I have the 2240XL coming in soon and am looking into some upgrades so it can go over 500-600 fps. It still amazes me how much power one can get from these cheaper starter pistols.😎🇺🇸
Co2 will only give you some much power. The most power i ever got from a 2240 was close to 500+ fps with a 13inch barrel. To get power you will need to convert to pcp
@@airgunsofidaho4886 I am already looking into that option after I have some. target fun indoors first. What would you recommend I start off with where I can reach 700 fps and get around 30-40 shots between refills? So many options and I am trying too avoid going down the money rabbit hole. Much appreciated.
The valves give lot of power. The only thing is you only get a few shot. Like 10 if you use a regulator then the power will drop to a more usable speed and you can get more consistent speeds. But if your only looking for power. You should be able to achieve the power your looking for or even more then you want. I'll try to make a few more videos when the weather allows me. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Cool gun. I was able to to get my 2240 to shoot 940 fps. I duplicated the one air velocity built. It took a few months and good chunk of money lol . The pellets I used where 14.3 gr.
BRIAN I changed the valve to a max flow valve. I put a Dan cothran cooking system on it to. Open the port a little. Raised the regulator to 1500 . It has a 18and a half in barrel.
@@matthewsandoval5931 and that got you over 900 ft per second? I have pretty much identically the same setup minus the cocking set up and I'm running a 14" barrel with a 13 ci HPA bottle and I'm only cracking barely 800.
This is VERY cool ! Maybe next time explain why you have the fishing line attached to the regulator. I know it is for removal because once it's in, it's nearly impossible to remove without a string attached.
And I like your videos bcuz I can friggin understand wth you are saying and doing without straining any gray matter...you really are about the most articulate of the channels I look at. Hi , why did you not just cut the barrel to your 14 " L. and then cut your air tube to the length you wanted and then re-thread your air tube for your end plug and fill fitting . It would of been a lot easier and a lot cheaper . Did you say you are using CO-2 in it ? I did like your idea and video :=} .
I am just waiting for my press and diys. I can make .177 slugs but only 15gr slugs when I get the press. I should be all to make 12 - 22gn or maybe 24gn
From my understanding of airguns alot of power can be easily made no matter how long or short the barrel as long as you're willing to it lose a lot of air doing it. And probably definitely the reason why you able to lessen the power by half by using a regulator because of that restricting the air from escaping out each shot. I've got a regulator to put into my Maximus I have not installed it yet and I'm not really concerned about maximum power has more as maximum consistency.
Thanks for the reply plus I've just found a benjamin marauder rifle main tube with the power valve and gauge system and hammer what modifications would I need to do to it and would the crosman 2250xl trigger frame and steel breech fit or would it need modifying to fit ?
@@eddiehughes9137 you need a Benjamin marauder Gen 1 air tube. The 2240 trigger well work but you would still need a breech screw on the breech to hold it.

I only get 3-4 shots from this air pistol on high power. The groups are pretty good for a high power pistol. With the huma reg I get about 10 shots and the accuracy is a little bit better. It's a very fun gun to shot.
No. I only build a few air gun for myself. Its to expensive to be build airguns. You can get much better airguns for the price. I think I expend 550 -600 dollars on this pistol. The airforce talon p is only $450 and a much better airguns.
He is not getting 40 fpe. From this gun. Why doesn't he prove it buy showing crony testing. He never does. He thinks wrongly that a longer barrel will increase power drastically. He can waste all the money he wants he needs to prove it and he cant

Imagine spending 700 dollars on an airgun when a 10/22 is 400
Wow, if you chambered the long barrel in 5.5 you wud get darn near 22 rimfire

Good job and а great video! Can you tell us more about the valve? Is it homemade or commercially available?

Such few shots though. I like the bottle gun conversions a little better for that reason...

Would an extension to the original tube be as effective as the machined tube that you have on there?
I'm not sure. But those co2 2240 high pack aren't safe.
So I'm guessing it's now PCP rather than CO2?
Since nobody answered u , yes sir ..turns it into a PCP
