They really have no reason to be shocked. This "prank" was way too realistic and it's safe to say that any one of us would also beat the guy we thought was responsible for our friends "death".
I am not a law student, but I can see how his trial may go; The lawyer representing him knows he's not at fault for Alexi's death because A. His friends planned the whole thing out, so there were very bad flaws in the escape room, B. Cole never signed a legal consent form to make him liable or was made aware this was all an act, and C. If the lawyer made everyone in the court watch the footage of Cole's experience and put the audience in Cole's shoes without the context that it was all a messed up prank. In other words, Cole, legitimately, had every reason to beat Alexi to death. Cole would be sentenced to a mental hospital as he was a victim of perceived torture. His friends would be sentenced to prison for involuntary manslaughter. And everyone else involved would be fined or sentenced very harshly, as this kind of service should at least be legally and ethically approved. The only way I see for this to be less messy was for least one "friend" to be with Cole to the end.
In America, he might have a very good case, but since the movie takes place in Russia--where they have atrocious self-defence laws--he would almost certainly be tried and convicted for second-degree murder.

You’d think if after everything that has happened to this guy (including him actually attempting to shoot someone), that he might be a touch wired to look towards the “ringleader” and possibly beat him to death after watching his friends die. Pretty sure everyone here has legal charges coming their way.
Everyone being "shocked" at the end is absolutely just dumb as hell. Cole SHOT YOU. Alexi fails to realize how even if he was never in danger that Cole FULLY INTENDED TO KILL HIM. The worst thing he could do is put himself alone in a room with Cole and NOT expect him to charge and beat you down. Without cold, hard proof that it was all a game, Cole's got nothing to lose.
Ya although I suspected was just a game around the point he broke out of his hand cuffs, Cole was in a legit intense situation with adrenaline rushing over his body only thinking one or two things Get out and Get my friends. And after seeing all his friends murdered he truly under psychological distress. And was left with kill or be killed response. Now if he pieced it together and realized it was still a game yes that was possible, But of course that wasn't the cause and i don't blame a guy you psychologically torture to think in only fight or flight(was likely not an option in his mind as he first hand seen tracking capabilities).
Yep. What Alexi needed to do was be there in that final room with all the friends and shout "Surprise!" Then Cole would still be traumatized and hate everyone, but he wouldn't have Alexi's blood on his hands.
That ending is just goddamm awful to experience, your mind has been shattered by seeing your friends get killed off one by one and when you kill the one pulling the strings, it was all a joke but what you just did wasn't planned for the prank at all.

They should have ended the prank right after they put him in the Van and covering his head with a bag and take him to a building for the surprise party and just surprise him there telling him everything was all staged, then further resort too another more extreme prank by faking his friends being tortured and killed adding too the stress of the already intense situation.

About the friends being so surprised that Cole killed the guy: they are insane. They should have already known that Cole would kill the guy on sight. I mean, he literally shot one of the torturing guys, which did not kill him, but he did shoot
“When they get closer and see that he’s murdered Alexi, they’re all shocked” How the hell are the shocked? They just staged the brutal murders of themselves and traumatized him for life.
Correction: a real human would say not so nice things (the kind that could get people banned for life on social medias and receive the visit of the Police) to his so-called friends before going on a rampage and killing himself.
seriously, this would lead anyone into doing so. he had the chance to kill the man who kidnapped, and killed all his love ones infront of him. anyone would take it and get their revenge
The fact that they didn't come out when he was beating the guy to a pulp is probably explainable. I'd think that it was because the lights would be a cue for everyone to come onto stage and greet him, as it would have been timed with Alexi's speech. They came out on time and realized what had just happened.
The ending is so fucked because after everything that happened, when he finally could escape, he still went back for them. He needs better friends my guy.
Right?? This guy practically threw his life away for the single, tiny chance that he might be able to save one of his friends. The possibility of those extra few seconds keeping ONE of them alive was worth risking his own guaranteed survival. On the flipside, they intentionally traumatised him for life because "lol it's just a prank". One of these is a better person than the other.
The moment Cole felt that his life was in grave danger, they should have stopped it. Alexi’s death is on their hands. Cole wouldn’t be found guilty in court.

That ending could have been avoided by having the friends visible in that last room when he enters. That would have both confused him and helped defuse the situation so that they could reveal the prank.
@@KobeniGaming Exactly. So the girlfriend literally DROWNING in that trap was fake? How the heck are you supposed to fake that? The screenwriter wanted to make a cool plot twist but they clearly forgot about many flaws in the plot
So would everyone participating in the prank be charged with manslaughter? Cause cole can’t be charged with anything as he was being lead to believe his life was in danger
Friends would probably be charged with manslaughter. It was their actions that caused it to happen and there's enough evidence to prove that they set this up, and he had no idea it was "just a prank"
Im guessing its like the law for burglary. If 2 people try to rob it and the homeowner shoots 1 of you, the other escapes, the 2nd guy who escaped would be charged with manslaughter and not the homeowner.
I dunno... are all the laws the same in Russia as they are in the States? If so, Cole would likely be off the hook. That said, there's also enough evidence to suggest that, if Aleksi was actually someone of high influence, _none_ of them would likely leave Russia alive, as the friends would be seen as responsible for the death, with Cole being the straight-up killer. This isn't even taking into account how the millions and millions of witnesses would factor in with the livestream. If Cole wanted to, he could set up a charity campaign to get back to the 'States, but after this experience, I figure he's lost all the fight in him.
I am just a random guy, who‘s law degree comes from the university of Reddit and Internet Videos, but I believe that legally Cole would get off Scott free for everything and depending on the jurisdiction, his friends might go to prison for murder and kidnapping. As far as he could reasonably know, his life was in danger and he was highly stressed out. So a self defense claim would be save. While his friends held him captive against his will. Yes he agreed to one escape room. Not to multiple series of psychological torture and multiple rounds of escape rooms. They even payed someone to hold a gun to his head and throw him into a car blindfolded. This is just textbook kidnapping. Then in some places, for any crime that would reasonably happen during your crime, you can get the full penalty for it, even if it was unplanned and done by a partner. Since they all conspired to kidnapp and mentally torture him, the murder that Cole committed would be blamed on them collectively. This could be judged as second degree murder for all of them.

If I was the protagonist I would have screamed at my friend

i would have done this if it was me
Won’t that give him more hate?

So would everyone participating in the prank be charged with manslaughter? Cause cole can’t be charged with anything as he was being lead to believe his life was in danger
Cole wouldn't be charged because he thought his life was in danger but his friends would get LOTS of time for doing this.
Yes they all would be charged
I dunno... are all the laws the same in Russia as they are in the States?

I feel so bad for the poor guy. I can't imagine having to live with the fact you murdered someone, only to find out everything was just a prank. I'd say to get the hell away from those friends, and get some very well needed therapy.
This is like that situation IRL where someone like threatened a man but it was a prank and the man killed the other man out of self defense because he was holding a clever I think, his last words were"it was just a prank bro".
Hes friends fualt bicous they fucking prank him like that what they expect
Why I wanna be a loner
@Anthony Thatcher his freids were dicks
@Kyra Morales Why would you look at the comments before watching the video, even though you know the comments are gonna be about the video?
That ending just pisses me off so much. Even though I know it’s just a movie, I just can’t get over it.
If I were the main character in that movie I’d be like “I’m never speaking to any of you ever again. In fact, looking at you right now is making me sick so I gonna go fly home by myself. Then, when I get home, I going to move so none of you psychos know where I live anymore.”
ikr i'm genuinely so annoyed at it. Like they're probably gonna have to sentence him for murder now as well
@@mendumdivus1996 considering he thought all his friends had just been tortured to death, and was trying to survive himself, he probably wouldn’t be sent to jail. Though he might be given mandatory Therapy(he certainly needs it).
Not sure how him being in Russia at the time will affect this though.
@@mendumdivus1996 it would probably just count as self defense, not murder because the guy thought he was in actual danger.
I would've hired an assassin once I love away
@@_LunarDragon The US would bring him back through the embassy. At which point the courts would most likely declare all his friends guilty of Felony Murder. They imprisoned the protag against his will and someone ended up dying because of it.
I love that the girlfriend, who just helped put him through the worlds most f**ked up prank ever, looks like 'OMG what did you just do' 😅 That's honestly the most ridiculous nonsensical ending to a horror movie ever 😅
So the whole thing was a prank..
@@sosacanyouhang2970 yeah in the video he explains how the “friends” show the mc videos of how they faked everything. But him killing Alexi at the end was real.
Death count of one is actually pretty low considering how realistic it is and how much possibility there is for something to go wrong. I mean if he got hold of any real weapons like those scalpels etc. or even brick, I am sure at least one "guard" would die as well.
Just a prank bro, just a prank.
Spoiler
This is the first vid I watched of this channel and now im addicted
He has terrible friends, like why would they think that doing a INSANELY realistic torture prank on him not make him think it was real?!
vlogers are sometimes straight up frightening
this movie shows the reality we're facing right now in real world. How many times have we seen dumb kids physically and mentally hurt and harm strangers or their friends then say it's a prank relax man like it will erase everything. This movie is sending that message. You can't play a joke that's so real and expect people not to react to it. In this case, Cole ended up killing the guy
@@khoado123 truly
@Jonehones And it went to court as well. If I remember correctly and if we're talking about the same guy.
Someone hit my head to forget please
Me: *watching this in case ANY of these scenarios happens to me*
I really said “chances are low but never zero”
That’s exactly what I’m thinking
Tbh I wouldnt have gotten in this situation in the first place
It’s what almost everyone who watches this channel is thinking.
Imagine beating a guy to death but then he says “ITS JUST A JOKE BRO”
I would be surprised bc he came back from the dead :o
@@zzzrrv nah as he’s dieing he says it
@@zzzrrv Was just thinking this lol.
@@zzzrrv he did phrase that sentence wrong
A guy got shot just like that. no jk.
This just takes "It's just a prank bro" to a hole new level.
Cole is the only guy to break the metal thing instead of the glass in all horror movies
True
In he's defence that's clearly bulletproof glass that can withstand several hits from a bodybuilder with a slagehammer , while the iron thing was both rusty and losse
@@whiteobama9366 I think that's the point. Nobody in these movies ever tries a different method. He did.
*girlfriend gets executed and you’re being kidnapped
Cinema summary: “ok, this is a bad situation”
He didn’t lie.
*You don’t say?*
My biggest question is: WHY DID HIS "FRIENDS" DO THIS? and why didn't they stop him from beating Alexi to death?
That's my question
Because it's a bad movie
Because it's fake
@@darrenting5053 in what way?
Cuz there were no lights
