@@beverlymummomiller338 10 mins. I’ve tried it , works pretty good. It takes about 10 min. For water to start boiling than 10 mins for processing. I also do it with corn, tomatoes , fruits .
I just found you and subbed. I have a question. I am on a very limited budget and disabled and can no longer put out a garden. With the cost of food, I need to buy the larger sizes and re-portion to afford most things. I love the applesauce cups but they are too expensive now. Can I re-can applesauce into lunch box size jars without ruining it?
Absolutely. I use a lot of one cup jars because it’s just hubby and myself now. Just process them for the same time you would a pint jar. Thanks for subscribing!❤️
I've watched this video a couple of times, but am wondering if I missed something. It looks like you put cold jars, into hot water. Or did you put boiling water into the jars themselves? Olives in jars, some brine, then just wipe rims, lids finger tight, water bath for 10 mins? Is that correct? TIA!!
Also there is a store called Gordon’s food service that may have them! I just got a bunch of messages that are months old from RUclips! Don’t know why the delay. Sorry !
Just so you know recanning is not an approved method. Many people do it but just for your information, it doesn’t mean it can not be done safely it’s usually because product comes out softer than fresh product. Follow all sanitary processes and precautions for the best out come!
Can you do it with the smaller cans like 14.5oz? I have a a lot of tomatoes and I can taste the aluminum from the can so I figured I would recan them in glass so its not so metallically.
I WENT THROUGH THE SALT AND WATER BRINE AND THEN WATER BRINE...NOW IM READY TO JAR ..I WAS WONDERING IF I USE A PRESSURE COOKER OR JUST HOT WATER BATH TO SEAL THE JARS...THE OLIVES ARE NOT REAL FERM BUT NOT MUSHY...THANK YOU
Wow, water bath! Easy😊 I really like the burner cover idea for the smaller pot too!
I have been canning for less than a yr.
Really like your videos and will be canning olives! I didn't know you could.
Thank you!
Happy Canning! And Thank you so much!
First time watching.. I love black olive and I just happen to have a couple cans of black olives.. great video..thanks
Hi first time watching your video. Are the olives softer or mushy after canning? Did you can them for 20 minutes? Thank you so much!!
I heard her say something about 10 minutes. I thought most stuff was 20 minutes.

@@Homesteadher1 do the sliced olives become mushy or keep their integrity?
Mine were just as they were before. Just fine!
Omg so happy I found this video. What other number 10 can food can I do this with.
A lot! I’ll be doing some in January! I have done videos of peaches and fruit cocktail too! Thanks for watching👍
Hello! Great video! Simple & to the point. Not a lot of jibber jabber. Very helpful. Thank you 🤗
Thank you! I was gifted with a restaurant bag of olives. This will really help!
Does canning olives cause it to be mushy? Great video...thank you!
Mine were not mushy at all! Thank you for watching! I appreciate it
@@Homesteadher1 who carry's the large cans? Costco?
@Virgo910 I got mine from a friend but Walmart and Gordon’s food service does as well as any restaurant supplier

I put their brine in with them from the can. That’s the instructions I was given.
What size were your jars? They looked like the jelly jars. Thank you.
Yes jelly jars because that’s about the mister would use at one time. Thank you.
I was always taught if the olives were canned in a vinegar brine you can re-can them by waterbath if in water they have to be pressure canned...?
They are in brine
Can you do the green olive the same way?
I do not believe so. The brine is different. I will look into this though and if I find out that it’s possible then I will let you know!
Where can you buy them cans
Gordon food service and sometimes Walmart
Can I make tapenade and can it the same way?
I did that last year and loved it!
Awesome video
Does it work the same for whole seeded black olives?
Does it make them mushy?
Were those pint or half pint jars? Loved the video!
Pints
1/2 pints ;)
Do you know if you can recan boughten garlic?
I do not know but I will check in that!

ANy concerns about botulism as they were boiling only for 10 minutes as they are low acid?
They are in a brine. I’ve used them several times since then including last week. No concerns

Yes
These look like 8 oz jelly jars. Would I add an extra 5 minutes for pints?
You can if you like but not necessary all 8 oz jars are done same as pints always
Are those pints or half-pints?
Jam jars- 1/2 pints
I was looking at fruit in #10 cans today, they're like you said, :so much cheaper."
Can i recan gallon size pickles. Have never found any info on it
Can’t stand golden harvest lids. I’ve gone to ForJars which are amazing and zero fails! Much heavier, way more compound on them!

Remember do not use ball lids. China brought 5hem out and the seals dont stay. I use kerr or 4 lids
