Those long rows of firewood bring great joy to me - I've had some nice rows but nothing like that.
Thanks!
Glad to hear the truck is finally close to being ready. I know you and Chaz have waited a long time. Can’t wait to see the loads of logs coming to the wood yard. 👍
The pad turned out great. You may have to extend it a little where the driveway meets the pad. Good luck and stay safe.
The yard looks much better.
I have been looking for a break in the rain myself. When I do get a break in the rain, it is too muddy to work in the wood yard.
Good video my friend
Thank you
Good looking cherry.and the gravel looks great.nice Brad
Gotta watch your tip now 😂😂😂😱 pad looks awesome bro. Monsoon season is correct!
You need a bench to saw on, plus a sawdust bin underneath.
Brad, looking good 👍 in the neighborhood as they say another great video 😮😊❤
Lot looks good Brad! Turned out really nice and already being put to use in the not so good weather. Softball season is in full swing!! We’ve been rained out once this week already 👎🏻
Little Red and the dump trailer looks good there buddy!
Rain here too…I was curious what your plans was for the wood chips👍🏻🇺🇸👏🏻
Looking Brad, getting ready for ton more rain here in Illinois
Thats not good...
Have you ever used a leaf vacuum to pickup the saw chips? I was considering trying it.
Good stuff Brad. Pad looks great after six inches of rain. Did many of the rocks blow or move when blowing off saw dust ?
Pad’s lookin great! 👍🏻Great idea to blow it off everyday. Like you said, took three minutes. Curious to the reason you went with the bigger chain on the 261. Bummer bout the motor in the grapple truck. Hope everything else is good and there no more troubles. Take care Brad!👍🏻
I changed the 261 over so that all my saws would have the same file size for sharpening. Plus I have a boat load of 20" 3/8 chains laying around. I'll give it a go and see how I like it long term. Thanks for stopping by buddy
@@FirewoodattheFurnace makes sense. Thought maybe you bought a spool of it. Been thinking about doing that myself.👍🏻
Brad, videos B4 I read many comments on a French drain to remove water in certain areas. Was a drain system put in place on the upgrade? I suggested removing dirt at the fingers of each row and putting gravel....when I look at this video that may have helped? Keith
Did you see the video I tagged you in Of my wood yard when it gets Flooded
Just did...WOW
Now that you have gravel base, you need a bucking station more than ever. Just something to think about...
Do you mean a table like the firewood log rack used by Sawing with Sandy? He puts logs on to cut and the splitter is behind him.
That saw can eat, it makes short work what ever you put it to.
That Easton made is nice but they sure seem to produce a lot of scrap and waste a lot of wood.
The real test will be once you’ve produced 100 full cords on the pad when you go to clean up all the mulch, hopefully it holds up.
🇷🇺 Приветствую "больших бородатых лесорубов" . Хороший набор техники для заготовки дров. 👏👏👏
Congratulations on the pad working out for you, I had little doubts that wouldn't. Can't wait to see this grapple truck 😊
Thanks 👍
Definitely don’t want to hit those rocks. Pad looks great though. If I let you run my Makita the 500i will feel like the 261 😂
Morning Brad , the work pad is very nice . Glad the grapple truck is running !!
Me too!
I switched out the sprocket on my 261 to run 3/8 chain about 2 years ago. Run a 20" bar on both that and my 462.
Really happy I went that route. I carry 4 spare chains when I go out in the woods, and now don't have to worry about whether I dull chains from hitting rocks / dirt on one particular saw since they both run the same 3/8 chain and same bar length.
The 261 has enough power to run that setup just fine.
1000% better then ankle deep mud! The grapple truck has just been one nightmare and hopefully it can get in servive soon and start earning it's keep! Was that a D.O.T. roadside scale set up behind you at the end of video?😂
HI THERE I FEEL YOUR PAIN ON THE RAIN , GOOD SHOW ,BEST TO ALL JOHN
To avoid the rocks and help with cleaning up the wood chips, would it be helpful to put down industrial rubber mats in the area where you will be doing the most cutting?
Just wondering Brad, did I miss who won the moisture meter ? RO GA LA!!!
I use a Kubota 008 with a thumb to hold logs waist high to cut them and move the logs around. That was an expensive little machine but I have been looking at these Chinese excavators starting at about 5k. There are dozens of RUclips videos on them and honestly they are fine for what we do. With a small thumb excavator you could pick up the logs and hold them over the grass and cut them when it is dry saving you the hassle of blowing the chips off.
Hooefully all the stuff is done with the truck and you can get some use out of it.
Great video, glad that the new pad is working out👍🏻
I converted my 261 to run 3/8 chain long ago. I think it runs faster than stock, as long as I keep a sharp chain that the rakers are not too aggressive.
Brad you need a 32” bar , STAND UP BUCKIN . 😊 went cut plastic tote should cut them level or square look 👀 better on your u tube channel Brad . Hey 👋 look 👀 SALE in a wood 🪵 yard . Lol
I tried a 32" bar early on and it ran fine, but was bar heavy. like the 25" as an all around saw better.
Brad, your doing a great job man. Nice work with the pad, it's coming together very nice. Step by step, looking good man.
The stone pad looks great Brad and hopefully the stone stays in place when you use the leaf blower!
