  • Colleges' use of racial preferences is not a new phenomenon, nor is the use of racial preferences against Asian American students a new issue.
Asian American students brought similar charges-that universities were using racial quotas to limit Asian American enrollment as early as the 1980s.
Any use of racial preferences to give favor to one group of Americans over another is immoral and wrong. It violates our Civil Rights and constitutional freedoms.
Research finds that college officials' use of racial preferences in admissions creates a mismatch between racial and ethnic minority students and the colleges that enroll them. This mismatch results in negative academic and employment outcomes for students.

This really misses that point. The people that got in because of a certain race were indeed qualified as well. There are far more applicants than seats.

"Qualified" should never come before "Most Qualified". And race has nothing to do with how Qualified a person is.

@@TRM83 You completely miss my point.
All are qualified in these circumstances, so it is better to have a more diverse group of people, which includes far more than gender or skin color already. For example, differing socioeconomic backgrounds. Universities already do this, so the courts are behind in trying to make this kind of ruling. It only overcomplicates things.
      Stay school kids!

As the court can only make so many anti left decisions so close in time ...this explains the Roberts role in the Election law case.
Hes trying to save the court...;) unfortunately its far to late.
