dude im turning 30 next month and binged the oc the last couple days FOR THE FIRST TIME. cried a little here and there... absolutely awesome show and i dont know how i could have missed out on this show for this long... im suffering from depression for like 3 years now but this show did something to me.. i dont know what exactly but.. i somehow know what i want from life again and whats important. the walls i built around myself are crumbling. its amazing what a simple show can do to a human. love the soundtracks... especially this one
I don't know anything about the OC but if it gets people to check this band out, then I'm all for it. I once drove a total of 6 hrs (there and back) to see them play live in a tiny club, and it was so worth it.
The OC was all about my Childhood. Now with 34 in 2024 still gives me chills when I listen to their soundtracks. Was such remarkable series that someday I have to visit the place and eat some lobsters.
When this show first came out, I got the "Music from The OC Vol.1" and listened to it all the time while I studied in college. Fast forward to 13 years later, and I am back in college again. I just rewatched the entire series Hulu, and was wondering how many additional volumes of the soundtrack were issued. I got on here hoping someone had created a playlist of ALL of the songs from the show, and you did not disappoint. My GPA and I thank you!
I do miss The O.C.. I' m watching it yet and it always gives me a lot of emotions... Marissa didn't have to die :( it is sooo sad... thank you Swartz for this masterpiece... and this song is special too!!
I first really watched it Commitedly in 2014,I was 33! So YES you are cool and exposed to great music , as well. I Wanted to watch it 2003/2004 just didn't have stable housing nor was I in one place to really watch a show regularly. boy this is a great song, a LONG one

I loved this song I just finished rewatching the show a few days ago so yeah to be honest I actually liked season 4, I did miss Marissa I would live to see her growing up this last season but it didn't so I just enjoyed what I got

I admit I am a man and cry for that series, it reflects the whole young life, except that I get mad when ryan and marissa end xD PS: I'm looking at the 2012 MTV :)
@vitalogy That's not a fair assumption. Its not the job of show fans to support a band. They bought the track for the show, and that is where the responsibility ends. If the band wanted to survive, they would have promoted themselves.

I think there were 4 volumes. The first one was chock-full of great songs and by far the best.
