May God bless these people immensely. This should become the norm. Hope their business grows and expands worldwide.
I agree with you....this is will help whole human population.
Can't agree more. Things like this have to become norm everywhere.
Absolutely
Ameen
Why don't you use banana leave? It is more profitable and easy.
Now that is the kind of product we desperately need to help save the environment! I hope more products like this will come next year
for every westerner that hinders their life protecting the enviroment, there are 100 indians and chinese burning coal for fun.
@@EyeTry203 Obviously developing cities need to be made aware too and we should try our best to stop them from burning too much of it.
@@EyeTry203 Get off your high horse, the per capita carbon footprint of westerners is several times that of any developing country. If anyone's burning coal "for fun", it's first-world countries.
@@germsspices false. China and India contribute 100x more than the west. The entire west coukd go green and it wouldnt make a difference if China and India dont change
@@SC-mf1gc I said per capita. China and India are infamous for their large pollution output, as a country, primarily because they also have nearly 40% of the world population, whereas the US has a carbon footprint only second to China despite having less than a quarter of the population. You can blame other countries all you want, but if your solution for the environment is for poor people to stay poor, that's pretty darn hypocritical and unsolvable.
We need to subsidize sustainable packaging and food containers. The idea of a circular economy is wonderful and needs to spread to more places.
If you are interested in circular economies I would highly recommend reading Cradle To Cradle by Michael Braungart and William McDonough. A life changing book that gets you thinking about how we design things
Totally agree..
😁
This is how we did for nearly all of human history until the 1950s, then all of a sudden we forgot how human society was built.
@ Kevin - Couldn’t agree more 👍🏻
I truly see this business being really successful. Like one day the entire world could be using plates like this.
ain't going to work at posh function. plates made of glass are recyclable but this technology is good for starbucks and all those single use items

The greedy in America continuously brainwash people who cannot think for themselves. They then convince the ignorant that ideas which are good for the planet are bad for jobs. Title: Plates that grow plants
Comments: Jokes about eAtInG tHe pLaTe
This is amazing, we need those here in the Philippines.
South Indians - Hold my Banana leaves.
But those stuff are like recycled so instead of wasting em they made plates, (like banana leaves(?))
@@hay0099 south Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala traditionally use Banana leaves for marriages and functions. After one is done eating it is disposed off. We generally have an abundance of it. Now people use plates for food but for traditional functions it is the leaves. It is large so it is easy to eat
Almost all part of the world where banana plants can grow easily would have that use of banana leaves.
Even lotus leaves and another plants leaves are stitched to make plates. But in this documentary they aren't taking the fresh produce, but they are recycling plant waste from factories. Usually such waste goes to the land fill but not anymore, they are now plates that can be used once more. Yup.
Well, in Colombia we use banana leaves too, interesting
This is definitely a step in the right direction!!
This is so amazing! I hope they get more recognition and more major companies start making these. One step at a time, right? 😊🇮🇳 I’d definitely buy them if I ever got the chance

You can literally plant the heads of the pineapple and it will grow.
They got those pineapple heads from a local processing center so they have a ton of it and planting them one by one will just make a pineapple farm. And it will just make more pineapples and the cycle repeats.
Techs come fast. All brands should consider new techs to develop and innovate their products.
can you elaborate more on this? what do you mean by "techs"?
@Grimblo right, im aware of the abbreviation. Just wanted you to elaborate on what you meant. Is it like one of those pointless platitudes like "I wish for world peace" or "sexual assault is bad"? "Companies should employ methods that increase revenue with modern business practices." "Obvious statement"
@@metaslavegaming9075 Technologies are you stupid

Soon pineapple sellers will sell these crowns, mark my words.
And the plates are gonna be more expensive than before.
But aren’t the plates free advertising for pineapple producers?

WOAH!!!! this is *AMAZING*
It’s nice to see things like this but it’s still to expensive for many people to actually use these
2:43 So I guess they haven't fully figured out how to do without plastic then.
It's the packaging SOP for hygienic purpose to get your product in store shelves. It seems there is hardly any shops that sell things in their big container where we should fill the items we wish into our own jars and bottles brought from home.

What's the better option? There is still no material that is transparent, thin and just strong enough to be a wrapping material that id eco-friendly, so maybe think of another solutions? Or just invent something yourself instead kf complaining.
There is a plastic like enzymes derived from the cactus. They're attempting make water bottles It'll take a while before its practiced globally. It'll be sweet though, everything so sufficent.
