Lessons From the Light Point Chapter 4: Part 2 Identity

Who are you?
We have a God- given identity but often times we based out understanding of self of characteristics that can't hold the weight of who God has created you to be. You are not what people think of you, you are not even what you think of yourself. Your identity is in who God says you are- the imago dei- an image bearer. We have to constantly retrain our mind to understand that We are who God says we are. We must meditate on that until we believe it. You can claim an identity all day but your actions will expose you. We don’t just behave in alignment with what we know, we behave in alignment with what you believe. So who are you? Your identity isn’t defined by what you do, that's why God can accept you as his child even though you’re a sinner. But your actions will reveal who you really believe you are. It is only when we find alignment with how we identify ourselves and how God identifies us that we can live free
