Rurouni Kenshin:Kyoto Inferno kicked some serious ass!!! very awesome adaptation of the Kyoto Arc! can't wait for "The Legend Ends"!!! Attention Hollywood, this is how anime adaptations should be made! Leave 'em to the japanese people! >:)
Watched the series, the OVA's and read the manga. Sends Chills to my spine watching the previous movies in the big screen. EPIC! This is how LIVE ADOPTATIONS are done!
Although I noticed that Kenshin and Kauru's connection was kinda weak in Kyoto Inferno..they just kept staring at each other... Sadly, i didn't feel any connection on those scenes...but the farewell scene was well-done (even if its not set on night time with fireflies)..Kauru's reaction was just fine, she didn't wailed like hell (unlike in the anime), which is fine with me...Overall, RK:Kyoto Inferno was loyal to its source material (w/ some forgivable twists), spectacular backdrops/set, incredible fight scenes (my faves: Aoshi vs Sano, Shojirou vs Kenshin, Okina vs Aoshi), goosebump-worthy drama, with a pinch of romance. Can't wait for Part 3!

I was confused as to why the two movies were released so close together, then at the 1:30:00 mark of the second film I realized that there was no way they were going to get everything done in that film alone. I was both depressed and ecstatic. A third film will resolve the Aoshi conflict and will allow us to see all three (Kenshin, Saito, and Aoshi) fight Shishio. Can't wait for the third film to be released to DVD. and on a side not, do you guys think they'll make a fourth and maybe fifth film based on the third season?

Also most of these films don't depict fight the way they were done in anime. I understand they want to 'appease' the audience with more choreographed fights, but the fights among top tiered guys like these should be done in few hits. Kenshin vs Hanya was "WTF" type. It was too much choreographed moves, which neither should be doing considering their deadly skill level. After seeing the Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (Movie), it was obvious the entire plot got f-ed up to please the new comers to this anime. Best to just read the manga and watch anime FIRST for newcomers before they watch it. Hiko found kenshin near water? WTF. Hiko does not have massive body, pony tail, white Mitsurugi successor robe? WTF Kaoru kidnapped to be taken on board the ship? Cho vs Kenshin fight being cut short, not showing rage of kenshin, him executing the technique in full view... There are just too much...not satisfying me. Overall good time killer but no where near what I wanted it to be. We need Kenshin movie using some of these actors/actresses, along with NEW SOLID, GOOD cast with a massive budget like that we see in hollywood and have a trilogy like Lord of the rings...yeah. THEN it will be a true kenshin movie. This is no where near what it should be.
Too bad Rurouni Kenshin's not as marketable in the States as in other parts of the world as a property, because if these films had state wide releases, anime as a genre would've gotten at least a tiny bump in popularity after the masses mistook Dragon Ball: Evolution as being faithful to the source material.
