trying to install the native I get error ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement sleeter (from versions: none) I have python 3.7.5
I used pip install spleeter==1.4.9 and it worked
after getting everything installed and it looked like it was going to work then got command failed

this things like a secret weapon with the convert to midi function. Im about to jack so many percussion patterns, ty.
How have you been getting on with this? I had the same intentions but found it wasn't all that good at isolating the percussion to then be converted to midi.
this changes everything, imagine when this thing is integrated with every update on every major DAW. This is like every djs wet dream, thank you very much. Also Deezer

Holy $H!7!!! I finally got this to work and WoW!!! This works pretty damn good!!! Of course it is not perfect but if you installed this and use ableton, you can clean up and use it for sure!!! I donated, and I was kinda bummed for a bit as I had issues getting it to work, but MAKE SURE YOU USE THE VERSIONS LISTED FOR ALL APPS, aka READ the instructions.. Dee-dee-deeeeeeeeeee! LoL. When I DID it worked. Thanks, I bet this will start to becoem more GUi, with you able to pick what stems and where to save in more iterations if not from you, but the big box guys. Probably THE flagship feature they show in ableton 11 LoL.

Unfortunately docker fked my pc up... Search docker bricked windows before downloading docker. Many people have issues with a black screen after restart.

Theres a Gui version too called SPLEETERGUI.
Will this help with the M4L version?

I noticed that "pip3 install spleeter==1.5.3" package already includes "pip3 install numba==0.48.0" and "pip3 install numpy==1.19" so those two do not have to be done separatly.

Anyone know how can I execute Spleeter from within the terminal on MacOS so that I can make use of the 2stems and 5stems options? I Have the Native Version
Solved: Right click the folder in which your audio file is located, select "New Terminal at Folder" then paste following line:
spleeter separate -I 'name of your audio file.wav' -p spleeter:4stems -o splits
You can choose from 2 stems, 4 stems or 5 stems, just replace the number in the command line, the first time you do it it will download the pretrained models
You can easily do this by opening speeter.js in a text editor (it's in the same folder as the max device) and changing the part that says '4stems' to 2stems or 5stems

Hey, long time! I just got an akai force and want to split out stems to create mashups. Is this library able to be loaded into the akai force (or is there an MPC plugin for this)? I can run it in windows as suggested in your comment below however I think that my daw is meant to be standalone. I can use ableton live with it but figured it would be nice to do the whole workflow on the device.
Could you please update this since the site for the FFmpeg doesn't work anymore and does this work with Ableton 10 live lite?
i'll mention the new ffmpeg link, thx. i don't think this will work with lite unless you have Max 8 installed.

Hi Azuki and everyone, I have tried to install the native version but it fails when it comes to step 3 (installing spleeter from cmd). I get the following message: " ERROR: no matching distribution found for pandas==1.1.2" I have tried to update the pandas but no effect. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I'll have a play with this, I tried and failed to install Spleeter with their instructions!
I get as far as the Starting Docker message but then nothing happens, I increased my memory to 24GB and Docker says it's running?
Then the device says cannot run Docker pleased read the ReadMe. :-( Off down the pub now, I'll give it a restart and try again later...
Restarted and increased memory to 32GB and it ran. fine :-)

your version of max is probably too old, needs to be 8.1 or above. read the link in my pinned comment

crazy about this idea, but every time i try to run the device it will say "starting docker", then tell me that docker isn't running, when it definitely is (at your recommended memory specifications no less), and to read the readme file. i can't seem to get out of this step and i'm not sure what to do next (could just be me running against the limits of this mid-2014 16GB 1TB MBP) but i hope you keep working on it because this software is awesome and the fact that it's not internet-contingent is very exciting. thanks for your time, and if you have any suggestions let me know!

@azuki Thanks Yan for sharing this~ i know you just made the m4l device for bill.. Thank him for also letting us all have a go at it! Also for the tip on Brave Browser, so dope, i have still to rate those podcasts for all that sound production information!! I don't if i will try Spleeter it sounds complaicated as f. However i really never liked regroovers output though with certain material like vocals. but this way looks and sounds way cleaner.

10.11 is no longer supported by apple so it's not getting security updates. i recommend upgrading sry

Could not copy files from Docker. I have clicked 'share it' when asked that Docker needs access to any folders. Now I dont get asked and I'm left with this message. Any ideas? Thanks for this BTW.

That is so massive cool!!! Unfortunately I cannot get it running on Win10pro. Docker adjustmets run only to 5.75gb and by trying using it, Docker says I have lower the limit :( Originally I have 8GB :( Any ideas how to get it working?
it might run with 5.75gb, but you have to split your audio into shorter segments. try seeing if it runs with 5.75gb memory on a 10s clip for instance.

Stoked to try to implement this! A slight issue for us: After running spleeter in Ableton, the process ends with the dialogue box "Could not copy files from Docker". Anyone have suggestions for how to address/fix this?

Hey, Docker has removed around 3gb my memory from my SSD which was not returned after I closed the app.. Why is this? I understand the app needs high RAM, but it appears to be wiping memory permanently.
Anyone any advice on this? I want to keep using this but am afraid of how much actual memory on my hard drive it will wipe.

weird, maybe docker hasn't been completely killed? might need to restart your computer. if this is an issue try spleeter-native (see yt description)

On the plus side, there is another plugin called Izotope RX7 which performs the same function. Have you heard about this? Wondering if it is as capable of splitting audio as Spleeter

that's weird! they're all named audio? this is where it does the naming: github.com/diracdeltas/spleeter4max/blob/master/spleeter.js#L82.
i dont uderstand why i need docker app, how working with this Spleeter?
docker is a VM which makes it more convenient for non-terminal users because all the packages are already installed in the docker image. if you don't want to user docker, see the vid description for the spleeter-native link.
Great idea,but the processing is tooo long ! 1h...maybe more..(i use a Macbook pro ,2.9 ghz I7 ,16Go RAM) is it normal ??
1h??? how long was the track? i have similar specs on my laptop, but it has never taken over 5min. the first run is always slow because the max device needs to download the spleeter VM image (which is quite large), but it should be faster on subsequent runs.

it should work with 8GB as long as your input audio files are small enough. i would try breaking your audio into 1-minute chunks (make sure you right-click and consolidate after splitting it up). if that still shows an error, try 30s.
