- Little People, Big World was a huge part of our lives - but it was time to walk away. The show brought us so many amazing opportunities, great memories and so much fun. But it also challenged us to set better boundaries with filming and our kids, cope with not-so-accurate depictions of our lives and face family difficulties. It was a great run, but we needed an adult in the room. And we made that move.
This is Raising Heights with Zach and Tori Roloff. We’re here today to celebrate the next big move in our lives and careers, and address the elephant in the room: why we chose to leave the show.

I seriously ran into your mother in the airport in Detroit, she was on the same flight as me coming from Portland. My granddaughter spotted her and we both just said hi Amy, how are you as if she was an old friend. We did not want to make a spectacle of her or make her feel as though She was not like just anybody else. We just wanted to respect her peace and space to travel to see her father without people mobbing her. She was very nice and said hello and how are you and she complemented my granddaughters shirt. It was so sweet.
If you wanted give her peace, you should have said nothing. Respect her privacy
I agree, that's how we should all treat each other all the time. We are all people, we just do different things for a living.
I’m proud of you for listening to your children and taking their feelings into consideration. I have watched you for years and I have enjoyed watching you grow up into the young adults that you are now. I’ve always felt like you all were just like the people next door. I liked, commented and subscribed. Thank you for keeping it real.
I live in the same area they do and shop at the same grocery store, I've always been torn as to what I would do. I know I would want my privacy, but it's so neat to know that you're reaching people.

20 years on television is a long time and very rare. I feel like the show has run it's course. My favorite years of the show were the early years when you were all together on the farm.
The best time was definitely back then before all the drama. I felt like the show ran its course many years ago and was surprised when it continued these last few years, especially after the divorce.

Reality tv didn't tear this family apart. Not being able to forgive did. Holding grudges and hanging on to hate keeps the wounds open and painful.
Yeah Idk if that is everything. Don't forget the youngest was sexual abused by someone on the crew. A lot of hurt in those 17 years.

Troy needs to let Zach talk. He was on the show for years before her and people would like to hear more of his perspective than Tori's. She is okay but she needs to let him talk.
I am in a wheelchair with Cerebral Palsy yall have help me be my self and overcome my challenges in my life and yes i have watched every episode little people big world and will be watching every episode of the podcast please know that I am y’all number one fan ❤

I haven't even watched all the seasons.But what I have noticed is she interrupts him a lot.She wants Appreciation from him but doesn't Seem to know that she has to give it also.

I love the fact that Jackson feels he can state his opinion as to what he doesn't want filmed. It shows you two are great parents.

I am glad that you chose to walk away from the show when Jackson started not wanting to be filmed. That is a sign of great parenting

I would love to hear Zach have a chance to finish his sentences. Maybe you should do that thing where you pass the ball back and forth when each person has the floor. Zachary is a smart and thoughtful young man and I really think we missed out on much of his input due to Tori's constant interruptions.

Would love to hear Zach be able to finish his thoughts. Tori, it's okay to wait, let him finish, have a moment of silence and let him think. You may want to talk fast and it may be hard for you to wait but please try it. It is too hard to listen otherwise.

I just need to tell you how much how normal you were on the show is what helped me in my life before having a granddaughter with dwarfism and after. I made my mom who is 92 watch your show which helps her understand. Thank you for sharing with us. I hope reruns will be on so my granddaughter can watch as she grows up. Love everything you all have done
I’ve been watching the show for the last 20years with my mum and I do want to thank you for sharing over the years. I know not everything has been perfect but I was young when this started and I’m only just starting to realise how much representation is important. I think you have been great parents and you have helped create better understanding across the world.

I was thinking the same thing. It was difficult to watch this as her constant interrupting was so very annoying.

Tori, I think you are an amazing woman I have watched you for years and I say kudos to you. You love your husband and he loves you. I love your relationship gives me hope

Tori is so interrupting Zach when he tries to speak. I think Tori is taking over Zach's words because I think she feels he needs a little help on his conversations. Tori over talk Zach because he has been shy in the past but now he is a grown man so Tori let Zach speak. I feel the show has run its course.
I couldn't finish watching because she was irritating me doing this. Like a know it all.

You hit it EXACTLY!!!! Our family from the 1st episode, watched because our oldest son was born with Achondroplasia dwarfism in 2002, and your show gave us a such a great hope on how his future could be and the goals that are attainable. Also just alot of information on the life of a person with dwarfism and disability on a whole. Thank you for that. God bless you all. 💛
Zack made a lot of sense about doors not opening when you’re comfortable. I’m 41 but my job is wearing on me and effecting my mental health. But im comfortable. Good for you Zack and Tori!

After watching this episode, I have a new respect for you, Zach. The editing of LPBW didn’t always show you in the best light. Tori, you mention you keep interrupting him, if you let him finish his thoughts, it will make these episodes more enjoyable to watch and listen. Thanks for sharing the reality of “reality” tv.

She'll always drop everything if any of you need her in a minute. Pretty awesome mom . I miss my mom she just went to heaven. So just because you're not doing the show ,please keep close with her. She exudes pure love!! We never know how long we have together.

Zach breaking down the behind the scenes is so enlightening. I lost my father yrs ago and my mom last mo to cancer so watching the breakdown in the relationship(s) w/Matt’s been heartbreaking. I’ve prayed that your family can reconcile one way or another (maybe it’s already happened). Good on you both for being true to actual reality over $. Side note: I don’t see Tori “interrupting” in a bad way. My take, from the show to the pod is that these two are very in sync w/one another and she helps elaborate Zach’s points. If he’s not bothered, why is anyone else?! Girl, your external word processing salad is just fine! Lol 😉
We have seen enough years with this family. They are actually no different than you me or the person next door. It's time to let the whole show go.

Finding out your dad and one of his employees were betraying the family with extreme pain to Amy from adultry.
It's normal for couples to do this when they're comfortable with each other and are not acting by rules, i think they are used to finishing each others sentences 😂😂😂 and like it too.
I may be wrong, but I do believe that Caryn was a real problem for the family. She should not have been involved at all in the conversation between Matt and Zach and the farm. As I recall, she shut it down! At the time, she was just a girlfriend. Non of your business girlfriend 😊
This is the first time I've seen your podcast show (I don't listen to podcasts so I'm glad you have it on youtube); now I have to go back & watch #1 & 2! Your conversation here is truly excellent and so educational & poignant. I would like to tell you one important thing and hope you see my comment: Everyone's story is important to share, even the average boring parts. Like Tori said, it's about being relatable, and finding comfort in commonality with each other so we don't feel different or isolated.
I've always believed that each & every person should make a book about their lives to share with others, whether it's for their kids/family or others in the world. You never know what thing, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant, will be the thing that touches another human and possibly even changes their lives. I'm so glad you are good humans, raising more good humans, and that I got to learn so much from all of you. Thank you both for sharing. I hope you continue with this!
I will miss seeing your sweet family, so much! I really don’t see how the show will go on without the kids. I’ve been watching the show since the very first episode. I grew up watching little people big world and catching all of the latest seasons. Being almost 30 now, I still keep up with the show and I will say I will miss it so much. But I 1000% understand and respect your decision to move on and form healthier bonds with your family and not force your kids into reality tv. It has to be difficult. I look forward to your podcasts ❤️
Of course podcast is their next direction what else is there when neither WORK. Giving up that income will smack reality fast.

I love being able to see you guys in this new light. You two were my favorite part of little people big world! I hope one day you can get back into reality tv with just your kids and you two. Seeing people who are down to earth on tv was so refreshing. I hope you guys can enjoy this break but I also hope to see you guys back soon!
One thing I will say, I’ve watched the show from the get-go. It really opened my eyes to the challenges that “little” people face. Y’all’s family has been a beacon to showing how great y’all really are every day. This old man can appreciate what the show has done. We will definitely miss everyone not being on the show.
I'm always on social media, the internet, etc. but I've never gotten into podcasts. In fact, this is my first and I'm hooked and now will be a regular listener. I've very much enjoyed hearing Zach open up and discuss so many things. Great podcast, guys! Thank you.

I like how you both think. You are right. I worked in the film industry for 40 years. People used to say How fun! I would be thinking, not today! Especially reality Television! The producers want cliff hangers, drama, people will continue watching. You are wise to limit your kids to normal lives. You both have grown up on tv. You are doing really well. Bravo
LPBW was always among the least toxic of all the reality shows. They were lucky in that regard. It was more of a 'day in the life', educational vibe.
All the shows that you were the costume designer on, that is absolutely amazing.

I will miss Amy Chris Zack and Tori and of course the sweet children
I live by them and I can tell you Amy was a difficult person to be around over the years. Very aggressive. I'm sure she didn't mean to act that way, but that seem to be her normal personality. It was a lot. When crews weren't filming and she was shopping in Fred Meyer off of Imbrie RD when the kids were younger, she would be so loud and obnoxious for zero reason. At the farm during pumpkin season, she wasn't like that. Not sure if filming was happening or not. Zach coached my daughters indoor soccer team back in the day...he is the nice, rather shy one. His personality was really good with the kids. The young kids on the team liked him. Jeremy....he treated Zach like crap often times. They'd be skate boarding outside of Faith Bible and Jeremy and his friends were downright cruel to Zach sometimes. Even though it was when they were teens, the reason for the cruelty was pathetic on Jer's part. Matt has always been nice and cordial in public, even when cameras weren't rolling. He had that same cordial and nice demeanor on the farm during pumpkin season too. So when I do see them on tv, I see Amy acting different and Matt maintaining the same personality. Rather calm and nice. No one's perfect mind you, but you guys clearly fell for the script.

Although our daughter does not have dwarfism, as a mother of a child who had 20 facial, oral and head surgeries, seizures and a VP shunt, by the time she was 16, due to a genetic syndrome, I loved watching the show. I loved seeing our family represented in the media. So much hope was given to us by watching your family grow up, and your own children thriving. Thank you for sharing that with us, I know that it did not come with a personal cost. ❤
Tori mentioning her favorite moment on the show of Zach and Jeremy reminded me of mine. Which was how Zach was desperate for a Mt Dew the whole trip. I still laugh about that occasionally when I see a Mt Dew. I also loved Zach's van + military hat. They were like solid PROPS for him while filming. Young Zach can be summed with military hat, mt dew and his mini van. I remember when he decorated the inside of the van. Love it. So happy to continue on this journey with you guys via the podcast. Praying your family relationships grow stronger after stepping away from the show.
I think Tori hit the nail on the head. It was so much fun to watch Zach ho from a young boy who didn’t have that much confidence to a confident man - as a result of meeting you, who loves him unconditionally!!❤
Zach speaks so eloquently about filming reality tv. He knows how he feels and gives a honest perspective on that situation. Very impressive 😊. Tori and Zach make a great couple and are great parents😍🥰😘

I've watched the show from the start. A fact that is undeniable is your family has single handedly opened everyone's eyes to the challenges of little people. Right or wrong, I think that people are better for having learned to be comfortable and acceptance of "little" people because of you. You did that! 😀
Ugh I wanted to hear more from Zach! He seemed to have a different outlook and thoughts of his own but Tori interrupted him constantly and took it in a different direction.
Totally confused..she is terrible at interviewing..never lets him finish his thoughts....

I love this! I can't even handle that the show started 20 years ago. Being apart of the LP community D11 family it is wild that LPBW has been on air for so long. I was at the district meeting shown in the 1st season 2nd show doing Zach's hair, this ABSOLUTELY BLOWS my mind and makes me feel so old!

As a fan of "the show" from the beginning, I completely understand the depths of your decision as a couple. Sometimes we/I found myself overjoyed with happiness, while at other times, I/we found ourselves overcome with sadness... As a fan, watching with my heart, I respect & honor the love/privacy you both wish for your children. Please know that there are those of us "fans", who are really, regular, everyday folk that simply wish you (ALL) well... Sending so much love!!!

My favorite part of the show was watching your parents build a kitchen sized for little people and all the hurdles they had to overcome to get it done. But THEY DID IT!

Stay financially comfortable lol. It’s hard struggling and adds stress that ruins lives and families. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does make stress go away and that’s HUGE! I love Zach’s dad. Be happy for him and his fiancée.
Props to Zach in explaining what it actually feels like filming reality tv. I've seen a number of podcasts like this and you describe your thoughts, feelings, and intentions more clearly and concisely than any of them. Really sound like a natural truth teller to me. Impressed.

I will be honest.... the last couple of years of me watching the show was to see what Y'ALL were up to. I miss your other siblings and hearing how they were doing. I COULD NOT EVEN imagine leaving in that type of bubble your whole life. THANK You for sticking out as long as you did. I, personally, think your Dad did you so very wrong. PERIOD.

What I find utterly so sad is that Zach and Tori have no concept, nor seem to care, that Matt and Amy put nearly their whole lives into that farm. They bought and paid for the farm and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars doing so, along with building improvements everywhere. Matt did the majority of that as the main bread winner while Amy cared for the children. When Amy and Matt split up, Matt had to buy Amy out at current market values...which was probably more than the entire price paid when they first purchased it together.
Then Zach and Tori seem to believe it should be worth it to Matt, (for his grandkids), to sell them the farm at a very reduced price because they are family. So by the time Matt loses all that money plus what he had to buy Amy out for, he would have walked away with very little for all his many years of hard work.
Zach and Tori also got so mad when Caryn was there to support Matt as she supported them with their first two babies while Amy was finding herself again. Caryn was so good to those little kids and it is clear they adored her. And in true entitled brat form, they severed that relationship as punishment for her defending and supporting her future husband. Clearly she is family to Matt since they had already purchased a home in Arizona together. When I watched them have Jackson tell Matt and Caryn they were moving, I thought what cowards they were and what entitled brats they were to think that farm should be handed over to them for cents on the dollar after nearly 30 years of blood, sweat, tears, and dollars by Matt and with some very hard physical disabilities to push through as well.
'What is it worth to you to have your grandkids on the farm?' And he screwed the family over? Amy got her share...Matt has paid for that property twice already just in monetary value...not including the work...and you would have him pay for it once again so you get it cut throat cheap for Matt's grandkids? And have him still do the work while you call the shots? JUST WOW!
I think Matt needs to make sure that his last Will and Testament not include Zach and any other son/daughter that does not support his future life with Caryn. Matt and Amy have been able to mend things for the good of the family. Rolloff kids look at the example that Amy and Matt are setting up for you to learn.
Entitled says it all. Throwing a fit over not getting to rip your dad off is complete entitlement.
Matt worked hard so they had everything they ever wanted. It’s a shame they don’t live the Christian values they espoused in the early years.
Tori, let Zack talk. You wear the pants, no one doubts that. You and Amy are bullies.
Last thing l heard Matt still owes Amy over 900.,000 dollars and of course there’s resentment Matt had affair with that woman for long time amy found out when she saw pictures on Matt’s phone also at that time the mistresses kids were not of age and her husband had stipulation in divorce that she couldn’t take her kids on the show and how can we forget when Zack went to ficus’s farm with father isn’t she the one that said we are done here

Zach, would love to hear more of your perspective on reality tv. Your perspective here shows that you have deeper insight into its effects in numerous areas of life and relationships including public ones. You both have great insights, it would just be better if Zach had room to finish his thoughts fully before Tori jumps in.

First time seeing your podcast, and I enjoyed hearing both of you discuss the multi layers of your decision. It really is a feel good and so cool to see how much you both have grown and matured and still stay grounded to real life issues. Haven't watch LPBW since Jackson's toddler days, because of how dramatic they, the producers, made the split/divorce/communication farther and farther from the original appeal of the show. Very enlightening to see both of you articulate the highs and lows of the whole LPBW experience. "The emphasis is not the reality" is such an excellent perspective to help us, the audience of the show, understand. I look fwd to seeing/listening to more episodes. 😊✌
Love you both, your a great couple. I think your show changed the way the world looks at little people. I mean that in a positive way. We all have our differences, but your show knocked the door down when it comes to how little people are viewed. We grew to love your family and saw them as regular people not just little people. Your family was just so relatable. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Total respect that you are moving on from the show. Well the Duggar family's patriarch JimDog and his oldest son are pedos. The mom subjects her girls to be sexually exploited by them is disgusting. Hiding their son VS making him accountable for molesting his sisters was vile they should have been held accountable by laws and courts but under the veil of evil corporations outing money first they were protected. My point Roloffs are not like Duggars.
I'm sad for us viewers, but happy for you and definitely happy for your kids to not grow up in the spotlight. You were the only reason I watched the last couple of years of the show. Wishing you guys the best.

I remember first seeing the show appear on TLC when I was a kid. I was really intrigued and inspired! I haven't followed your journey at all, but it's nice to see you all these years later looking for your passion and following your gut instincts and being there for your family in a way that feels right for you :) good luck!
You as a family do what you need to do, but as someone who has watched the show for most of those 20 years, I can tell you, the show, I believe helped more people understand little people a lot better. More so in the beginning as it was really geared around showing the obstacles you faced.
RUclips is the highest paying platform at 40% of the ad revenue. If you can continue this platform I do believe this revenue stream and other social media platforms such as Tik Tok, Instagram etc could easily replace the income earned on Little People Big world. Not to mention the possible branding deals, for all Zach's soccer experience I am sure there are brands of equipment that he prefers. Tori as a mother of three I am sure has children's clothing brands, household goods and foods that she prefers to serve her children leaving her wide open to getting episode sponsors and branding deals.
Unfortunately we all have a tendency to interrupt others when supposedly having a conversation with them. So, unless you’re a person who has “never” interrupted anyone while in conversation good for you. Hearing Tori & Zachary Roloff say their “goodbyes” to their being on the show is pretty powerful! Gonna miss you both, but whatever you 2 decide to do off camera(s) I really wish you all the very best in your future! Will also miss seeing the kids grow up to whatever age they’d get to. I subscribed too Foxtel in Australia in 2007 - purely to watch “big world little people” and have followed and loved watching your family all this time. I live in Sydney, and can’t drive over the cahill expressway (the main road that drives in front of the harbour bridge, harbour) and look up at the restaurant where you guys ate without thinking about you all. And I love your podcast - because you’re so natural - please continue living your best lives. ❤️❤️❤️
I do love that your show, among a few others, showed us some challenges in dwarfism. My two granddaughters are noticeably small, albeit just petite. I talked to one about cars having modifications. My 8-year old wants to drive and dreamt of just steering while her brother did the pedals.
I may introduce the grandkids to old episodes just for them to see differences in people.
