I worked as a teacher in Oman for 18 years and love the country and it's very hospitable people. Love Nakhl Barka Rustaq Nizwa and Salalah in the south of Oman. God bless the Sultan and the country of Oman
What a wonderful and precious way to live and chemical free too. I hope nothing changes in the future and the perfect balanced lifestyle is maintained. The world has a lot to learn from the Omanis agriculture.
Love the terracing. Making sure there is less bareground where they are growing crops is important, too. They need more plants outside the buildings to further modify the weather effects.
❤ for Oman. I worked as Specialist Surgeon in Oman for 7 years. Very good people ,down to earth. May Allah SWT bless upon the LATE SULTAN QABOOS bin SAEED. AAMEEN❤
That's the perfect place to have a remote working setup. Enjoy a slower way of life while participating in a modern economy. I like the revival of the old homes with guest houses. It gives the locals an economic incentive to keep the place alive.
@@SabarishRenganathan-ct3jd hopefully when it becomes safe you would enjoy it But you still can visit the state in Oman border it has some of the most amazing places as well including hawf with the protect forest
It is the vertical height of the rocky mountains that collect atmospheric moistures during night time that made natural spring water sources gravitized downward
This mountainous area is good for citrus plantation too , as it is well expose to sunlight with atmospheric moisture needed for oranges and other citrus plants
Oman seems to be a country how society in Islamic country should be, without extremisms. They are not rich but not poor either, perfect balance, I would love to go to see Oman for years now and I will
The humidity at the top of the mountain is at a higher temperature than if it were at a much lower level. As the humidity within the wind descends, the humidity gets colder, condenses on the plants’ stems and leaves, and then drips onto the ground, watering the plants. It is a great way to irrigate crops, using the difference in temperature of the 2 levels.
They need to dig swales all over the mountains above the aquifers and figure out a way to start planting other swales in order to recharge the aquifers...swales everywhere!!!!
they cant do that becasue the land is either rocks or sand....those ricks and sand cant retain waters. Most of Omani land are like that only thin layers of soils so they had to built the soils themselves.
Urbanization has increased the need for water. Maybe someday their children will want to travel and live in safe Tower cities connected to maglev Trains. So then many different people will need to stay there for 1-3 months to take care of these beautiful oases, like after their children all desert these places. They’ll have computer instructions on what to do. We don’t want to have everyone stop caring for them. And they can’t leave until they have someone to replace them. It will be the same for many places. Of course, anyone can stay as long as they want, including these families, but in the future they might like to see the world in Trains, and it will be a cooperative worldwide system.
One of the things never discussed is how they protect those Oasis by keeping labor costs low. Look at how rough that terrain is, and how close the Date Palm trees are. There's zero way to get machinery in there to "increase" the crop size like we see in Western nations, however, while that means that manual labor is the only real way to tend the grounds.... you have to be very careful with things that will have a negative impact on the cost of labor. Drive up the costs by increasing regulations, taxes, laws, and policies that sound good... and you destroy the ability of the Oasis to function because the product cannot be sold for enough to pay for the labor. This is exactly what happened in the Western Nations. In the US, the area along the Great Lakes was once a powerhouse of manufacturing, with goods shipped all over the world. Today, it's known as "The Rust Belt" because all of those factories have been closed down. It wasn't just one thing, obviously, but when you have a whole bunch of different things converging.... your system will be killed. Everyone talks about the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, but never about the million straws that came before it and how they made it impossible for the camel to be healthy and productive. Western Nations could do as we see in this documentary because we know they used to do it as seen here. The problem is that they've made it impossible through all the many layers of regulations, laws, social norms, etc.
If you're concerned about their freedom & place in society ,women in islam & in oman are very well respected and have the freedom they want. People are very conservative its not that the women are oppressed its just the culture & tradition that women often dont like to be on camera or gain alot of attention ,i dont know how to say this best but i think you get the point ,oman is one of the richest countries in the world & i ve been to oman many times i had male & female friends there you can see women in every corner of the big cities & towns ,this place looks like a village so its very understandable that the people are extra conservative not oppressive if thats what you're worried about ,oman is one of the safest places for women even more than places like Sweden, Norway,USA etc. ❤❤ i just wanted to say all that i know thats probably not what you were asking!!!😅
The desert would be good for growing exotic fruits too and I think the middle east should plant the ash tree because they got alot of curly hair, date and palm trees are sort of like Chinese people trees.
Instead of going into war with other countries why wouldn't the omani govt look unto this kind of situation and act to expand this kind of vegetation so there is no famine.
Desert is not about sand, but the amount of rainfall. Antarctica is a desert, but contains most of the world's freshwater. This is because it snows rather than rains and is a dry environment.
Not too syrupy? Nobody can survive in the modern world doing this medieval agriculture. Nor can I see massive western tourism to support it - I would be afraid to go there. I guess it has to be financed by the government from oil revenues - but that needs a different movie to promote
Why not? Because you couldn't have internet and the latest cellphone? That was the point of the tourism concept, to live the simple life of these people. It may be subsistence living, but they seem happy. Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses...

What a wonderful and precious way to live and chemical free too. I hope nothing changes in the future and the perfect balanced lifestyle is maintained. The world has a lot to learn from the Omanis agriculture.
This is a Wonderful example of how to correctly live with nature and protect precious resources like water and human kindness. ❤❤

Love the rose garden! Beautiful people and country
Thriving in harsh conditions ☀️☀️

Salamunaleykum akhi, how did you get there and would you recommend to do Hijra to Oman?
I hope and pray that these oases remain like that without being disturbed by outsiders.
These terraces should be protected and remain forever as omani heritage
MashaAllah beautiful country ❤

Is that a or are you serious? 🙂
Good point. Two tiered society.

It's a fair question, even if you know "the answer."
I was going to ask the same thing.
women and men have their own designated areas where they can take baths
Unfortunately the water table underground may run out of water eventually.

They could use water in the town then treat and recycle it back to the terraces. Cycling the water and reducing waste.

Those gardens aren’t hanging per se…
They are hanging, the definition being a garden built on terraced sloping ground. Can also be a balcony or a roof top.
Urbanisation endangers water resources. It brings with it modern life, washing machines and dishwashers.
