver that comes in the Mako Driver Kit to compare to (outside of some cheap, Chinese bit sets from Amazon), but I imagine that you could get a more torque from a larger driver. The LTT driver is a tad shorter than the driver included in the Mako kit. The knurling on the LTT driver is nice and grippy, but not sharp.
Similar to the iFixit Mako Driver Kit (which is featured in the video) the LTT bit case has 4 magnets in the corners on the back. Not sure if those are sufficient to magnetize onto the iFixit Tech Pro kit, but the magnets on the LTT bit case are likely not designed for that use case. Your milage may vary.
No it won't stick to the roll, I think that's what you mean. I tried with mine the back doesn't have the magnetic layer but you can get magnetic stickers and apply one so if that's something you want it's deff doable. The ltt is smaller tho so it doesn't roll as cleanly.
You can get them together for a $ discount but it's still still more expensive than the ifix it equivalent. It's definitely not competing on value but most ltt stuff tends to be a bit more expensive. @@noslo1098
How did you already recieve one? They weren't originally supposed to ship until Sept 30th. New orders are shipping October 30th. Orders on the site went live on the 7th. Was there a pre-pre-order? Also thanks for the review. Glad I purchased one (even though I don't have it yet).
Glad help out with a review! I ordered mine the second it went live on the site, so I must have been an early order number to ship now. I don't recall seeing the shipping notice when I ordered 🤷♂️ Hopefully you get yours soon!
@@CamsReviewsAndBuilds yeah i guess i got lucky too i just ordered the screw driver and mine came in a few days ago actually im probably gonna pick up the bit set once those go back in stock just so i can have another driver around the house but right now i just replaced the ifixit one
So the ifixit CEO is outright calling LMG / Linus a design thief. Other than a black body and case lid that can hold screws; do you think this is true?
How many ways is there to make a screwdriver? Are there design similarities? Sure. But I don't think it is outright copy as LTT has seen to improve/made a different product overall. Take this opinion with a grain of salt, I am not a patent lawyer or am I at all familiar with copyright laws. IFixit has their own realm of products that LTT might never get to, and Linus has said they won't be an IFixit competitor. The LTT tools are just another option in the market.
There is nothing unique about the Ifixit precision driver, as far as I can tell. They need to be small, hold bits properly, and rotate at the other end.
Literally the first person I've seen to review it!
I've seen a few, but they ALL spend 1/2 their damn videos self-congratulating themselves for getting one early. This is by far the best one so far.
Still one of the only reviews; and not upset about it! High quality review! Thank you! Looking forward to seeing future videos
Thanks, glad you liked it!

I bought this the the it came out and i just got it and it's pretty good so far
It's essentially magnetized tray v screwdriver extension.

I might actually buy one given it fits in the ifixit case
Just waiting for LTT Drill, LTT Grinder, LTT ShopVac, LTT Espresso Machine, LTT Radio, LTT Saw, LTT Blower, LTT Pressure Washer, LTT....
Thank you for the review. Popping you a sub, hope you get some more attention from this :D
Much appreciated!

Good video. Thanks for the review
Thanks for watching!
Apologies for the autofocus issues!
Does the back of the LTT case have a magnet/metal to magnetize onto the iFixit Tech Pro kit?
good question

I got my iFixit precision for $30, what's the LTT set cost?
Just saw that it is double the price I paid for iFixit and also 2 individual items that may not be available together...

Is the size of the bit engraved on the side of the bit?
I checked before ordering and yes they do. You can see multiple examples on the LLT Store website.
@@Louis-AlexandreDuchesneau Thank you!
Can confirm that the sizers are engraved on the side!

@@CujobobI have a driver from. KNAFS with external but storage and it's verry similar, slightly shorter but it has the bearing spinner.
