Oh Wow! 🎉 I haven't been to the circus since I was a little girl, and it was Ringling Bros back then. Thank you both for taking me back to my childhood. ❤❤ Now that Ringling is back, I can finally take my son to the "real" circus!!!! Again, thank you both! And special thanks to Ringling Bros for returning. 👏👏👏 Hugs 🤗 and God bless 🙏
I said to myself..."I'm not about to watch this long ssa circus video" and what did I do? Watch that long ssa circus video and LOVED IT! I actually started looking up ticket prices and seeing where I could catch the show before they left Florida. I might be seeing them on my birthday 1/12 in Orlando or just catch them in Jacksonville. Great video, I enjoyed!
circus without the animals isn't a circus to me. Thankfully you did this TJ, i was about to purchase tickets for a show in Jacksonville and take my granddaughter. She's an animal lover so it wouldn't have been worth it, so thanks for sharing. I actually was in the Ringling Bros and Barnum Bailey circus many, many years ago, when i was a kid. I had won a raffle (more likely my parents won the raffle), and i was able to be in it. There was a section of the show were they took about 10 of us kids that also won the raffle and we rode around the arena in a horse drawn carriage like thing with horses pulling it it. I vaguely remember clowns with us also. Probably why I'm not a big fan of clowns nowadays, lol. It was an experience i obviously haven't forgot about and that was roughly 40 years ago (yeah I'm an old fart). The show you attended almost resembled a cirque du soleil show to me....thanks for sharing, I definitely appreciate it Jay and Cris. You both keep up the good vlogs!
Awesome video and awesome show! I went to see the circus in Charlotte in the early 90s and I also worked at Circus World in Orlando in the mid 80s. Brings back lots of fun memories. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the return of The Greatest Show On Earth! Loved it! I’d like to share with you that my son worked for Ringling as their sound engineer when they were touring the U.S. in their red and blue team trains. The animals were traveling with them on the trains at that time. Thanks again for showing us their new show!
Thank you for taking us with you to the circus! I had no idea that it had started up again. I grew up in the era of infatuation with the circus. Each week from 1961-1965 we watched Don Ameche host International Showtime featuring circus acts from around the world. During my childhood I remember a famous tightrope family called the Flying Wallendas doing some amazing stunts. Sadly, some were killed during an act in 1962. Then from 1977-1994 we were treated to interesting acts on the Circus of the Stars. My family and I went to performances of the Ringling Brother's Circus a few times, and of course we went to Circus World. We went there around 1984 and have pictures of our son with clown makeup on. I never enjoyed the animal acts, always felt sorry for them, especially the lions being whipped. I am glad it is now revamped with no animals. My favorite type of acts are acrobats, high wire, and trapeze, and all are still as enjoyable in today's circus. The only thing I missed was plate spinning. Oh, and I love the new clowns. I hated clowns when I was a kid, they scared me. As an adult the scary movies like IT did not make them any easier to like! So, I love the new ones that are not scary, but funny. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
In the mid to late 80s I went to so many Ringling bros circus shows at the old Bayfront center in st pete. So many great memories! The new show was better than I thought. Without animals you're basically competing with cirque du soleil and they're top notch and hard to beat but I give them props.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Ring Ling Brothers was supposed to be here in Houston for about a week but all the shows were cancelled. We had tickets for this Sunday. Hurricane Beryl came through Houston and did some damage to our NRG stadium. I was so looking forward to going to the show. We'll try again next time they visit Houston. So glad I come across your video, it looked like an awesome show!
Went in 2014 the last show with the elephants, they had a snowball elephant that we bought and still have. I’m glad they are back even without the animals it’s awesome! Very talented performers 👌
Lol..Jay" what's your favorite part of the show?" My husband: " Leaving"😅😅😅😅😅 " But where's the animals"😂 We love you Jay. You and Chris are awesome. In fact...your videos are way more fun then the circus. That's why we hang out with you guys! ❤❤❤❤❤
Great video, very well done! I’m an ARA and I remember Ringling saying they’ll be no more animals in the shows I was so happy to hear that and now it has come full circle. If anyone knows the story of Tyke and other elephants (see Wikipedia) then you know and would agree that elephants and ALL animals period DO NOT belong in the circus!
I used to love to go to the Ringling Brothers Circus when they were in Venice Florida. They'd arrive and parade the Animals and all the performers from the Train over to the old Ringling Brothers Circus arena. It seems like so long ago. Thanks TJ for the Show. I got my Cracker Jack and sat here watching.
I remember seeing them in Venice when I was a kid in the 80s. I recently found an original poster from their first show back in 78 at the Waldo flea market.
That was awesome!! 👏 thanks for sharing because I couldn’t really understand how they were going to do a circus without animals!? But it looked awesome! Definitely gonna check it out now. ❤
Nice video and thank you for this chance to see the new and only real Circus, but I agree a Circus without animals is defiantly not the same at all...especially the opening parade when everything came out. I never went to the circus as a kid in the 60s, but we took our kids in the 90s and I thought it WAS the greatest...so much going on at once you couldn't see it all, but it filled your senses like nothing else. Without the animals it looks like an ant circus, they lost a dimension and possibly "the Greatest" is now just great. Like I said it filled your senses with the joy and amazement of life, all life, that the average person never gets to see, now my grandchildren miss out on sitting in that third row as that sparkle of the costumes, the grandeur of large animals calmly walk by as for their parents. That is needed in this generation of children that only know cellphones and computers and parents that have "virtual" jobs that never seem to end...both of their senses could benefit from the real circus. I do hope Ringling Bros make a go of it, because of how they were constantly under scrutiny. For some in the circus, like at their founding, this is their best chance at a good living and that is worth supporting, even though many of the generational families that cared for the animals are out of work...its something to think about.
This was amazing, Thank you for sharing it with us for the people who cant get to a show, it was really good, the clowns were funny :) i do miss the animals though but the robot dog was kind of cute lol
Hey Jay, Ringling Brothers gets built rehearsed and sent on tour from Palmetto Florida, straight from the Feld Entertainment Studios located on 301. It's a massive facility and it's the second largest building in the state of Florida. The largest building is NASA. Being that you're a social media person you might possibly be able to take a visit to the studios. You would be surprised at everything that goes on tour leaves from there. Including monster truck jam, Disney on Ice, and any other entertainment that chooses to use that facility
Great show. Thank you for giving us such good coverage. Definitely different than the shows when I was a kid. These animals were more intelligent than the ones back then.
At the time, in the early seventies when their winter quarters were in Venice, Florida. This was when Gunter Gable Williams worked around us and let us watch him at lunch time work with his lions and tigers. At the time we were revamping the red train with living areas for the workers. It was a wild time.

Even my, at the time, four year old grandson could tell the animals were not in a good place. He also didn't ever want to go to a circus again. This might bring me back.
