This video just changed my life. Like for reals. I stumbled upon being a website designer by accident when I got my own travel blog up and running, and needed to learn how to create a website BEFORE taking down the old one. BOOM! I can't thank you enough
I'm in the same boat - trying to learn how to create a new website before taking down the old one and I've never done this before. Was it easy to migrate? I keep hearing horror stories.

Another greta helpful video. I'm planning on using Local by Flywheel as I'm getting more website redesign projects so this will come in handy as not to interrupt the current live site.
Hey, Jeffrey! I am new to Wordpress and I would like to ask some questions. 1) In order to practice wordpress and elementor for free without the need of hosting and domain is this the only way possible using Local? 2) If I make a website in Local and I decide to publish it will I be able to do it and how? I guess I'll need to export the files from Local and somehow place them in the wordpress website?
Just thought of something - you mentioned installing Elementor. I have the Pro version of Elementor but only a 3-site license. Will installing Elementor on a local site count as one of my sites?
thank you! thank you! I'm a bit nervous to do this. I've heard horror stories that if we don't "stage" it right, we'll lose important URL stuff from our old website? do you do any one-on-one calls?
Backups are your best friend! As long as you have back ups you don’t need to fear. I migrated sites several times a week and never lost a URL. I wouldn’t worry about it. Just make sure anytime you migrate to flush your permalinks by going to the dashboard > settings > permalinks and save it s few times. Don’t change anything there, only hit this save button a few times. This will flush the permalinks and fix URLs
@@LytboxStudio do you have a paid course on how to do this step by step, from beginning to getting it live, for newbies? I'd pay! This is my first time working with someone else's website. My original plan was to slowly add one thing at a time (like a video here and there) without staging -- is that possible or should I stage anyway?
Thanks man! You can do most of the onsite and on page optimizations on your local and map out your url structure. But when you migrate back to the live site id go over the url structure 2-3x making sure the urls updated from the local url to the domain. Flush permalinks usually takes care of this but still, I’d triple check and then ping Google for indexing.
Thank you for the tutorial. Please I tried opening the site and also clicking on the wp admin, but it keeps telling me “This site can’t be reached”. Do you know what might be the problem

I was just about to ask about the migration when you mentioned that you’ll cover it in the next video. I’m guessing it’s not the same as migrating a live host site to another live host with some plugin 😅
Haha it actually is lol. I use All In One Migrate for all of it, live to live and local to live. It’s been a reliable solution I’ve used for years now.
@@robertbamm7226 that’s it. Keep it simple and straight forward. Only thing is we need to make sure the emails in Elementor are updated (in the forms and where there’s mailto:email@email.com)

Elementor doesn’t count your license for local sites. When you connect your Pro license, it automatically detects the .local As long as you have 1 pro license, you can add to as many Local sites as you like
Turn on the one-click-admin and you'll have access to your back end and can change your password then. You'll also set up you password and email when adding a new site. And there's an option to open WP Admin
Is this on your live site or the local host? Thai happens when the /wp-admin is changed for security purposes. If on Local By Flywheel, select on one click admin access.
Yes, you can use anything Wordpress. Also, if you are using Elementor Pro, using the local will count against the number of site license. Elementor detects the .local url and knows it’s a testing environment
@@LytboxStudio "A MUST" Really looking forward to that, as it would be beneficial for us NOOBS to get started as you said. Finding your tuts super useful.
