I really enjoyed this and learned a few things. Thanks 😁 I’m new to the gelli printing plate, also frugal and prefer using and creating unique stencils and stamps. I liked your calm concise instruction and information.
Just found you today while I was looking around.. your birds are amazing. I'm a new follower. I just finished your B & W collage papers! Great stencils you made are fantastic!!
So fun! I made stencils/masks using a priority mail envelope it’s held up very well! I have to give credit to someone for the idea but sadly I don’t remember where I saw it! But it works great and it’s free ❤
the nice thing about limiting your palette is that it helps you to see shapes and other things better. I have ADHD and get overwhelmed by too many colors. I also gravitate to some colors over and over again but I really like the more black and white tones.. OR try muddying some of the bright colors down by putting their complementary colors in there..
I really like this. I pulled my plates out after a long hiatus and it is fun to just spend hours pulling all these prints. I just got a bunch of stencils but I made two myself out of cardstock and I wish I had thought to cover them.. cause my owl i made stuck and ripped.. so now I have to go and remake it...
Yeah, coating them with the gloss medium definitely does help! I am still using that stencil from the video, and I think I made that three months ago! ☺️
I wish I had gotten a Cricut cause I think I could make a bunch of stencils easier. but the process of making stencils could possibly be a meditative thing too...
I go back and forth about the Cricut, as well. I just don’t know if the cost justifies the purchase. Would I really make that many stencils? Maybe! Lol. I will probably break down and get one eventually.🤣🤣
New subscriber- Really enjoying your work. Love birds!❤ great stencils. I couldn’t quite get the name of the plastic you use. The transcript said “Dore”. Is that correct? Looking forward to watching more vids! Thanks for sharing.
Hi! It’s called Dura-lar. A friend actually gifted it to me some years ago, but I do believe I have seen it in Michaels if you are in the states! You probably could find it on Amazon, too!☺️
Hi there! That is actually one of my homemade stencils! I will put a link to my last video where I show how I make them!☺️ ruclips.net/video/nK7B1jhcAj8/видео.htmlsi=FcGJ-MwnM0sa-6MH
What an interesting video! Thanks so much for sharing! I saw your handmade rectangle shapes , did you use special paper for it? I want to make it myself....(Hope this is good english) Best regards from Holland.
Hi! That was perfect English! Yes, the paper that I used is called Duralar. You could also use Yupo paper. Both of those are very thin grade sheets of plastic. I cut the shapes out with an X-Acto knife. It’s pretty time-consuming, but it can be done. An alternative for making a stencil is to just use a sheet of sketchpad paper. Once you have everything cut out, you can put a few coats of gloss gel medium over both the front and the back, and it gives it almost a plastic-like coating. It won’t last forever, but it would last for a while and be nearly free to make, and would be a good solution if you can’t find the other two types of plastic sheets! I hope this was helpful!☺️
@@ArtworkByMelissaReed Thanks much Melissa! I do have Yuppo paper, and i will look up X-acto knife....,i was searching for a good knife, so its good you mentioned it! Succes with your art!
Hi! I had the hardest time finding it for a while, but I ended up ordering it off of Amazon. I just went back through my order history, and now it’s $60 for 65 sheets!😳😳😳 I can promise you I did not pay that much, lol. This isn’t the company that I ordered it from, but I’m including a link to what I found for a similar product. Good luck! Hi!! Actually, that was ordered through Amazon several months ago. I haven’t ordered any since then. It seems like it is out of stock quite frequently on there, so you just have to keep checking back to try to catch it. I’m finding, though, that I actually prefer regular tissue paper. You do need to be a bit more careful with it when you are pulling it from the plate, but I find that I can control tearing it much more easily than with the wet strength. Hope that helps! 😊
That’s good to hear. I will try with the regular. I’m pretty careful and usually don’t rip them. Even if I do I figure no big deal. Currently the wet strength is $100. It’s for 480 pieces. Way more than I need. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. 😊
Hi! There definitely isn’t a way, lol. But as you can see, I am a very new channel, and I am learning as I go along! Thank you for your patience, while I figure it all out!☺️
Downvoted because of the music. Tutorials are enough on their own with the voiceover. The music alienates a lot of people. There are many who will be triggered by sensory overload from the visual, voice and music. It's such a shame because it's an interesting video.

Thanks for giving me the courage to use black and white collage papers in my latest art work. Tend to stick with my safe colors.

Hi! If you check out my last two videos, I did mixed media collages with all of my gel prints!☺️
Hi Melissa! Where do you get the wet strength tissue paper?
I’m in Canada and am having a tough time finding it (even online)

Who do you get your wet strength tissue paper from? Amazon had been sold out and now only has it available in large amounts. Thank you.
