    Thanks Mr.Elkadi
    I want to apply residual stress on 4d print processing, and its so useful .

    Appreciating your solidarity of showing your knowledge with us. I am stuck in a problem in same area of modeling. It would be helpful for me if you may explain how to apply the residual stress in shell members. I tried a lot of incorporating same in steel plates, but it is showing the error and analysis was aborted with convergence issues. I have to apply imperfection too.

      The same procedure discussed in these tutorials for applying residual stresses or geomtric imperfections applies for both solids and shells. If you are getting convergence problems, then this is most probably due to other issues with the model such as ill-coditioned BCs or irregular mesh geometry.

    Thank you for your such helpful tutorial video. However, I have a question. Can I use the same method in order to model prestressed rebars in RC beams?

    Hello, thank you for your usefull video,
    I have a question..
    If i have more than 500000 element and i want to assign for every element a risidual stress tensor, could you help me how to perform that ?

    Nice presentation. How do we apply a pre strain or pretension in percentage?

    Thank you for the video. I have a question about the reason of the deformed direction. I was confused that this beam is bended to the right side eventhough initial stress of +100 tension is applied to right part and leftpart is -100 compression. It seems that opposite sing(+ -) of the predefined field stress direction is applied to the beam. Is it related to applied force and reaction force? Would you please explain this more?

    Hello sir, I am trying to use predefined stress that I get from my previous analysis.
    I am trying to transfer explicit analysis result to implicit or standard analysis. However, I got error like below:
    Abaqus Error: The executable standard.exe
    aborted with system error code 1073741795.
    thank you.

    Dear sir, Can you post the video of residual stress prediction of the I section steel beam? I am trying to predict the residual stress of a hot rolled steel beam after water cooling/air cooling.

    Thanks for your video. How can i define initial strain? And can i use your method to define a initial stress field when the stress exceeds the yield stress?

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  3 года назад

      You can indirectly apply a stress. You can compute the stress from Hook's law: Stress = Strain * Modulus of Elasticity

    How to apply residual stress by odb file

    • @mamalojzka
      @mamalojzka 2 месяца назад

      You have to do the same as in the video, except that you have to select "From output database file" at the Specification and point to ODB file. Unfortunately this only works for 3D elements and not for shell elements.
