This was honestly one of the best all stars casts ever, honestly if they didn’t have to compete for that shoddy prize and the elimination order wasn’t nuts then it could have been a top tier season.

they do the promo after or during the season.
Nope! They typically don't know who will be on the show... Unless they tell one another, like for example according to Trixie Mattel; Her and BenDelaCreme both knew the other was going to be on All Stars 3 because they were working together around the time casting calls went out and subtly asked each other if they were 'taking time off'.
Promo is usually done a couple months after filming ends but in some recent seasons they have done it after they finish filming the finale so they won't have to fly them out twice in covid times
