Thanks for the explanation of the mounting options. Ubiquiti does a terrible job of explaining this in their documentation. At 3:10 you say "if we push this button, we can take this plate off". However, the button has nothing to do with removing the plate. That was an assumption on your part. The plate is held on by a small plastic nub at the TOP of the plate that fits in a small hole at the top of the device. This is what holds the backplate on (besides the optional screw). The button does nothing for removing the plate, and if you look, it contacts nothing on the inside. You can remove the plate without pressing the "button". In fact, it is not a "button" at all, rather, is it a pivot point for the softer material that surrounds the split in the plate at the bottom for putting your terminated cable through. Also, think about it - if it were what you say (a button for removing the plate), it wouldn't work because as soon as you slide the device onto the backplate, you don't have access to the "button" to remove it from the plate anymore since the "button" is behind the device (and behind the plate - pressed tight to the wall) now. :)

OK, thanks for pointing that out and putting me straight. I often only have a few minutes to do these before they ship on out, so I do the best that I can, when there is no documentation, but I am just a human !

I have a Unifi Dream Machine in one end of the house. Can I use the UK-Ultra as a wireless repeater on the other side? It's an older house with no ethernet in the walls.

You certainly can. I would suggest though that you put the UK-Ultra 2/3rds of the way to the end of your house. It still needs a good signal to be able to repeat the wireless and then re-broadcast. If you have a long house then we suggest (depending on the wall makeup) you may need one every 10m or so. I hope this helps.
