I am Macedonian
Macedonia is democratic Republic in writing.
But there is a king who has a final say on any decision made in Macedonian parliament.
That King goes by the title - American ambassador in Northern Macedonia.
It makes me ashamed of being Macedonian, but that is reality on the ground.
And as you can imagine, he always tells us how to become more democratic, teaches us about democracy.
And the other day I was listening to Dug Macgregor talking about the voting system in America.
He said in his opinion the person who goes to vote should present an ID card, or passport for identification.
And, I said to myself immediately - Wait a second.
That means, in America you don't have to present identification ID, and still can vote in an election.
In Macedonia, if you don't show your ID card, you will not be allowed to vote. Because without ID card, you may cheat the system.
So, in fact I realised it is me who should teach democracy to the american ambassador, not the other way round.
With what is happening in America in the last few years I can confidently say Macedonia is much more democratic country than US.
Only big problem in Macedonia is the King- the american ambassador.
American's don't even hide when they humiliate others, but I'm still shocked they gave him (your King) such a title!

Scott Ritter, agree 💯 percent. We have ourselves to blame. We the people should have been paying close and constant attention to our government from the outset. When the deep state and their corruption were creeping into our system, we were too lazy and generally self-absorbed as a populace to do our own due diligence. That situation has now blossomed into where we now find ourselves. Peaceful or otherwise, we the people better rise up to save our own lives...NOW.

European liberals were only anti-nuke in the '80s because they hated the conservatives leadership of Thatcher and Reagan, while feeling kinship with the Marxists in the Soviet Union. The US does not base their nuclear weapons at Faslane, the nukes found there are the UK's own nuclear deterrent arsenal. Unless, and until, Scotland decides to become independent, or the UK decides to no longer have a nuclear deterrent then you are going to be stuck with it.

Its actually never discussed. I've often wondered what long term damage nuclear weapons testing has done to the environment. In one of Pilgers documentaries, he said the nuclear weapons testing carried out in the Marshall Islands was the equivalent to the destructive power of a single hiroshima bomb detonated every day for twelve years. I dont know how accurate the claim was but even if it was wrong by 50%, its still absolutely insane and surely there are environmental consequences as a result.
Also: blowing up the NordStream pipeline was the biggest environmental disaster ever, but none of the green/climate people ever talk about it. Ditto 2000lb bombs in Gaza, also releasing CO2. But somehow its the fault of regular people with wood burning stoves...

Study a little History and you will see that "America" is NOT the name of one single country but that of a huge continent. Maybe once U.S.A. finally ceases to be the world´s main superpower, people might go back to using the word "America" in its original and true meaning. Christopher Columbus came to America for the first time in October 1492 and he later sailed back over here on three more occasions. On NONE of those FOUR trips did Columbus ever set foot on what is now US territory. Let me reiterate this: Columbus discovered America, came back to America three more times and never ever was in what is now USA. Then, Europeans gave this new CONTINENT a name: "America". Now..., what does this tell you about the real meaning of the name "America"? Did Columbus "discover America" without ever setting foot in America or is America the name of a huge and diverse continent, of which U.S.A. is only ONE of its many countries? Consider this: if France decided to call itself "United Provinces of Europe", would you then call France "Europe"? How do you think the people in the rest of Europe would react?
You have a good point. I always try to remember to call the U.S. the U.S., and not America, because as you say, North America, Central America, and South America are continents.
