Thanks for the video, it was a BIG help for me installing my fog lights. Thank you Specdtuning!!! I also bought a catback exhaust system from you guys, keep up the good work!
i bought a fuse tap for the yellow wire and tapped directly into my fuse box! theres an empty spot in my fuse box for accessory, it was like it was waiting for me to tap into it! thanks for the video
Great instructional How 2 Video, the only thing i did different was wiring the yellow wire into the fuse box. just plug the brown clip into the fuse box, its that simple. works just like you have it wired to the light switch. still video was helpful....
Also, to anyone looking for what size fuse to use off of the battery connection, a 10amp buss fuse will be fine, you do NOT need anything higher than that, if your relay crapped out and your switch lights up but your foglights don't work, your relay is likely bad, the ones that come with these kits absolutely suck, go to your local autoparts store and buy a 12v/30amp foglight / horn fuse, and rewire it, there are plenty of write ups on how to do this and it is very simple, also, the bulb size in these foglight kits are H3's, as well.
For everyone who bought this recently, the harness they give you is completely different than the one in this video. I had to get 16 gauge wire to extend the battery wire, 1/4 ring connectors for both the battery connector and the ground for the fog light harness, and a fuse tap for the yellow wire under the dash, along with two ten amp fuses, which I tapped into the low beam fuse. Idk why they changed it, but assuming it’s to cut costs considering how much you have to buy separately.
You don't need to cut the brown connector, there is a slot for it at the fuse box. You will see the little fuse remover there too. The acc positive on my car is the third from the left. You just need to find out which one is for the acc switch on yours.
Just wanna thank u for this video.. It helped me on installing my fog lights.. I have a 97 civic v-tech .. Now just wanna find out on how check my engine cus it leaks a lil bit of oil but cant find out where exactly is coming out from..
Why did you cut the yellow wire/brown connector off? i used that exact same yellow wire/brown connector and plugged it in the fuse box and it worked fine with the light headlight switch.
@DavidDojo the factory that made these foglights connector for that wire doesnt fit for the car, therefore you have to replace that connector with a different one that fits onto the ACC. hope this helps.
Check all the wires again. Check the ground and see that is grounded properly. See if the bulb is connect correctly. Just recheck to see if everything is connected again.
yes, on the fuse panel there are auxilary outputs. find the one that gives power when the lights turn on, and hook the switch power up there. That's HOW it's supposed to be done.
there is. there are 5 spots, and 1 of them gives power when the key is turned on, the other gives power when the parking lights are on (with or without headlights) use THIS one for a factory style install. fogs will only come on with parking lights/headlights and can be turned off seperatly.
hey brother i want to ask you some question, my left fog light died but my right one still turn on so is it just the ligh bulb went out or a wire problem?
yeah i did it without cutting anything only thing is the clip might be a lil tight so u need a pair of pliers to squeeze it hard enough to pop it in.. i learned from this video too but i didn't cut anything
bought my foglights for my civic from you guys because of this vid, could you do another how to video for a 2006 scion tc fog light tutorial? pleeease i get confused when it comes to wiring by the ignition part.
If anyone has that issue - don't use those connectors! Seriously! I wired everything up and they didn't come on, I checked every single thing (grounds, fuse, relay, foglamps themselves, continuity everywhere, all seemed to work), then took the connector off and noticed it didn't even penetrate through the insulation of the wires... The acc power wire and the wire you get with the kit to connect it to aren't even the same diameter. It doesn't work. And it's my second time that the quick connector failed me in car related electronics work!!
Superior how to guide, except for the part with fastening the yellow wire to the ignition power...I couldn't tell what or how is was being attached to but that brown connector goes right into one of the empty slots in the fuse panel and presto - let there be light! Otherwise great job. I'd love it if you made a tutorial on how to replace a 1997 Honda civic headliner bc mine is starting to peel away, and my sunroof sunshade is all ripped up. Thanks!
Well the fog lights turn on so they you did do something correct. But what do you mean by the colors do not switch? Please contact our customer service team. They will be happy to help you
@Specdtuninginfo i cut the yellow wire with the brown connector and used a quick connector to connect it to the acc power wire but theres no power i believe.
lol I just spliced the red power wire with the red power wire in my stereo deck, has the same effect as wiring it to the ACC, never blew a fuse and no problems have arisen
@Specdtuninginfo how many watts are the bulbs?? i have the same ones and they keep blowing the fuse. i had a 25 watt fuse but they still burnt it. what would you recommend? please help
@rasta4244 couldnt tell you exactly what is wrong, it could be anything since we dont know how exactly you wired them regardless if you followed it.. we suggest taking it to a local auto shop to see what is going on.
Im not sure which rubber grommet you are talking about. If you are talking about the one located at the fire wall, please make sure you have the same model vehicle show in the video it should be located at the same spot.
What size did you use for the quick connector? I cut off the brown connector from the yellow wire I didn't know i could connect it to the fuse box. Sigh..
I second this! Does anyone have any info? I can get the switch to light up and all, but not the fog lights themselves. I have a black wire coming from the fuse and I have no idea where it goes.
the quick connector (connecting yellow wire to ignition) did not come with the fog lights. I'm wondering whey the yellow wire came with the plug at the end... there is nowhere to plug it in!
I did everything you did, all wiring are good, and the switch turns on but the fog lights itself is not on. I thought it was the bulb but I jump connect to the battery and it turns on. I don't know what's going on. Help please.
You will have to go under the car or remove the bumper to gain access to the back of the fog light then from there you can just remove the bulb and replace it with a new one.
Hey guys, I got some amber fog lights for my 97 civic. It was pretty much the exact kit shown in this video and I did everything the same. After about two weeks though, they stopped working. Any ideas? My fog light switch has a light on it, and from the beginning, it always stays on. It's still on even though the lights won't come on. I figure that means the whole set up is at least getting power? Should I check the bulbs? I want to know what is most likely before I start digging in. Thanks.
im confused i have a 97 civic with a 2000 front i installed the fogs jus like a 97 it still doesnt wrk the fuse is good all the wires are connected properly
Thanks for the video, it was a BIG help for me installing my fog lights. Thank you Specdtuning!!! I also bought a catback exhaust system from you guys, keep up the good work!
Awesome video, shows DIY wiring for fogs in an easy manner.
i bought a fuse tap for the yellow wire and tapped directly into my fuse box! theres an empty spot in my fuse box for accessory, it was like it was waiting for me to tap into it! thanks for the video
Finally!!!!! an easy step by step video. Thanks for the help.
Super , but may I ask which is better yellow or white fog lights ? Or is it just the color?
Great instructional How 2 Video, the only thing i did different was wiring the yellow wire into the fuse box. just plug the brown clip into the fuse box, its that simple. works just like you have it wired to the light switch. still video was helpful....
Yes you can use HID's. as long as the bulb will fit within the housing.

Nice video tutorial keep it up! Thank you!
@pillin187 They are compatible but we generally do not recommend HIDs as it might burn the housing.
It might of been a different trim level. We are glad you did not have to remove the plugs though.
Hi im glad this video helped you out! what do you mean by it wouldnt go in? did i pop out and no slide back in or?
Why did you cut the yellow wire/brown connector off? i used that exact same yellow wire/brown connector and plugged it in the fuse box and it worked fine with the light headlight switch.
Excellent instructional video thank you
@DavidDojo the factory that made these foglights connector for that wire doesnt fit for the car, therefore you have to replace that connector with a different one that fits onto the ACC. hope this helps.
Can you guys do a 2001-2003 civic fog light installation please? I know a lot of people who are wondering how to do it, including myself.
@brizzlefizzle We might have that coming very soon.. fingers crossed
Check all the wires again. Check the ground and see that is grounded properly. See if the bulb is connect correctly. Just recheck to see if everything is connected again.

great vid. Thanks for doing it for us
i agree with you i would of hooked up to the fuse box where it just connects that's how i wired my friends rsx and it came out clean.
that would really depend on which fog lights you ordered. some of them do come with them but others wont if they aren't needed.
Please give our customer service team a call and they will be happy to help you with this issue. Check to see if the bulbs are still good also.
hey brother i want to ask you some question, my left fog light died but my right one still turn on so is it just the ligh bulb went out or a wire problem?
Ohh alright. have you checked the wiring or the bulb yet?
Good video.
Perfect tutorial
it means accessories, its a position on your ignition where all the lighting accessories are powered up.
Can you change the stock bulb to led bulb?
yeah i did it without cutting anything only thing is the clip might be a lil tight so u need a pair of pliers to squeeze it hard enough to pop it in.. i learned from this video too but i didn't cut anything
bought my foglights for my civic from you guys because of this vid, could you do another how to video for a 2006 scion tc fog light tutorial? pleeease i get confused when it comes to wiring by the ignition part.
Are these the same install as the Redline360 OEM fog lights with harness ?
@xJp694x Thank you for your feedback! much appreciated! =D
At least show us how ya connect the quick connector on the acc power wire, I guess I'm gonna do it the ghetto way
I fuckin taped that bitch on and it works..

Have you checked all of the wiring? If they are all correct please contact our customer service team and explain to them what went wrong.
why woould you cut the yellow wire with the connector on it if it has a specific place that you can connect right under the dash on the fuse box?
Well the fog lights turn on so they you did do something correct. But what do you mean by the colors do not switch? Please contact our customer service team. They will be happy to help you
We do not recommended that because the power runs off a small fuse like a 10amp. Just go by the video to be safe.
@Specdtuninginfo i cut the yellow wire with the brown connector and used a quick connector to connect it to the acc power wire but theres no power i believe.
nice vid. the music is chill too.
You would need to use a quick connector. Hope that helps.
Does the cables/harness/switch came with the fog lights kit? I just ordered one and want to make sure. Thanks!
lol I just spliced the red power wire with the red power wire in my stereo deck, has the same effect as wiring it to the ACC, never blew a fuse and no problems have arisen
I bought these fog lights from spec d and one of them isnt working. Can you replace the bulbs in these?
@Specdtuninginfo how many watts are the bulbs?? i have the same ones and they keep blowing the fuse. i had a 25 watt fuse but they still burnt it. what would you recommend? please help

@modz1213 Thanks! we appreciate your feedbacks =]
When connecting it to car battery we just have to remove positive connector not the negative first then positive?
Woow nice video shows you everything you need to do thanks bro
is this a similar process as the 94-97 integra fog light install? A vid for that would be sick!
is this an HX? what kind of engine and headers do you have on there ?
Great tutorial
yes it does
Hey when you look for the acc wire do you slit the whole wire?
Is it possible to connect them to a different power source so that they turn on when your headlights turn on, instead of using the switch?
What size did you use for the quick connector? I cut off the brown connector from the yellow wire I didn't know i could connect it to the fuse box. Sigh..
Did u cut the acc wire to connect it? Whats the acc wire connected to?,
@golden1710 apologies, we currently do not have an installation video pertaining fog lights for accords.
@specdtuninginfo Can you use Hid Bulbs ?
Mantul gan
Yes it is the same way to wire it. Might be a little different but mostly the same thing.
I second this! Does anyone have any info? I can get the switch to light up and all, but not the fog lights themselves. I have a black wire coming from the fuse and I have no idea where it goes.
your technical wiring and stuff yes, but as far as having to cut and where exactly to wire will be different
i didnt get any quick connector with the package thats why im a little confuse bout what you did on 10:21.. O.o
can u please make a fog light installation video for 2003 honda civic
you dont need to connect to the acc in the steering wheel, you can use ANY acc positive wire.
where did you get the quick connector? does it come with the package for all fog light kits??
My switch doesnt have a black ground wire but has a blue wire coming out, is the blue a ground wire?
thank you for the tip
the quick connector (connecting yellow wire to ignition) did not come with the fog lights. I'm wondering whey the yellow wire came with the plug at the end... there is nowhere to plug it in!
is the wiring the same for the 99-00 civic?
Isn't there a spot in the fuse box that can be used for acc power? Pretty sure.
Is it the same thing for a 2000civic 2dr ? I know the fog isnt the same, but the way to wire it ?!
Yea how did u connect the quick connector to the ACC power wire .? Its really hard
I have a question I want to change my bulbs for my foglights can you give me an idea on how can I change the bulbs
Is it possible to make the fogs brighter
Why are 92-96 Honda prelude fog lights hard to find and why are they soo expensive compared to other honda's?
very informative. thanks for the upload, sir!
@Specdtuninginfo I went on your website and I was not able to find the prices of each item.
Can you do 03 civic fog installation?
tnx for the tutorial!!
@baludoyz you're welcome!

Please share your knowledge about proper installation. What would you have done differently?
@@ThaCmaro I've posted what you should and should NOT do in the comments section of this video.
