Same with me. I've never been to Houston OR a Buc-ee's. There is one we pass on the way to my daughter's house in Denton but I've never been in it. Just seems too overwhelming and I get anxious in crowds.
I feel so sad that y’all are speeding through on interstates. You’re missing so very much that happens on the back roads! Welcome to the US-we love you guys!!!
that s exactly what i wanted to say !you need to go thru little towns and stop by at antique shops ,local shops etc etc and stay away from major tourist cities ..anyway we still love to watch you guys !!!
Kari don't be sad - the USA is a big place and we are seeing what we want to see. We'll be sharing our route and why we are doing what we are doing soon - it will all make sense then. There are lots of interesting places coming up.
You forgot to mention how huge the Buc-ees bathroom stalls are! And all the home decor, clothing, jewelry, and various other goods. in the store. It IS totally overwhelming.
There is a new Buc-EE's here in Daytona Beach. It's a gold mine! If I knew what I do now I would have invested every penny I had to be part owner. I don't go there on weekends or holidays - it's packed. I go get gas before 7am - before it gets packed.
The world's largest buc ees is now being built in Sevierville tenn. and soon to follow by a bigger one in Murfreesboro tenn even larger. Like the channel. Good luck on your trip!!
when i visited neuschwanstein castle, i did the walk over to the bridge that has the amazing view of it all, and on the railing in the center of the bridge was a Buc-ee sticker. as a texan, i felt right at home. 😃
Austin has several amazing houses such as the one you saw in Houston one house has huge painted metal animals throughout the yard , the neighborhood has several other fascinating homes too. You must also visit Barton springs, don't go to the public pool area where you have to pay , there's a huge park nearby ( there are some homeless people but they were friendly ) My husband and I slept in our van at the springs in the park ( police patrol it but they don't bother you ) there's a short trail down to the springs, it's beautiful ! Love you two, I've been following you since your early days in Türkiye 😊 Safe travels 🙏
Been a long time since I’ve been able to see it at night for myself, but I remember the Atlanta Skyline being so gorgeous at the right times of night. Especially coming down I-20 from either direction. Just, one of the few highlights I got to experience as a child on the road a lot.
Marianne's an accomplished driver to handle Houston freeways at rush hour, and from the opposite side of the van! Hats off to Marianne. I did it in your country for a week. The real trick was the floor shift on the left, no automatic transmissions available, and all those blooming roundabouts! LOL! Buc-ee's has so many gas pumps it's hard to believe but sometimes they are so busy it's almost impossible to find an open pump to pull up to. I agree with the lady at the sandwich counter. Their chopped beef is better than their sliced beef sandwich. I just realized while watching your video, I've never had their turkey sandwich. I'll have to try that! I totally adore your channel and will be following your travels. Y'all are delightful and I hope you enjoy every bit of your journey! A devoted Texas fan.
Cool to follow your travels through areas I am from. I grew up in Louisiana and moved to Texas. I have been to that very gas station and lived right down the road from it for a little while. Safe travels!
Live next to Buc eec and love there fudge. And the second way you said Katy was right way. The beer house a few years back they tried tear down. Glad you enjoy Texas. I live in a seaside town outside Houston. Love y'all
It's so awesome to see you stop at the beer can house. The beer can house is only decorated on the outside. The artist didn't decorate the inside of the house because that was his wife's area. If you have a chance, it's an interesting stop. Definitely check out the Orange Show while you're there, too.
7:05 We have bugs here called “love bugs”. Sometimes they occur in great swarms. If they splat on your car, which is almost impossible to avoid, their body fluids are incredibly reactive. It will strip your paint off your car. You have to get them cleaned off quickly if you want to keep your paint intact.
If you are still Around in Texas visit Fredericksburg little German town they have lot to see even second world war museum. Also want stay over RV park go next town Yogi bear Kerville .
Welcome to New Braunfels, Texas! I watched them build that gas station and couldnt believe what they were doing. Then, a short while after opening they added even more fuel pumps to get where they are now.
@@TREADtheglobe That is true. I think I eas a bit harsh in my comment. I typically see them a lot at fairs and theme parks if you guys end up visting any. Might make for an interesting video. Enjoy your travels. Enjoying the content.
Howdy! My wife and I found you watching this video and now have watch several more. If you guys decide to see Lake Tahoe we have a place for you to stay in Carson City. Lake Tahoe may be the most beautiful place on earth.
I love buc ees. I used to work right down the road from the one in new braunfels. Miss it. We have them here in Florida now but im roughly 2 hrs away now! Road trip coming up
Thank you - yes we are sad but proud of all of her incredible work - she will live on forever as we said on Facebook / Instagram - she is a true hero and conservationist 🐢🌷🙌💜
The Wife and I live a few miles from that Buc-ee's in Cinco Ranch. It's a sight to see, especially the car wash. When we head out to the Texas Hill Country it's our first stop even if we dont need gas.
Now Buc-ee's is absolutely my FAVORITE service station! Yes, their restrooms are pristine because they have a culture that is beyond what any other fuel station has. They strive for excellence and quality customer service. They also pay their employees quite well. Starting pay is around $17.00/hr. Unfortunately, there are only about 6 in the whole state of Texas and that's it. I go every season as they change out the merchandise to fit with the current holidays. One dislike I have for Buc-ee's is they don't allow pets:( *Did you try beef jerky or brisket? They are two staples of Texas. Ah, saw you tried the brisket!* I loved that you said "tin" instead of "foil." 😉
Congratulations on 80K!! 🥳🎆🎇 Once again you've set my mouth watering! 🤤 It is staggering not only for it's quantity but also the variety. Wherever the line is between convenience store and supermarket, that's where Buc-ee's toe is! 😆😆 ❤️❤️😎👍xx
Happy Employees at Buc-ees are paid very well with great benefits. Min. start $15-$19/hour +$2 more for nights. Healthcare 401k. 3 weeks paid vacation to start. (Most places have to work 10 years to get 3 weeks where I work.) Dept leads get $22-$32 hour.
Hey guys, awesome AWESOME content- so great to see you both having such a blast! We’re actually fellow Brits who have just flown to San Diego to convert a skoolie (so it’s super awesome to see some fellow Van-life Pommies over here with us! Let us know if you’re heading towards Cali as we’d love to meet up for a camp (or even some beef brisket 😋)!
Hi!!! FOUND YOU GUYS ON THE ROAD 💜 passing through Lake Charles, Louisiana (recorded my truck 😅) & subscribed after 🎉 love you guys’ content and the idea of your channel!
I am so glad I stumbled on your channel! My husband is from Brighton and moved to the states in the 80's as did his parents and sister. I met him working on the Riverwalk! We rv and love it. I need more room so van life wasn't for me, but I love your channel.
I freaking adore Buc-ees . We have one in Florida and it just happens to be between me and my daughter so I stop there often when picking up the grand baby (every other weekend).
HOWDY, I just found you two lovely people now Im binge watching backwards lol . I hope you get to some of the middle states , like enjoying the beauty of the Ozark Mountains .
Oh yeah! The Beer Can House! I love that place - quirky and fun! And oh darn, you missed the Art Car Museum in Houston - that's an awesome place as well...... actually there are a lot of these quirky and awesome little gems in Houston. Hopefully, you will catch some more at the other cities you visit :) Texas bbq is all about beef - and brisket is the big thing - so good! Have fun and safe travels.
Stopped at that Buc-ee's many times, mostly at the request of the rail crews, at my last job when I transported crews for BNSF. Although a bit pricey, the food was amazing and their milk chocolate raisons were to die for. In a 18 months working for that company, I don't think I ever saw everything in the store. Unfortunately, the closest Buc-ee's to me is in New Braunfels, Texas. Two towns in Texas were made famous by music. China Grove (Southeast San Antonio) and La Grange (north of I-10 between Houston and San Antonio) sung by the Doobie Brothers and ZZ Top respectively. Glad y'all loved our great state and are welcome back anytime.
Buc-ee's is a chain of country stores and gas stations with locations in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida. Additional locations are currently under development in Colorado, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and South Carolina. Plans for an additional location in North Carolina were shelved in early 2021. The company is owned by Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Don Wasek, and has its headquarters in Lake Jackson, Texas. From Wikipedia
At 11:31, you just managed to catch on camera, the first ever dirty toilet in Buc-ees history. I'm sure the manager of that store had a coronary when they saw that.
Woo hoo, 80,000+. We are going to get you to 100,000 while you're here, I can feel it. Loved the Buc-ee's tour, I've never been. I have been watching the news of the fires in New Mexico and Arizona, I hope you don't run into any of that while heading West. Take care!
Thanks Adele - yes we have been warned of which roads to take and which to avoid - we are in Arizona today but driving to Albuquerque tomorrow !! Good old Trudy xx
We have a Wally's gas station here in St. Louis, it's basically the same thing as Buc-ees. I mean it's a cool thing to see once or twice. But at the end of the day it's just a gas station.
Congrats on the 80k subs (now 81.1k), the magical 100k is just around the corner! Beaver mascots are very common in the US, our local college (Oregon State University) mascot for example is a Beaver (Go Beavs), you guys need to get your minds out of the gutter! :).
We live near that Buc-ee's (about a 20 minute drive), that car wash blow dryer is TOO strong, went through it once and it ripped the rubber trims off my 2009 Toyota Corolla. Will never use it again. BTW, welcome to the USA, Texas and Houston/Katy!
Good morning Ambassadors, I have been waiting your videos to see where you are at but by now you are done with Texas for sure. That Buc-ee's , Jesus! Huge like Wal- Mart, I reckon! Although, the prices really high ($6.49 to $7.41)but the sandwiches were also bigger. I wish you should have shown us the gasoline prices ( promise you a few of us like to see what the gasoline prices are in the other states). Chris, you know what I noticed in this video YOUR LAUGH after the first bite into the pulled pork sandwich..that was hilarious 😂😂😂 We will be following you guys. Congratulations on your new high 80 K subscribers. C'mon folks let's get them into 100K, because they deserve it. I already got all of my family subscribe to " TREAD THE GLOBE". Let's give a hand to our lovely friends. By the way ambassadors we ALL love you and be safe, keep sending great videos like this💕💕💕💕♥️♥️🇹🇷🇹🇷
And Milkovich died of....cirrhosis? (just a guess! LOL). Katy, Texas: named after the Kansas-Texas Railroad (K-T, get it?). Thanks for the laughs, great way to start the day again!
As a Follower, I hope you are enjoying your trip and I do appreciate that you are recording this for us, but so far I am not excited by the USA leg of your journey. You seem to be spending your time on highways getting from A to B. We are seeing a lot of big roads, uninspiring park up locations, petrol stations and big serves of junk food. There must be so much more to the USA. I hope you can slow down to take indirect routes and inspire us with beautiful scenery and lest touristy hidden gems. Best wishes
Thanks! 😃. We have just had the best time !! Check the tribe page for todays top photo !! LOL - we had such a great day and can't wait to share all the photos tomorrow xx Love M xx
Love Buc'ees we had to go to the New Braunfels one too. Bought a Yukon coffee mug for EDD. Goes without saying Beef Brisket sandwiches were also sampled. I'm sure you guys must be doing the NPs and using the Americas Beautiful pass. We used it twice on big US roadtrips.
We went to a Buc - ees gas station in Terrell, Texas on Interstate 20 when we moved to Arizona from Florida two years ago. Such a unique gas station. Wow! By the way, Houston does not have building zoning codes so all kinds of buildings, homes, industry, or business can be in a single neighborhood. I think many times even code enforcement is light. In a lot of cities the beer can art and shingles and fencing would not be allowed.
We love you sooo much !! Thank you so much for being with us on this adventure - love to you and we look forward to sharing more ice-cream .... we will buy it this time 😂💜🌷🙌. Love Marianne xx
Lived in Dallas since Dec. 28, 1992 never been to Houston. Been to Texarkana, Tyler, Austin, El Paso, Amarillo, College Station, it’s just to big. Planing a road trip in June from Dallas to Indiana. Will be Traveling through Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois.
I lived in TX the first 26.5 years of my life and never went to Houston. TX is massive lol but I'm happy where I'm at in the Ouchita mountains of Arkansas 🏞️
I really wish you didn’t drive the interstates, but instead took the US Routes. There’s a lot more scenery for you to enjoy. Anyway, happy that you had a great time touring Texas. Come on back, sometime!!
Hi Bruce - due to the enormity of the US - we have to take the interstates sometimes - but there are plenty of videos when we are not on the interstate - we hope you enjoy them too 🌺
@@TREADtheglobe I have shared your videos that are local with friends of mine. I don't know many actual San Antonio natives, so many people here are Military or just relocating from worse-off areas like my home of Illinois, or California, or New York. I will tell you that the Interstates are good for what they do--take you from point a to point b. If you use social media (discord is amazing, don't overlook it), I recommend asking locals in your nearby areas you're headed to, that you'd like a guide. Also, it would probably provide you and the wife with a home-cooked meal. Not that you can't get that, so many appliances allow you to use a generator. I recommend you purchase a Crock-Pot, because that will slowcook something while the miles tick away and the hours pass. God bless your journey. Bruce
You will never have enough time to explore all of Texas. I have lived here all my life and still haven't seen it all.
Absolutely !!

I’m embarrassed, you stopped in Katey. Though they have the car wash….ours is bigger🦫
Yall are so wholesome. Thanks for visiting the loan star state!

I wish you should have shown us the gasoline prices ( promise you a few of us like to see what the gasoline prices are in the other states).
Chris, you know what I noticed in this video YOUR LAUGH after the first bite into the pulled pork sandwich..that was hilarious 😂😂😂

Spectacular, awesome and amazing
And Milkovich died of....cirrhosis? (just a guess! LOL). Katy, Texas: named after the Kansas-Texas Railroad (K-T, get it?). Thanks for the laughs, great way to start the day again!
God bless you
and your family
Check out tinker town in Nee Mexico. All kids of stuff like the bottle house!
Best wishes
Welcome to America! We mean Welcome to Buccees! Oh it’s the same thing! 😃🤪😂🤙 You guys continue to make us laugh! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks! 😃. We have just had the best time !! Check the tribe page for todays top photo !! LOL - we had such a great day and can't wait to share all the photos tomorrow xx Love M xx
We Love Buccees from Georgetown, Tx
Dipping dots ice cream was created for the space shuttle program so Astronauts can eat ice cream in space.
Just ordered a t-shirt. 👍😘
Fabulous - thank you very much !!
Thanks xx Yep we have the pass and getting to use it already !! woo hoo xx Love to EDD
That car wash😆 If you take your car for a wash there, and if there’s a queue, and someone asks how long it’ll be, I guess you could say, 255 feet 😂
🎉🎊🪅 congratsssss 💜 80k. Buck-ee’s seems fantastic and the ice-cream seems way better than smoked ice cream 😂 love you both 😍
We love you sooo much !! Thank you so much for being with us on this adventure - love to you and we look forward to sharing more ice-cream .... we will buy it this time 😂💜🌷🙌. Love Marianne xx
Now you have made me hungry ! Lol congrats on reaching 80 000😃👍❤
Congrats on the 80k!! That is one hell of a gas station!!
Thanks!!
Bruce
