Oh don't be sad. I did have an incredible time on Twitch and met some amazing, life changing people. Might go back sometime, but defo not the online space for me as of right now, but happy that RUclips is feeling like home. Thanks for starting me on this content creation journey, missus. Thanks my celtic cousin. Always appreciate the kind words. It was just a side of Twitch that I couldn't take anymore and definitely feels like one of the only ways to grow on the platform. The fact that you identified that and took action is great man, a lot of people would have kept going to their own detriment. Just watched the video lad, as a streamer myself everything you said is truly relatable. I was at a stage last year where all I did was out a facade to please the masses but realizing that fakeness to twitch absolutely disgusted me. Twitch as a platform needs to fix things there. Let me be honest with ya. I have always been very reluctant to make friends with streamers because I've dealt with that fakeness where people would just be friends with me to use me to get close to my brother. Paddy your a real one brother, small communities with people who really care about you are the only community you need ❤️

I wasn't very aware of streamers/youtubers etc. before I started doing it. While I really appreciate what DB does, I personally connect more with your content. It's more like my own. More raw. More manic. More emotional and chaotic. I knew from the second I started hanging out in yer streams that they were somewhere I could be comfortable in. I will still definitely be stopping by to hang out with you man cause I feckin' love being in yer company and the bants we do have. And yer spot on man. It's not the size of yer community that counts, it's how the people in it make you feel. Much lvoe dude. Gotta meet up somewhere in Ireland soon for cans and some games lad ;)
I feel this wholeheartedly my friend. Twitch felt like, to me, too many people were growing on fake or toxic foundations and while I never aspired to be like that IRL I ABSOLUTELY did want to grow a community, but not like that. Having people stop by and say hi and then 2 minutes later say they're going to go check out someone else's stream or stop by and say "Wow no one is here you must be lonely", the bots, the racist shit, etc. All of that really sucked the enjoyment out of me streaming on Twitch and is a good chunk of why i stepped away. That kind of shite started affecting me mentally and i'll be damned if i let a hobby, a fucking HOBBY, affect me in a way that's not positive (or at least neutral lol; challenge running is a bitch sometimes). I'm glad to hear you're making a change right for you man. If i ever truly return to streaming i'll more than likely follow in your footsteps. I will always be thankful for meeting you through the platform though, so there is that. /Salute my friend!
