I honestly believe there was no point in the RE-GZ it was a pointless Zeta Variant that had limitations with it BWS. If I was the writer of CCA Amuro would pilot a Zeta Plus or something. That series was even mass produced so there should be no issue with it.

The Anksha also did that and it was successfully mass produced despite being a transforming MS. I don't believe the Gundam writers can be coherent. I would've personally preferred the writers in unicorn have the RE-GZ Mass produced instead of the Rezels.

Personally, I feel that the Savior suffered more from a “Athrun needs to figure his life out” issue. We never saw the machine function with a pilot using seed mode or even really trying all that hard. All Athrun ever did was use the machine to keep the Chaos busy and that one time he chopped the arms off that mobile armor.

Isn't that the point of the gun cannon detector from unicorn? The guy piloting it was asleep cause all it did there was stand and tank missiles and a barrage of enemy fire only to react like "is it over yet?" Only to be impaled.
I enjoyed the beginning of SEED Destiny more than all of SEED, mostly because the main characters were actually interesting for once. It still had really dumb things like Mu still being alive and brainwashed into a terrorist, but I actually got invested with most of the ZAFT characters. Then they brought back Kira and the rest of the Archangel crew. Slowly the writing became worse and worse in order to fit Kira in. Finally the Savior got destroyed, and that’s when I knew, there was no saving this show.
Wish I could give u 10000 👍🏼, really disappointed in the story, Athrun joining ZAFT felt like a pivotal change to the story but the change was never materialized. To me, I wish Athrun/Saviour was the one who beat Kira/Freedom at that moment, at least he would’ve achieved SOMETHING!

One of the funniest things about the Re-GZ that I recently learned about is that it was broken in Extreme VS Full Boost due to not using the boost gauge when moving in WaveRider mode, so it just out maneuvered basically every other MS in the game.
The first thing that comes to mind about wasted potential for mechs is the Alex. It was supposed to be the upgrade that Amuro wanted but it got demolished as Chris was just a regular test pilot unable to use it as intended

I'd imagine that the NT-1 Alex would probably be a serviceable post-OYW suit if it had a newtype pilot, seeing as it was basically running on tech that became ubiquitous during Zeta Gundam.
Taurus from Gundam Wing. Despite suffering from the Worf Effect after the Virgo was introduced, it was still shown to be a capable machine in the hands of a good pilot.
Here's a good question If every flagship Gundam was put into a Battle Royale, which one would win? (It has to be the latest version of the flagship. Ex. Strike Freedom, Barbatos Lupus Rex, 00 Quanta, GP03, Wing Zero EW, etc) Also Turn A is only allowed to use the Moonlight butterfly system without the nanomachines that destroy all technology. It can only use the Moonlight Butterfly as a power-enhancing system, lik NT-D, Trans Am, and the ZERO System.
Turn A. Between the moonlight butterfly and nanobots that can rebuild it from being atomized, PILOT AND ALL, Turn A is busted enough to take on most super robots. Only thing that gave the show any stakes was that nobody knew this until the finale.
To be honest my most memorable ZGMF-X23S Saviour moment is actually when it disabled the Gells-Ghe (granted with a move copied from Kira's freedom), And it's getting "Savioured" comes in second.

Sometimes wish they could've bring back the GuAIZ Experimental Firearms Type and improve it to make it as ZAFT red's exclusive machine instead of the GOUF or ZAKU as GINN and CGUE are already the Gouf and Zaku of CE. GuAIZ give CE more identity and originality to it imo. GuAIZ seems underused in GSD along with the Raider Full Spec which is possibly CE's closest thing to Ground Gundam. I agree with the Saviour. 2nd gen supposed to be a further development of the original GAT-X series and fielding the latest battery and mobile suit technology. I think Lunamaria deserve the Saviour instead of Athrun and Heine should've brought his custom GuAIZ XFT.
@@Joshua_N-A the Experimental Guaiz isn't viable becauze it's armed with the equipment of Justice and Freedom, which use up too much energy unless the suit is nuclear powered. The Experimental Guaiz had to be plugged in and almost-completely stationary because of this.

The obvious answer to your first question would probably be the Zudah. Just replace the Jupiter engine with something more standard-issue, and its performance in all other areas would probably make up for the loss of speed.
IMO it wouldn’t be a fair comparison. OZ at AC195 has so much advanced technology compared to Zeon UC079. I think at that time OZ already has the Tallgeese 2 and even Gundam Epyon for their ace pilots.

I agree (to a point) about the FA-78-2. It is, indeed, a Clunky Boi. It, *could* be described as a Fusion of a regular RX-78 Unit, a Guncannon, and a 21 Meter High chunk of Steel (which it basically is). The thing is, though, I got some personal attachments to the thing, since it was my First actual Gundam in Battle Operation 2. That, and it's just cool.

I am astonished that the Zeon engineers couldn't figure out beam weapons for their own Zakus, but when it comes to giving new type monkeys a Zaku, they not only figure out how to support beam weapons, but how to support 4 AT ONCE. Truly, the most proficient Zeon engineers were placed in the most valuable facilities.
Humorously they actually take note of the Gyan's flaws in Build Fighters ep 1, where Susumu(?) Actually had a plain Gyan just with what I believe was a Gelgoog's beam rifle
You know, the graze Ritter from gundam iron blooded orphans in season 1 also had wasted potential. Though a limited production model, it was superior in almost every way to the graze; the graze Ritter had better armor, higher mobility, and a slick sword to boot. So what went wrong? … It is basically like Gundam War In The Pocket and the OG gundam series: noobs pilot for the first time against a couple of seasoned pros and get wiped in beautiful machines. It isn’t their fault, nor the ritters. In fact, mcgillis’s best action in season 2 was finally giving the graze Ritter justice in the SAU-Arbrau war with excellent performance against the hloekk grazes and geirails. It was Carta Issue who doomed the Graze Ritter to gundam fodder in season 1. SHE’S THE POST DISASTER EQUIVALENT OF MQUVE

Tbf I think the Savior and the Chaos were pretty equal in wasted potential. The Saviour for all the aforementioned reasons, the Chaos because it too was suppose to be a highly advanced suit that was being piloted by (by Earth Alliance standards) an ace and also because for the majority of its screentime it was fighting on Earth despite being designed specifically for space.
The Saviour needs more love. Its sad that I haven't seen much videos of the 1/100 kit. And even if it was given more attention, I'm sure most people would LOVE an updated HGCE, or of course, a Master Grade.

I bought the mg Unicorn version (mainly cause I love the Re-gz look and wanted a semi updated kit) but I really contemplate the point of the bws, should of just tried to make a transformable ms than a pseudo transformable ms. At the very least they could of made the bws like the mk II super gundam, something that could be compatible with other ms like the jegan and not necessitate the need for some form of incomplete transformation system
5:58 this is what cemented my preference for the Sword Impulse than the Sword Strike in my book (well other than it's more evil look). The Strike only had a beam boomerang while not a bad choice to the range of it is limited, unlike the Sword Impulse which was designed with Ship Shinking in mind so that's what make them think to gave it a beam rifle and a shield to protect it self, all while still have the exact same armament the Strike had (ecxept for the grappling wire). @Falcon Shadow Nova i have only played Rengou VS ZAFT PSP, but yup Sword Impulse was rather good for a close combat unit and Launcher Strike is clearly superior to Blast in that game (due to his Charge shoot reload faster, hence making the spam much more doable than the latter).
The Saviour was a Gundam I largely forgot WAS a Gundam (and not some super Zaku) until I played one of the SEED Destiny VS games. The Saviour is badass. Transformable mobile suits kinda deserve more love in CE.
Not a question for the series, but do you plan to make a Zeta gundam development hystory video? Because with the introduction of the delta gundam it is not easy to understand. Also the zeta was a quite influential unit with a lot of successor units.
Re-Gz is still one of the coolest prototypes. Also strange. When they put armor on the GM it actually worked. And even made sure the GM was a melee type like it usually was. In the form of the GM Strike. No. The armor wasn’t as strong as the full armor, but it still served to protect the suit better than its original armor. The day a GM outclasses the Gundam.
Questions: 1) How did Haman's Neo Zeon lose even when the E.F.SF. was weakened by the Gryps Conflict? 2) What Mobile Suits made to look like Gundams do you think deserve to be classified as Gundams? Ex. - The Hazels, GM Striker Custom, Pale Rider, etc. 3) Who do you think is the best Gundam antagonist of the all the series in terms of an ingenious schemer? And maybe in terms of being evil 4) What was the point of the Sleeves aka 3rd Neo Zeon's ornate sleeve and collar designs on their MS that made them look like they were wearing suits? 5) What would've happened to the Principality of Zeon if Degwin managed to meet Revil before the Battle of A Baoua Qu?
Agreed. There were other factors with more impact than Judau I think One thing that certainly affected Neo Zeon's efforts was repeating the Principality's mistake of overdeveloping MS instead of mass producing the ones that were already tried and true

The first thing that comes to mind about wasted potential for mechs is the Alex. It was supposed to be the upgrade that Amuro wanted but it got demolished as Chris was just a regular test pilot unable to use it as intended

To be honest my most memorable ZGMF-X23S Saviour moment is actually when it disabled the Gells-Ghe (granted with a move copied from Kira's freedom), And it's getting "Savioured" comes in second.

Athrun kicked Chaos' butt in a basic ass Zaku in like 5 seconds, but basically just flew around in circles the whole time with the Savior lol.
Sometimes wish they could've bring back the GuAIZ Experimental Firearms Type and improve it to make it as ZAFT red's exclusive machine instead of the GOUF or ZAKU as GINN and CGUE are already the Gouf and Zaku of CE. GuAIZ give CE more identity and originality to it imo. GuAIZ seems underused in GSD along with the Raider Full Spec which is possibly CE's closest thing to Ground Gundam.
I agree with the Saviour. 2nd gen supposed to be a further development of the original GAT-X series and fielding the latest battery and mobile suit technology. I think Lunamaria deserve the Saviour instead of Athrun and Heine should've brought his custom GuAIZ XFT.
@@Joshua_N-A the Experimental Guaiz isn't viable becauze it's armed with the equipment of Justice and Freedom, which use up too much energy unless the suit is nuclear powered. The Experimental Guaiz had to be plugged in and almost-completely stationary because of this.

The obvious answer to your first question would probably be the Zudah. Just replace the Jupiter engine with something more standard-issue, and its performance in all other areas would probably make up for the loss of speed.

IMO it wouldn’t be a fair comparison. OZ at AC195 has so much advanced technology compared to Zeon UC079. I think at that time OZ already has the Tallgeese 2 and even Gundam Epyon for their ace pilots.

I agree (to a point) about the FA-78-2. It is, indeed, a Clunky Boi. It, *could* be described as a Fusion of a regular RX-78 Unit, a Guncannon, and a 21 Meter High chunk of Steel (which it basically is). The thing is, though, I got some personal attachments to the thing, since it was my First actual Gundam in Battle Operation 2. That, and it's just cool.

I am astonished that the Zeon engineers couldn't figure out beam weapons for their own Zakus, but when it comes to giving new type monkeys a Zaku, they not only figure out how to support beam weapons, but how to support 4 AT ONCE. Truly, the most proficient Zeon engineers were placed in the most valuable facilities.
Humorously they actually take note of the Gyan's flaws in Build Fighters ep 1, where Susumu(?) Actually had a plain Gyan just with what I believe was a Gelgoog's beam rifle
You know, the graze Ritter from gundam iron blooded orphans in season 1 also had wasted potential. Though a limited production model, it was superior in almost every way to the graze; the graze Ritter had better armor, higher mobility, and a slick sword to boot. So what went wrong?
… It is basically like Gundam War In The Pocket and the OG gundam series: noobs pilot for the first time against a couple of seasoned pros and get wiped in beautiful machines. It isn’t their fault, nor the ritters. In fact, mcgillis’s best action in season 2 was finally giving the graze Ritter justice in the SAU-Arbrau war with excellent performance against the hloekk grazes and geirails. It was Carta Issue who doomed the Graze Ritter to gundam fodder in season 1.

Tbf I think the Savior and the Chaos were pretty equal in wasted potential.
The Saviour for all the aforementioned reasons, the Chaos because it too was suppose to be a highly advanced suit that was being piloted by (by Earth Alliance standards) an ace and also because for the majority of its screentime it was fighting on Earth despite being designed specifically for space.
The Saviour needs more love.
Its sad that I haven't seen much videos of the 1/100 kit. And even if it was given more attention, I'm sure most people would LOVE an updated HGCE, or of course, a Master Grade.

I bought the mg Unicorn version (mainly cause I love the Re-gz look and wanted a semi updated kit) but I really contemplate the point of the bws, should of just tried to make a transformable ms than a pseudo transformable ms. At the very least they could of made the bws like the mk II super gundam, something that could be compatible with other ms like the jegan and not necessitate the need for some form of incomplete transformation system
5:58 this is what cemented my preference for the Sword Impulse than the Sword Strike in my book (well other than it's more evil look). The Strike only had a beam boomerang while not a bad choice to the range of it is limited, unlike the Sword Impulse which was designed with Ship Shinking in mind so that's what make them think to gave it a beam rifle and a shield to protect it self, all while still have the exact same armament the Strike had (ecxept for the grappling wire). Out of topic yes, but i'm just point out my thought
@Falcon Shadow Nova i have only played Rengou VS ZAFT PSP, but yup Sword Impulse was rather good for a close combat unit and Launcher Strike is clearly superior to Blast in that game (due to his Charge shoot reload faster, hence making the spam much more doable than the latter).
The Saviour was a Gundam I largely forgot WAS a Gundam (and not some super Zaku) until I played one of the SEED Destiny VS games.
The Saviour is badass. Transformable mobile suits kinda deserve more love in CE.
Easiest fix for the Gyan is give it space for a Zaku MG or a bazooka.

Also strange. When they put armor on the GM it actually worked. And even made sure the GM was a melee type like it usually was. In the form of the GM Strike. No. The armor wasn’t as strong as the full armor, but it still served to protect the suit better than its original armor. The day a GM outclasses the Gundam.

One thing that certainly affected Neo Zeon's efforts was repeating the Principality's mistake of overdeveloping MS instead of mass producing the ones that were already tried and true
