  • Billy Williams (1878 - 1915), the Australian born comic singer of the music halls (in the US known as Vaudeville), recorded many of his songs on both wax cylinders and 78rpm discs (the latter won out in the format wars). Billy's records sold so well in the UK they are not that difficult to find (or usually all that expensive to buy) even after 100 plus years....though the amazing thing is so many of these easily breakable 78s have survived into the present.
Recorded for Zonophone records of England.
    Out of UK Copyright.
Played on a 1971 Ultra 6043 record player

Nice chirpy example of Billy Williams. I posted same song on John Bull label, just a few minor differences. Wonder how many other labels this song appears on? Observed that Billy usually recorded his songs with several companies, presumably to prevent cover artists cashing in.
