These lyrics never get old. Graham the spirit of God rested on you when you penned these simple words. In my later years, tears still run down my cheeks when I hear it.
I didn't know till now that he is the writer.wow.Anytime I play this song, people always asked about the composer. The spirit of God indeed led him to write and sing this song
The first time I heard this song was when it was ministered in my church, The first love church. The lyrics sunk in and I meditate on it from time to time. I love this song m❤❤
I was 5 years old when this song came out and I remember dancing to it in my church as a little girl during worship. The Lord brings me back to this song in key times of my life. There is nothing greater in this life than KNOWING Jesus.
One of the men who literally built my faith in the 1990s after I received Christ...thank you Graham Kendrick! Because of your music, and many other worship leaders of that generation, my faith grew and Jesus Christ has sustained me to this day.
This song is drawn from Philippians 3. Paul by the time he was writing it had some high degree of maturity in his relationship with Christ. Yet he admitted that he hadn’t achieved it all. This depicts such a deep deep intimacy with Jesus. The confidence, friendship and love He & our Lord shared is just amazing and awesome. The Holy Spirit reminded of this song at a season of my life where (from my human perspective) is really dark, low, feeling really lost sad and lonely. Yet I feel strengthened to raise my eyes & being to Jesus who is Emmanuel - the One who will never leave nor forsake us no matter who or what happens to our lives. I love that Jesus is our joy & righteousness. This is the confidence I have somewhere deep in my spirit that Jesus is here with me. May He help me to truly love Him more. In every of my life circumstance, may (by His grace & mercy) be found with a deeper love for Him. That is what truly counts and makes us count. Knowing & being known by the One who lovingly formed us. Praise Jesus. Amen.
We sang this song at our wedding 25 years ago. Jesus continues to lead us in knowing him better each day as we serve him in W. Africa. Thank you for this beautiful recording.
The words of this song is fitting for this time elections, they sanf this song in church Saturday and the words were comforting to remind us who is still in charge of the affairs of the earth. Thank you. We will be having a prayer for this nation on Tuesday. Encourage others to pray for our country.
Thank God for songs like these that gives another expression to what is truly inexpressible - the greatness of knowing Christ Jesus who was crucified and raised for us! 🙌🏼
I Love this song it takes me back to when I was first Saved In July 1975. My first Album of Graham's music was Paid on the Nail with Peter Row. I still have it . Praise God for this wonderful ministry that is sharing The Love of Jesus with so many people across the World. Amen 🤗
I had not heard this song until this morning. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth quoted the lyrics on today’s Revive Our Hearts episode so I had to look it up. The song is so beautiful and expresses my heart’s desire!
I am listening in 2024😊. Learned the song as a praise team in my country and the lyrics stuck over 10yrs now and i felt led to find it, helps me as I meditate on Phil 3...
This song reminds me, through all the darkness and terror and pain and suffering, that we are seeing and experiencing in this world, our greatest and most precious thing is to know Jesus going through them all, and knowing He is there in our future and at the end. Let us keep our eyes on Him, the author and finisher of our faith! Thanks again, Graham, and may the Lord be also closer, nearer, deeper, fuller, clearer in you.
Perfect worship song, says everything - to know him in everything, thank you, Lord Yeshua for loving me 1st when I was unlovable and thank you Graham for this beautiful hymn. Come soon, Jesus!
Now my Heart''s desire is to know you more. Your are my all in all ,l want to love you more Jesus. Amen 🙏 Beautiful Song God bless you Graham Kendrick, you have such a powerful and anointed voice.
This song has been my life’s mission statement. I hope I can instill this purpose in my kids as they grow up. Thank you, Mr. Kendrick, for allowing God to use you to write such a beautiful song.
Thank you, Mr Graham. I,first ,heard this song from The Promise Keepers Album" The making of a godly man " as a 17year old going to the Polytechnic. And, I thank God for giving you this and, you for releasing it to the world. I love you, Sir, and God bless you.
Yes brother, thanj you ,it us the beautiful worship song We have been signing this beautiful song for a long time in our church ,I am 76 yrs old ,I would like to go to lthe ake shore ( I am in Canada)and looking at the heaven we can worship and thanking our Lord Jesus.
Worship memories are flooding back as I listen to this. Every time I hear it, I hear our late, dearly missed Pastor Roy's voice singing it with gusto. Looking forward to singing it with him again some day soon. Roy died 1 year ago, and whilst I know he's rejoicing, I pray his family know the real peace of God in their continued grief.
I love this song very much, the love to Jesus in the lyrics was just amazing, thank you for your life sir.More than a year when I met Jesus & He change my life.Truly knowing is the best more than the words of this song.Glory to Jesus!
The greatest thing that has ever happened to me is knowing my personal Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What a life time experience... My desire is that I may know Him even better every day.. Philippians 3 vs 10 #PastorAmos_HA 💐🌹🌻🌷🌼🌸💖💯
Thank you brother for letting God work in and through you to write such a beautiful song. Thank you. Holy Spirit stirs in me every time I hear this song. I remember hearing it at a Promise Keepers conference a few years ago. Loved it then. Love it more as it continues to speak to me. To know Jesus! Thank you again brother.
From the album is anyone thirsty about 24years ago,I first heard the song knowing you,it has blessed me, still blessing me I intend to sing the song this Sunday at church.great work sir.
Still one of my favourite worships even though I'm no longer a Christian. Once I realised we only really know what anonymous authors reported about Jesus, I realised nobody really knows him at all.
It's an awesome song. The bible is considered to be historically accurate by many but ultimately we need faith. I recommend John C Lennox's 'Can Science Explain Everything?'. If we truly repent, turn from our sin and believe, we will be saved. God hasn't abandoned us, He designed us to be in relationship with Him and to seek Him, through prayer and His word.
Thanks for the book recommendation. I haven't read that one. It isn't disputed there are many historically accurate things in the Bible. But does that mean everything in it is accurate?
@@ericaamralo5082 What do you mean? But let me ask you; if you listened to the lyrics of a Muslim song, would it make you more likely to believe Islam is true?
@@ohdehhanthe Lord bless you. Your sentiments are nothing new, millions have shared it and most have walked away as well. It is a walk after all, and our Lord Jesus Christ said it is a difficult and narrow path. God is bigger than our doubts and I am sure His hands are still outstretched waiting to welcome you back home. 🎉❤
Thank you for this beautiful song, and thank you for saying on your website that these videos ‘can be used by churches and individuals for worship and reflection.’ Would you be happy for this video to be included in one of our online worship service videos which we post on RUclips and a Facebook?
Any chance I can use this video in our church service this Sunday during COVID-19? It would be spliced in after our pastor's sermon. We don't charge anything to watch.
I’m 78. I’m not fond of performance songs attempting to be sung by a congregation of 75% retired people. I’m looking at the score and lyrics. Changing tempos, 8th notes, dotted quarter notes? Congregations are not trained musicians. I have a background in music, and unless I practice the melody first, I have trouble following along. Great to listen to, difficult for a congregation to sing. Could you take this into consideration when writing your melodies? (For reference, the Getty’s melodies are often much more difficult than this one.) Thank you.
Our faithful loved it & learnt & sung it with no problems at all - young & old. I guess the difference is its a worship hymn. It was a huge favourite in our church & I'm hoping to bring it back! God Bless🙏
@GrahamKendrickMusic Thanks for this! The lyrics have always been among your best and are timeless; this new recording contemporizes the music in such a powerful way. As a worship leader, I love introducing your songs to worshippers who weren’t even born yet when I was cutting my worship-leading teeth on your work in the ‘90s. Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents with the world.
