The actual reason is because the signer cards focus on what's important to the person. Jack wants to destroy what gets in his way, Yusei wants to protect what's close to him, and Crow's signer is about preserving his resources which we see take a more serious role in Arc-V. Watch the Crow vs Shay duel for more context (episodes 81 and 82)

The ATK Reduction is applied by the counters, not the cost to gain the counters, so yeah it gets to block Burn as much as it wants

@@vyrax401 Honestly, modern BW lines often have him on the field for at least a while during which they trigger various archetypal self-burn effects, which I believe is also how Crow used the dragon in 5D's: he didn't just endure four activations of the Blood Mefist but also added onto it himself.

I found it funny that you specified it being limited, seeing as the number of copies doesn't matter. I cracked a joke over using 2 verte due to this.
