  • An African Myth about the Origin of the Sun and the Moon
    Once upon a time a long time ago there lived a man and a woman who loved each other. One day they had a quarrel, and a man walked away in a fury. He was walking for a very long time, and as he reached the horizon, he turned into the Sun. As the time passed, the woman started missing her beloved and decided to embark on a journey to find him. She went straight to the sky and turned into the Moon. Along the way she scattered some grains from her jug, and they turned into stars.
    They have been searching for each other for many millennia, but they are not destined to be together...
