This video series is one of the most important things in my life. No lie. I'm an old musician and it's a pleasure to hear these people talk truth and lessons. All of them are my heroes even the young ones. This series is a miracle and hope it continues forever.
I don't want to belittle the things Ron did on all of those amazing Jazz records in any way, shape or form. That being said: The very first record that comes to my mind when i think of Mr. Ron Carter is Gil Scott Heron's “Pieces of a man”. I'm still trying to digest that record.
My drum heroes conducting a collective interview of the immense Ron Carter??!! Quintuple WOW and a huge thank you 🙂.
Thank you to all concerned for this interview. I appreciate how there are insights about music, of course, and also insights about life.
This series might just be the best in music....not just drummers but all musicians will find something here to love. Thanks guys.
The bass player of my life. So much respect!

Great conversation! Thank you gentlemen.
I understand "in the band". (etc) That's a great point. And "don't play past the S" is priceless.
😂 What was that Miles in concert album doing under that rug?? Love it!
So, this is where the drummers get to interview, other great musicians...
