I read Twilight and dozens of other vampire novels, and after a few years my mom was like, “Don’t you…want to read something else?….” Like she didn’t want to buy another one for me, but we’d specifically gone to the book store to pick up the next one in this long series I loved. Now that I’m older and know that I’m queer, I realize that I liked vampire romance so much because it was about as queer as you can get while reading about a heterosexual romance - gender norms are less obvious, you’ve got to talk about what you are and aren’t okay with/consent to because it’s not so heteronormative, there are usually conversations about age and recognizing power dynamics - I loved how explicit it all was (I don’t mean explicit, like dirty, I mean explicit, like in detail). Also, it’s a taboo relationship (not the norm), and all sorts of other parallels.
There is nothing wrong with rewatching feel good comfy shoes and films. Ive watched princess bride 1000s of times. Seaquest dsv and Richard Dean Anderson in MacGyver at least 5 times each. Its mediational, I guess it's my chill and recharge thing

Because it is my birthday and I had a good Father's day "whale"-watching at the local harbour, which is named "Dana Point Harbor", I am willing to consider it a great omen for good favor from the gods who I don't believe in, & so I can set aside my disbelief, my better judgement, & the constraints of reality to offer Dana a gift of either a Hulu TV with no Ads subscription access, or a room to live free of cost if need be, no strings attached, (despite my admiration of Dana's beauty) in a warm subtropical climate near her eponymous harbor if she should otherwise face homelessness, although unfortunately I could not cover travel expemses acrossthe Atlantic + the north American continent to arrive here first. As a kid I was completely ignorant, but since I was perceived as a boy any obsession w/ twilight was absolutely considered weird even while it was popular. American culture is drastically different in different parts of the country so that genuine niceness is dependent on where you visit (Midwest vs NYC is a great example)... That being said, you will experience drastically different experience when perceived as masc vs femme and physically vs invisibly disabled.
BUFFY will rock your world if you're into vampires and romance like TWILIGHT, Buffy is 16, Angel is.... a century older 🤨 ANGEL spun off after season 3 of Buffy so you can watch an episode of each other you get through those. I was a teenager when Buffy was on tv, I watched it. Have you seen the film with Kristy Swanson? Sliders was a good series back in the day, and of course firefly.
As for the TSA thing. I went from NZ not used to seeing guns, to America where everyone security wise was armed. That's freaky enough for me. Speaking of NZ, you could probably get a fair bit of lord of the rings merch over here

i desperately have to suggest since no one else has, that as you maybe do, how about saying "i'm on pip" or "disability" instead of the downer "i'm unemployed" and that would be truth, and at the same time hinting to them you do and will be able to pay ?
You've probably already considered this, but when you go to the viewings and they ask what you do, could you say you’re a content creator instead of saying unemployed?
what about Space 1999? did you watch that? it's kind of like a dumber version of Star Trek but the ship looks like an egg carton and there is a lady that can turn into animals.
