Most likely they was not attacking the car but they were protesting for black people's lives to stop being harmed by police and the driver happened to arrive at the protest. The driver could've used common sense and logic by using his car horn to get their attention and ask protestors to move out of the way so he can get to whatever he needs to go to but instead the driver used his car (vehicle) as a weapon to run over people potentially seriously hurting them or worse killing them and you here are praising the driver for the heinous act. There is an individual with grey bottoms and dark jacket banging on the front passenger window of the car, another individual wearing grey with black prrotective vest and black head covering is grabbing at the door handle to one of the rear doors and another individual wearing all black with a mask is trying to stop the car by standing right in front of it. What were these individuals intentions? Why are they harassing lone women? It seems that a certain section of society in USA think they are completely exempt from the law, consequences to their actions, culpability for causing dangerous situations and are incapable of being decent human beings.
Any driver should legally be able to do exactly the same thing to protect themselves from intimidating and potentially dangerous individuals. Clear case of self defence.

@Jon Taylor It could be the other way round actually, it could be that the car had been getting very close to the protesters in an attempt to overtake them. There is no evidence to assume that the pedestrians deliberately tried to get close to the car, it could quite easily be that the car driver did not use enough caution and was pushing their vehicle through the crowd and getting very close to them. I think that is equally as likely
