- Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand has backed the call from numerous state and federal politicians to raise the social media age limit to 16 years old.
“It’s been an absolute force for destruction right across the globe, particularly in the west, and I think it has really harmed politics, I think it has harmed public life,” Mr Hildebrand told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“I’ve seen it do harm to adults who have got hides as tough as rhinoceroses … this is no place for children.”
It’s parents responsibility to protect their children from harmful social media. Under 14 years should not give them mobile phones, internet at home should have parental locks and timers, in schools the responsibility of the teachers and those schools management while they must use computers and internet. 😌
Why should I have to give up my right to privacy because parents can't or won't take responsibility for THEIR children 🤔
To much government over reach yet again in the name of protecting us.This topic the responsibility of parents! Maybe more responsible parenting is in order!
Never was a headline, so true!
Big brother taking over parent’s responsibilities- disgusting
Too much of anything is no good.
So feels like we’re going back in time on the Elon censorship thing , , what next ? Sensor the sex Pistols , AC-DC home of Melbourne , this is a joke , you have the right to believe your better than us but that doesn’t mean you are better than us or anyone,
How about the govt stop trying to be a parent & more parents actually become parents; teachers become actual teachers, first. Oh learn what discipline, boundaries & open discussion is all about with kids
Doubt they will ban it, who's going to enforce this?
