I usually will have the client wear the glasses while I'm marking or have them put them back on after I mark to make sure that the piercing will not have contact with the glasses. How did it affect the piercing?
I got a double helix piercing and I forgot about my glasses and the fact I wear a double headset at work. That was fun for the first few days then I got a forward helix lol. I don't do things by half. First few days I had to adjust how I wore everything but everything's settled now about 2-3wks on.
This is why I try to mention as much I can about how the piercing may effect your life during the healing. You had never had a piercing there and had no idea about contact with headphones and glasses. It was your piercer's responsibility to tell you about them. I'm happy to hear you got through it and the piercings healed. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing would you consider doing a video of piercing placements those of us with glasses might want to be wary of? (huge fan, and i do listen, haha, so i understand it could vary from person to person depending on anatomy, but any sort of guidance/insight would be great.)
Congratulations on your new piercing!!!! I would suggest seeing your piercer and having them size the ring for you. It's important to have the correct width.
Same. Got my conch done today and the pain would be about 1-2/10. I was pretty surprised but it really depends on the persons pain tolerance. But now comes the healing process. But I also plan on getting a ring in about 2 months
I'm glad to hear my passion comes across. I can tell you that there are a lot of us out there. Often we appear to be cold prickly but are a more warm and fuzzy. If not, in my opinion they should find a different career.
I’ve been having my conch for about 3 years now. The healing process was a beast! I was very discouraged but kept cleaning it. It took over a year to heal, I had bumps, bleeding and pain. Then one day out the blue I had no problems. I love this piercing and it was worth all of that hard work. I just wish I would’ve known about your channel years ago 😉
Conch piercings are just one of those piercings that can be a pain to heal. There are so many factors that can make it difficult and problematic. I'm glad you waited it out and healed it.
What did you use to clean it? I'm on yr 4, yes... Yr 4 & I am still experiencing pain, bumps, bleeding & discharge unfortunately :-( been trying to figure out if taking it out is best since its been such a pain for 4 damn yrs...
@@loveleaaaaare you using good quality and well fitting jewelry? You might be allergic to the metalnin your jewelry. Try putting in a retainer or get gold.
@@marianatemie976 Thank u so much for your reply. I was getting ready to take it out & attempt to let it close in just a couple of days. I have a surgery metal grade snug fitting bar in. I will grab a retainer & gold bar + the sea salt spray to see if “babying it” like a fresh piercing will help. 🙏🏾
Thank you and I'm glad your are enjoying the videos. I'm happy to hear that the positivity and the passion comes through. Oh and thank you for watching.
I have a conch piercing in my right ear and a double conch piercing in my left ear. I had very little trouble healing them (all are at least 9 months old). I love them!
Conch piercings can be problem children and take a little more attention and time them other piercings but they are just one of those piercings that when done right, look incredible. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying yours.
I went to my piercer to get a daith, but apparently my daith was too small, so I got a conch instead! I got it done yesterday, and I love it! I can’t wait for it to heal, so I can swap the labret to a hoop!
I got it done 2 years ago it's all healed up now and arguably my favorite piercing of all. I love telling people it's real and not an ear cuff!! My hair was what gave me issues, it would get caught in the jewelry and if I was motioning to tie it up it would tug and sometimes cause flare ups.
I’ve had my conch piercing for over 10 years. There was nothing like this then. Lol, I did Everything wrong. But it’s fine now and definitely have had no issues in a very very long time. Good informative video.
Ten years ago rings were still pretty standard and strong antiseptic were often suggested. So, I'm guessing that most of the wrong things you did were maybe suggested by your piercer. Sounds like the piercing still healed. Thank for sharing your experience and watching.
This was super helpful! I love knowing both pros and cons going into a piercing. I have several on my ears, two on my nose, and my belly button already - but knowing what to expect for each one is always a step I HAVE to take and this video was the most informative and honest I could find. Thank you!!!
I love my conch piercing! Did it myself (do not try this at home haha) but I’ve had no issues with it. I found that for me, it was super easy to sleep on since the pillow doesn’t put pressure on the inner part of my ear. Cleaned it twice a day for the first few months, and now I just use a saline spray a few times a week. Of all my piercings, this was actually the easiest to heal.
I did mine myself too but I fucked up big time and overestimated the length of the bar. I spent a good hour swapping the jewellery out to a proper size and it killed for ages afterwards.
Just to add to what you said about sports; it’s good to plan ahead so you get the piercing done at the best time for your sport (usually at the start of off season), then during comps make sure that the jewellery is the correct size to minimise the profile and exposure. I know for my sport it is mainly aesthetic so we would either swap it out for clear jewellery just for the performance or cover it with strapping tape (same as tattoos). Mostly common sense but I’ve found this (swapping to snugly fitted jewellery) has minimised the amount of pain and settling time needed after being whacked in the ear or having someone land on my head.
Yes, most people really don't consider it and it will always make for a much easier healing period. Also, if you have to have clear jewelry, I'm going to suggest glass. It's more durable, safer and can be worn in the body longer.
Omg ofc I watch this after getting my conch pierced. My conch aftercare was such a pain. I hardly felt the needle when it went through, just a little sore after for the rest of the day. But after I started to head on to my 3rd or 4th day, it started to throb and burn soooo much. I was in so much pain I couldn't even sleep. The nxt night I took 2 pills of panadol rapid and it stopped hurting. During the period of pain, I had blood, some pus and crusts coming out of my ear, not to mention it was also very swollen. I also had jaw pain and headaches. I didnt know if it was an infection because it was only some of the early days of getting it pierced. Welp at least I'm still alive, lucky enough of me, after I took the pills and cleaned it 3 times a day it went down. Now on my first full week😊
They can be rather grumpy the say the least. Just a small amount of truama and suddenly you favorite new piercing is your worse nightmare. Glad to hear it simmered down and healed.
Lmao week 2 and week 3 you couldn’t even see my stud because their was so much puss crusted over it 😭 I clean it 3x a day too, but as soon as I’d clean it up it would leak again. Nasty af. It’s finally stopped being gross and you can see that there’s a piercing their and not a glob of nasty.
Body Piercing & Tattooing dipped my ear in cup of saline for 4-5 mins and then rinse the saline off with tap water (minimum 2x a day, usually 3x). When the crust really started coming on I followed up with a quick swipe with a cotton ball. could it have something to do with the jewelry? The place I went to pierced with a needle and then inserted a regular earring, like the kind I would buy for my lobes.
@@vivianc.8731 Well, first off twice daily is enough and you should have rinsed under running water. Cotton Balls and Qtips are a huge cause of infection and other problems, including the strands of cotton wrapping around the jewelry and causing problems. It sounds like the jewelry might have been the source of most of your problems. That type of jewelry is often made of substandard metals, not long enough and has less than smooth jewelry. Why they would use that style of jewelry is beyond me.
I just got my rook and conch piercing the other day. I haven’t had any issues so far - no swelling, it doesn’t hurt or bother me (except when I accidentally brush it) which surprises me, since I’ve read a lot of horror stories about these two piercings. So happy I didn’t let those hold me back. Haha. Thank you so much for these videos! Very informative 👏🏼
Thank you for sharing your experience and I think too often we hear more about the problems and less from those that have no issues. A vast majority of people get puercings heal with little or no issue.
Nice video very informative today is my birthday and tomorrow I am going to get my conch pierced I have a couple of piercings but this time I wanted to get a conch so I watched your video and made me feel better thank u
Body Piercing & Tattooing I did it it looks stunning with my forward helix and daith well it didn’t hurt as much as I thought again you’re a big inspiration to me
They are a more painful piercing. Mainly because of how they have to be done. Congratulations on your new piercings and here's hoping they heal easily.
I got my conch piercing almost 4 weeks ago. It was a little bit more painful than my 2nd cartilage but, it is lots less painful than an industrial piercing. The conch piercing is a little more than the pressure than the pain. I kind of closed my eyes a little bit on this piercing. My 2nd cartilage piercing wasn’t as painful and it was just a little pinch. The industrial piercing is more painful and when I was getting my eyes opened wide just after the first hole.
I don't have this particular piercing.....but I really enjoy your informative content.... actually looking into learning how to professionally pierce... Been binge watching all your videos....love them
I wish I would've watched this before I got pierced! The piercer warned me about it afterwards lol...... hate her! Also she used a barbell with the flat back instead of the double sided ball barbell. So im BABYING this to the highest extent!
Your piercer should always give you a consultation before hand explaining what kind of commitment healing the piercing will be and the risks involved. You should be fine with the labret. It is common to use labret studs with Conch piercing. This is to lower the profile of the jewelry in the back.
I got my conch pierced 6 days ago and I absolutely loved it! Within the next day almost 2 days later, it got infected. I thought it was just normal swelling and redness but by day 3-4 it worsened. Day 5 puss came out and the back of the piercing got “eaten” by my ear cuz of how swollen it was. Day 6 had to go to the doctor to get it taken out. I was so bummed but it all happened cuz the piercer used a barbell that was too small, such as those you use for a healed piercing. I did follow the cleaning instructions, being careful with it to not sleep on it, etc, but of course was still no help 😔 This pain tho was NO JOKE!!!
It's hard to say without seeing the piercing first hand but I'm guessing that it was swelling from the trauma of the piercing. It exceeded the length of the jewelry and the impacting caused additionally trauma which lead to more swelling. Yes, extremely painful but may not have been infected and could have been resolved with a longer piece of jewelry.
I can't wait to get mine pierced!! I have my first and second lobes, my helix and my industrial! I've wanted my conch for so long and my boss and I are going to get them on Saturday (we work for a body jewelry/piercing company) and we're both so excited! Compared to an industrial healing this should be fine
Yes, Conch piercings are not the easiest heal but much less problematic than industrials. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. If you don't mind sharing, who do you work for?
1 month into my conch piercing. It still gets angry but is overall healing alright. I almost always roll onto it during the night and don't wake... I'm pretty sure this is my main issue... It feels loads better than my helix did though which rejected right away.
Conch piercings are prone to sensitivity throughout the healing process. You might want to consider sleeping with a U-shaped travel pillow with your ear elevated on the piercing side. This should reduce the amount of contact.
It really depends on how you define healed. In this case I'm talking about the period of tome on average that the body takes to produce skin around the jewelry. During this time precautions and actions need to be taken to speed up healing and avoid infection. This varies greatly from person to person and I generally am talking about the minimum healing period. Upper ear cartildge piercing tend to be grumpy long after they have healed. They can be tender to the touch or acceptable to abuse years after they were pierced. Though 6he piercing isn't acceptable to infection, sleeping the piercing, wearing tight over ear headphones or wearing constructive headgear cam cause the piercing to be sore and tender. Also removing the jewelry for long periods of time may cause the piercing to close.
@@MJ-uv6pp it is when the piercing has gotten to the point where it is no longer an open wound. At that point the discharge will stop, the holes will pull inward and the jewelry will move freely. At that point the jewelry can be changed and you can stop the aftercare. Whenever in doubt to whether it is healed, see your piercer and have them take a look.
I think you really can’t generalize that. My helix literally took 3 weeks to fully heal but I got my industrial over half a year ago and it still gets crusty at times. If your body sucks at healing it takes longer of course.
Thanks for this video! I wish I had seen it a few days ago but I just got pierced yesterday haha. I enjoy your information and will definitely watch more!
You are welcome and I'm happy to hear that you found the video helpful. I'm sure you can find someone in your area of the world that shares my passion and skills.
I had my conch pierced three years ago, and it still gets grumpy and painful on a semi-regular basis. I have never been able to comfortably sleep on it without angering it, and a quick rotation of the earring last night has left it mad today. Will it ever become more care-free, or is this life with this type of piercing?
Got mine two weeks ago I think. No pain, heat, or throbbing when getting it. There’s been no crusts or bleeding. It’s my 14th piercing and never had an easier time healing.
@@meagandrake2374 honestly? The daith. But even that didn't hurt so bad, just mainly the pressure of the needle doing through the cartilage and a pinch when it pierced the skin. (And I'll tell ya, I have suffered chronic migraines my whole adult life, almost 25 years. At least once a week. I have not had a single one since! It doesn't work for everyone, but for me it does.) Both are worth it, they're super cute! You just have to make sure that you clean them properly, as your piercer advices. Also, make sure that you have a good piercer. My girl is amazing! The conch, I was scared it would really hurt, but it didn't any more than a regular helix. (To me, anyway. Everyone is different.) Both are on the inside of the ear, so if you forget and lay on your side, it doesn't hurt. Also they don't snag while you're brushing your hair. Almost 4 months into the daith and it's still healing. The conch, though I know is still healing, feels like it's done already. Just felt a little bruised for a few days after. I would totally do them both on each ear if the jewelry wouldn't hit each other! You should go for it! One in each ear ;)
@@DollyKauionalani ahhh thank you so much!! That's so amazing that the daith has helped with your migraines! You've convinced me to get both hahah! I have a healing helix still but since it's out of action anyway may as well get them now and get the healing over with haha! So the daith has healed a bit better for you? Im thinking the conch in the helix ear since daith seems maybe a bit easier to sleep on? Thank you so much for the advice!!
The daith is the slowest to heal. ( on me anyway, everyone is different!) General rule of thumb is not to sleep on a healing piercing, period. It needs to breath and when you sleep on it, it puts unnecessary pressure. However, though I try to fall asleep on my back. I toss and turn in my sleep. I'm just thankful that it doesn't make it more sore due to how it's set down in the ear! I'm glad that you're getting them. Good luck!
i got my conch done almost a month ago, along with my 2nds and 3rds in both lobes. love them so much, but after 2 days i had to get a donut pillow so i could sleep on my sides instead of like a vampire. i would definitely say that the lobe piercings are more painful and fussy than the conch lol
ive had issues with both my conch piercings (left and right ear), the one on the right 2 of my friends accidentally smacked into really hard when i didnt have it that long yet, it took a looong time to recover from those hits lol. the one on the left was fine until i somehow got a painful blister on the back (maybe used too hot water), but with some tlc that eventually calmed down. now theyre both doing well and living their best lives in my ears.
With a lot of piercings, I hear there are sort of two healing periods. The first shorter one is when it's, for all intents and purposes "healed," no more pain and you're able to switch out the jewelry. The second is when it's fully healed in every way. What would you say those two timeframes are for the conch and which rules apply to which time frame? Example, swimming in a pool or sleeping on it, first or second?
This is DaVo btw. I'm signed onto my other account. I would say there are three stages. The first is the acceptance phase lasting a few days to weeks depending the piercing and the person's health. During this period the body reacts to the trauma of the piercing with discoloration, pain and tenderness to the touch, slight bleeding, heat and swelling. The second stage is when first stage ends and the body begins growing tissue around the jewelry. This can last for as little as 8 weeks up to over a year once again depend on the piercing and health. During this period the piercing is acceptable to infection and damage from trauma. It will produce discharge that will dry and crust on the piercing. This ends when the skin connects in the center of the piercing, the piercing holes will pull inward and it will stop producing discharge. The third stage is the seasoning stage where the body thickens the skin around the jewelry and grows slightly wider than the jewelry. This can take 6 months to 3 years to complete. During thus period removing the jewelry for even short periods of time will cause t gt e piercing to close. Also it should be completed before stretching the piercing. With Conch piercings and cartridges piercing, I wouldn't suggest swimming at all during the first two stages of healing to avoid infection or other issue. As far as sleeping, I have found that even after the piercing is completely healed, sleeping on the piercing or other trauma can cause a well healed piercing to be sore and grumpy. Like upper ear cartildge piercings the tend to be more sensitive to trauma than other piercings.
@@DavidWilkinsDaVo I mean, is it okay to remove it for a minute very early on, so I can clean it up properly - let's say a few days after the piercing.
I have my conch done and I’m thinking about getting a tongue web piercing can you please explain more about them because there isn’t must information about tongue web piercings you seem like a great piercer
I refuse to do them to be honest, I always feel uncomfortable doing videos about piercings I do not suggest getting. However, you are not the first to request a video. I'll try to get one up here in the next few weeks.
Me too. I just got my Conch pierced on Saturday and it's doing so good. Here's hoping both of our piercings continue to stay I'm a good mood. Thank you for commenting and watching.
@@BodyPiercingTattooingI got my conch done last week. My piercer used a hoop. It's healing nice and he worked with me on how I wanted to set-I got this groove the hoop lines up on-not tight. I would say the first three days it was a dull pain, I'm thinking it's from the elastic part of wearing a mask all day.
I’m thinking about getting this piercing, but I’m not sure if now is a great time. It’s almost winter, and I love to wear hats. Can you wear hats with this piercing? Also, can you clean earbuds and wear them, wear over the ear headphones, or should I not use either of those. In addition, how long do you think it would have to be before I could switch to a hoop?
It would always be best to avoid any contact at all. The second best option is to make sure that anything that come in contact is cleaned disinfected regularly. With over the ear headphones, if there is pressure and contact I would avoid them. You want to wait until the piercing is completely healed before changing to a ring. The longer you wait the better.
When he says to keep it clean and keeps stressing it...plz plz listen to it, cuz cartilage piercing that are infected is no joke!!! I have my daith done which is very close to where the conch piercing is at. Ear bubs did it for me!!! I kept it clean, but due to work I had to use ear buds just a week after it was done, so very fresh. That was horrible!!! The pain was insane...so take this advice seriously for sure!
I do customer service which requires for me to wear headphones is it possible that I can purchase a new headphone cushions and use it after I get my conch?
I would suggest it. The other problem is the pressure on the piercing itself. If you can not wear them or adjust them to limit contact it would be best.
Video's awesome. I definitely want a conch piercing but I'm high-key afraid of how painful it will be. I have two helix piercings, is a conch piercing just as "painful" as a helix?
Everyone has different experiences. I have to say that upper ear cartlidge piercings tend to be grumpier and get knocked around a great deal more than the conch. I don't think you will find it any more painful. Though the sensation may be different.
Body Piercing & Tattooing Just got the conch piercing and boy did it hurt! Haha. Probably a 7/10 and now a tad throbby but much better now. It is definitely a cute one. Thanks again for the info!
Body Piercing & Tattooing now that I think about it. The piercening itself wasn’t too bad, maybe 5-6/10 but the throbby, stinginess after was a little worse. It feels great today!
Ive had mines pierced for two weeks now i love it so much and haven’t had any issues until last night i fell asleep while watching tv on my back i turned my head onto my new piercing and oh my god 😭 was it painful
Mistakes happen. Consider it a lesson learned, baby it for a few days and it should settle down. Or just make sure to watch TV shows that keep you awake. 😊
Got my conch 3 weeks ago. It's really a pain in the ass 😂 Never had a piercing so sensitive. Cleaning is a hell, but found out, that for me washing it with soap, then soak it a few minutes with salin solution on a pad and wash it again with only warm water is the best for it. I do this once a day and it's not annoyed of me anymore the hole day 🤣 I sleep on a travel pillow since I got it, because lying on it isn't imaginable because of the pain. But till now no crust, no infection, everything is fine 😊
Is it normal, that it didn't crust or bleed for me? I wash it in the shower every two days and that's all I do. The body heals itself and except I couldn't sleep on it and it hurts if I push my ear back, it feels like it's been ever there. :)
@@TheStitch06 your not alone .. mine also didn’t crust nor bleed it’s been over a week and I’m healing beautifully 😍.. I guess we’re the lucky ones.. Hello, I would love to get a conch piercing, but I also like listening to music. Would I be able to wear headphones when it is fully healed? By the way, thank you for the video, I really enjoyed watching it 😊
It really depends on your anatomy and what type of headphones you use. In most cases, after the piercing is healed, you can wear earbuds. I would mention it to your piercer before they mark and place the piercing.
I’ve got several different piercings, and I thought I wanted this one to mark an upcoming birthday. This cat has sufficiently turned me off from getting one, lol!
@@bobbydabrat6141 it hurts for like two seconds and then its not , after you will feel sensitivity around the area but its not that bad and I had it two weeks ago and it does not hurt at all just take care of it.
I'm so glad I watched this I made the same mistake with my tregus because I wear earbuds for work all the time and getting one would not fit with a conch peiecing
I would suggest that if you plan on getting a Conch, I would suggest that you bring your ear buds with you and make sure that the placement is going to avoid contact.
Awesome video! Should have watched this 3 days ago before I got mine done lol.....I am having some pain or “grumpiness” as you put it and most definitely one of my most sensitive piercings to date. Question.....how long should I do the saline soaks? I’m assuming the duration of the healing so 2-3 months?
Thank you and I'm glad you found the video helpful. I suggest 5-10 minutes twice daily for at least 2 months or until healed. If the piercing seems healed but you are unsure, see your piercer.
Getting my conch pierced in an hour so i’m watching this to prepare myself haha. My friend has a conch and she said it’s very calm so i hope mine will be like that too
Well, the point of these videos and the piercing consultation I give before every piercing is to educate you enough to know if the piercing is the right choice for you.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing yeah and I appreciate that a lot!! I’m glad you taught me that instead of me getting the piercing and sleeping on it and having it never heal. I’ve been binging all your videos
I got my conch 5 months ago and it's still a pain in the ass. I've been cleaning it everyday but I move around alot sleeping which has caused some issues. It looks dope but is a pain to heal as someone who doesn't heal cartilage well.
The key is to try to isolate the piercing. Try using a u shaped travel pillow to raise the piercing off the bed. Also how are you cleaning the piercing?
@@BodyPiercingTattooing I clean it with some saline and a cotton swab. I don't exactly know if I can get a u-shaped pillow right now. But I clean my sheets really frequently in hopes to off set how much I move around
I'm not a fan of cotton balls. They can be a source of contamination and the loose strands of cotton can collect on the piercing and jewelry. A better option is a tightly woven sterile gauze sponge or a clean new folded up paper towel. An alternative to the pillow is a clean fluffy bath towel. Roll it up and shape it into a dounut and sleep with the piercing in the center.
My double helix took a full year to heal. Will that mean I will have to withhold from using headphones for a year after my conch? I will need to use them in 3 months for school.
The Conch is usually more isolated and out of the way. It is more prone to have contact with ear buds. Mention this when you have your consultation with your piercer.
Just got my conch done yesterday :) my piercer actually said to move the piercing slightly so the spray can get into the actual piercing hole, but the soaking method I saw mentioned in the comments seems to be a lot better. The touching hurts and I don‘t think it‘s helping the healing process. Thanks for the video, you seem very knowledgeable :)
Definitely late to respond but, yeah it's strongly discouraged to move the healing piercing. It can open up the scab on the inside of the wound and lead to more complications
Talk to your piercer about the pros and cons of each. The Conch will be a more difficult and longer heal. Lobes means that you will be dealing with a piercing on each side which will impact sleeping, telephones, headphones, etc...
Very informative video! Thank you for sharing that much info :) I just had my conch pierced with extra length room for possible swelling(w/stud). However I plan to relocate where piercing service is unreachable starting next month - should I visit the piercing studio and have it downsized within 4 weeks? My piercer said yes but I would wonder if that irritates the wound and cause further issues. *I consider myself a slow healer as I had my helix pierced 9 months ago and still feel pain and sour when switching the jewelry by my piercer.
Leaving the longer jewelry in until you can have it down sized. However if the piercing is healing well changing the jewelry shouldn't be an issue. Another option is buying the correct size, waiting until it heals and changing the jewelry yourself.
I'm not sure what you mean by medical benefits. There is a lot of theories running around the internet that piercings will cure or help with medical conditions. All of these are based on acupuncture, reflexology, Eastern and Alternative Medicine. As I always tell my clients, I'm a professionally trained piercer and not a doctor or a acupuncturist. I'm going to place a piercing where it will heal and look best.
I have tried too find stuff on this piercing and i have't found much. Except from mostly piercers. Talking about pain, and jewelry options, and after care.
Wondering if this piercing will hurt more than my tragus. The cartilage in my tragus is very thick, the piercer was sort of impressed by it. I feel like its thicker than where the conch would go. Tragus hurt going in, but as soon as I left the shop the pain was gone. Sad thing is that after almost 8 years my tragus still gets bumps and angry some times :(
It's really hard to say if one piercing is going to be more painful than another. The thing with tragus piercings is that the jewelry insertion is often the most uncomfortable part. The Conch usually isn't as bad. I'm sorry to hear that you are still having issues with your tragus. Is it possible that it is on the side that you sleep on?
The pain should subside and only happen when the piercing has contact. If it is throbbing or being painful without contact, something is wiring and you should have it checked out.
I'm a life long fan of Joy Division. Unknown Pleasures is about as close as you can get to a prefect album. They are just one of those bands that had long reaching influence but are rarely mentioned. And when they are it's always about Ian's death.
Im little over a year healing. Not any pain but bumps come and go. They go away with sea salt rinses but then come right back because I can't seem to stay off it while I'm sleeping :( I don't fully understand because I healed my industrial on my other ear 15 years ago with no issues!
Hi, I just got mine... I have a question: what if I carefully clean my earphones every time before putting them on? Like with alcohol or any type of sanitizer or something like that? Would that be a good idea? Because I wear my earphones almost all the time 😅.
Thank you for this video -- super helpful! Now I want one even more. 🙂 I slept on my tragus piercing, I never had any problems. Crossing my fingers for a repeat performance. 🤞
I'm thinking of getting a conch piercing but I need to wear earplugs at night to be able to sleep. Would this still be a possible piercing? Otherwise, I'm thinking a flat piercing
It's hard to say without seeing your anatomy and the earplugs. If the plugs have no contact with the area they should be fine as long as they are clean.
I got mine done a week ago and while the piercer was introducing the needle it went through my ear yes, and also through the strap of my face mask… I’m guessing she was either new, nervous or hadn’t done a conch before cause she also didn’t pierce it in one go… thankfully it’s healing well though.
I just got a conch piercing. I’m trying really hard not to let anything come in contact with it, but I have to wear a mask every day! Do you have any advice for reducing the irritation caused by masks or making sure this won’t cause an infection?
I finally got mine done a few days ago. It didn't hurt at all. I didn't even feel it. It's been a few days and it still doesn't hurt. Didn't swell much. It only itches some. Wondering if it's normal??
I’ve been thinking about getting a conch piercing for a while now but I tend to take a while in healing stages. I just wanted to ask what the best way to clean the piercing is? Some say salt solution and others say soap so I’m not sure which to believe
Saline is the best option. I suggest twice daily. Added as a precaution against infection I suggest cleaning the area with an antimicrobial or germicidal soap once a day, twice if you feel like the area has been contaminated.
got my conch pierced 3 days ago and i'm having some swelling and warmth feeling. every time i go to clean it, there is blood. any reason why and any tip to help that?
Watching this after I already got it lmao
Congratulations on your new piercing!!!!

@@loukia2696 congratulations on your new piercing!!!
Body Piercing & Tattooing thank you :)
I'm the kind of idiot that gets both their helix and conch pierced on the same day and then realizes "ah shit, i wear glasses."
Yes, that would be an interesting one and I will add it to the list.
Got my conch done 6 days ago, was so easy and only like a 2/10 for pain, can't wait till I can change to a ring
What did your first ring piercing look like? Was it a stud or what
Same! It was probably like a 3 for me. My helix was like a 1.5 or maybe 2
Weird. My tragus was my least painful but my conch was my more painful piercing
You seem like such a nice and passionate piercer; unlike some who are rlly intimating... Would love to get by pierced with you if possible!!
I'm glad to hear my passion comes across. I can tell you that there are a lot of us out there. Often we appear to be cold prickly but are a more warm and fuzzy. If not, in my opinion they should find a different career.
When I got my helix done I actually bought a neck pillow, put my ear in the opening and put pillow under my neck and it worked amazing!
Yes, the neck pillow is a healing ear piercing's best friend. Thank you for sharing and watching.
Lol that's exactly what I did too!
Genius im getting one ASAP! THANKS
You're welcome and thank you for watching.
I still do that for my daith... after almost 2 years... 😅
Same mines the bleeding mines still hurt n I mines for a month
As soon as I heard your voice there was an instant smile on my face. Very fun to listen to and you have a very positive vibe :)
Congratulations on your new piercing!!!
I got it done 2 years ago it's all healed up now and arguably my favorite piercing of all. I love telling people it's real and not an ear cuff!! My hair was what gave me issues, it would get caught in the jewelry and if I was motioning to tie it up it would tug and sometimes cause flare ups.
I think hair is the most overlooked cause of issues with ear piercings. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
Sounds like you got lucky. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
@@vivianc.8731 That isn't normal and it sounds like you had a rough heal. What were you doing to clean it.
I have my conch pierced and I do enjoy it very much.
Haha, I'm reading this and got the exact same piercings done at the same time yesterday. Glad to know it's nit always bad. Thanks 😊

They are a more painful piercing. Mainly because of how they have to be done. Congratulations on your new piercings and here's hoping they heal easily.
Body Piercing & Tattooing thank u
You are welcome.
Been binge watching all your videos....love them
I'm glad that you are finding the videos informative. Thank you for watching and good luck with becoming a piercer.
I got mine yesterday but still watching 👁️👄👁️
Congratulations on your new piercing and thank you for watching.
Yes, extremely painful but may not have been infected and could have been resolved with a longer piece of jewelry.
never heard anyone call it a skin kitchen....i love it
Skin Kitchen Tattoo is the name of the tattoo studio that the Axiom is inside.
I had mine done few months ago, I do agree, it's very unique here in Brazil.

I just got my conch yesterday I really like it!!!
Congratulations and thank you for sharing
1 month into my conch piercing. It still gets angry but is overall healing alright. I almost always roll onto it during the night and don't wake... I'm pretty sure this is my main issue... It feels loads better than my helix did though which rejected right away.
Conch piercings are prone to sensitivity throughout the healing process. You might want to consider sleeping with a U-shaped travel pillow with your ear elevated on the piercing side. This should reduce the amount of contact.
Isn't the healingtime for a cartilagepiercing 6-12 months? 2-3 months sound way to short to expect a earpiercing to heal
Also removing the jewelry for long periods of time may cause the piercing to close.
silje larsen “healing time” is a very generic term it could mean when you can change it or when it’s totally healed
It does take 6-12 months to fully heal
I think you really can’t generalize that. My helix literally took 3 weeks to fully heal but I got my industrial over half a year ago and it still gets crusty at times. If your body sucks at healing it takes longer of course.
Got this piercing few days ago and no problems at all so as with all my other piercings never had any issues

I had my conch pierced three years ago, and it still gets grumpy and painful on a semi-regular basis. I have never been able to comfortably sleep on it without angering it, and a quick rotation of the earring last night has left it mad today. Will it ever become more care-free, or is this life with this type of piercing?
Got my conch about 5 months ago. It is almost healed now I think. Hope to be able to change to hoop in a few months. I do love the look of it!
When you switch to a ring make sure that it is wide enough to wrap around the ear without adding pressure to the piercing or the ear.
Very informative, I just got my conch pierced 2 days ago. Thank you ‼️

Got mine two weeks ago I think. No pain, heat, or throbbing when getting it. There’s been no crusts or bleeding. It’s my 14th piercing and never had an easier time healing.
You are lucky. Don't let it fool you though, they can get grumpy without notice.
Day 3 of my conch piercing, abouloutly love it! Bit awkward that I wear glasses 24/7 🙈
I always try to mark the piercing with the clients glass on or have them put them on to make sure there isn't in contact with the piercing.
Just had mine done today, and love it! Hopefully it'll heal as good as my daith.
Congratulations on your new piercing.
which one hurt more? I want both but am nervous haha
Good luck!

ive had issues with both my conch piercings (left and right ear), the one on the right 2 of my friends accidentally smacked into really hard when i didnt have it that long yet, it took a looong time to recover from those hits lol. the one on the left was fine until i somehow got a painful blister on the back (maybe used too hot water), but with some tlc that eventually calmed down. now theyre both doing well and living their best lives in my ears.

Awesome video! Thank you! 😊
I'm glad you found the video helpful and thank you for watching.
@@DavidWilkinsDaVo What would you call a "short period of time"? A minute? 10 min? An hour? A day?
@@SaltyPinkShirt it depends on what you are asking me to refer to.
@@DavidWilkinsDaVo I mean, is it okay to remove it for a minute very early on, so I can clean it up properly - let's say a few days after the piercing.

Yes you have been lucky.

I refuse to do them to be honest, I always feel uncomfortable doing videos about piercings I do not suggest getting.
However, you are not the first to request a video. I'll try to get one up here in the next few weeks.
Grateful my piercing isn’t grumpy so far 😌
Me too. I just got my Conch pierced on Saturday and it's doing so good. Here's hoping both of our piercings continue to stay I'm a good mood. Thank you for commenting and watching.
First piercing in Aug 23, which was an industrial and daith. Kinda looking into this, with a hoop upgrade once healed.
You want to heal the piercing with a stud and then wait 8 to 14 months before switching to a ring.
I'm hoping that it cleared up. Yeah infection and other issues suck. No way around it.
Mine was very painful at first
I absolutely love your videos. Getting my conch soon. Thank you!

Every one is different but I did one about and hour ago and the client said they only felt a pinch.
Body Piercing & Tattooing now that I think about it. The piercening itself wasn’t too bad, maybe 5-6/10 but the throbby, stinginess after was a little worse. It feels great today!
Great to hear that it's doing better today.
I do this once a day and it's not annoyed of me anymore the hole day 🤣
I sleep on a travel pillow since I got it, because lying on it isn't imaginable because of the pain. But till now no crust, no infection, everything is fine 😊
Try not doing the soap at all. Conch piercings are grumpy old men. Try not sleeping on it at all. Also rinsing under warm water, feels great.
Is it normal, that it didn't crust or bleed for me? I wash it in the shower every two days and that's all I do. The body heals itself and except I couldn't sleep on it and it hurts if I push my ear back, it feels like it's been ever there. :)

@@BodyPiercingTattooing Thank you very much!
You're welcome and thank you for watching.
both headphones and earbuds work for me, do make sure you keep them clean though
@@m.7741 Thanks, already got it done, looks great and didn't cause any trouble, i can wear headphones and earbuds, which is a relief 😁
I’ve got several different piercings, and I thought I wanted this one to mark an upcoming birthday. This cat has sufficiently turned me off from getting one, lol!
Well the goal is education and knowing what you are getting yourself into.
Body Piercing & Tattooing I’m not mad atcha. 😉
It's always a balance between getting as much information as possible while still keep the desire to get the piercing.
Update: I got it two weeks ago and I love it!
Thank you for sharing and happy to hear that the piercing is doing well.
. Got it done today and i love loveeee it . I already have industrial piercing for almost a year so i know how to deal with this . hurts like 2|10
Thank you for sharing your experience and for watching. I think you may find the healing the conch a little bit easier than the industrial was.
Avishag Alfia how did u deal i’m gonna get a conch but i’m kinda clumsy
@@bobbydabrat6141 it hurts for like two seconds and then its not , after you will feel sensitivity around the area but its not that bad and I had it two weeks ago and it does not hurt at all just take care of it.
Avishag Alfia ye i am getting it friday i’ve had my nose and smiley and cartilage so i think i’ll be okay it’s just like the healing process
Avishag Alfia and my septum
I am getting my conch pierced today!!!
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Can u wear headphones and ear buds after the healing process without it being painful?
Yes, usually it isn't an issue but it depends on the placement, your anatomy, the headphones and jewelry.
I got it three days ago and now I see this video ... still in love with it tho
Congratulations on your new piercing and I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying the piercing.
Body Piercing & Tattooing :)
Getting my conch pierced in an hour so i’m watching this to prepare myself haha. My friend has a conch and she said it’s very calm so i hope mine will be like that too
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
This man just taught me that I am not well equipped for a conch piercing :(
Well, the point of these videos and the piercing consultation I give before every piercing is to educate you enough to know if the piercing is the right choice for you.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing yeah and I appreciate that a lot!! I’m glad you taught me that instead of me getting the piercing and sleeping on it and having it never heal. I’ve been binging all your videos
This is an awesome video!!!
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing thanks for the tips! I will definitely try that!
You are welcome and happy healing.
Could you show the shape of the jewelry you would suggest for getting a conch please. I would want to get a ring eventually. Thanks !
There really is only two of styles I suggest for a Conch piercing. Circular or straight post. I'll try to include a few photos in the next one.
I am going to pierce my ears in a week but I can't decide on doing my second lobes or the conch
Talk to your piercer about the pros and cons of each. The Conch will be a more difficult and longer heal. Lobes means that you will be dealing with a piercing on each side which will impact sleeping, telephones, headphones, etc...
Very informative video! Thank you for sharing that much info :)
I just had my conch pierced with extra length room for possible swelling(w/stud).
Body Piercing & Tattooing thanks for your advise! Very helpful and much appreciated! ;)
You are welcome and thank you for watching.
For medical benefits, does either the left or right ear matter?
I'm not sure what you mean by medical benefits. There is a lot of theories running around the internet that piercings will cure or help with medical conditions. All of these are based on acupuncture, reflexology, Eastern and Alternative Medicine. As I always tell my clients, I'm a professionally trained piercer and not a doctor or a acupuncturist. I'm going to place a piercing where it will heal and look best.
Great video
You seem like a great person 😊
Thank you and thank you for watching.
Had mine pierced today and my tragus.... watching this after 😂😂 my god it hurts lol
The pain should subside and only happen when the piercing has contact. If it is throbbing or being painful without contact, something is wiring and you should have it checked out.
I stuck around just for that t-shirt
I'm a life long fan of Joy Division. Unknown Pleasures is about as close as you can get to a prefect album. They are just one of those bands that had long reaching influence but are rarely mentioned. And when they are it's always about Ian's death.
Conch and flat, which one is harder to heal?
ive had mine for almost a year
did i click and watch this whole video
yes
yes i do
Well congratulations on your hopefully healed Conch piercing and thank you for watching.
Im little over a year healing. Not any pain but bumps come and go. They go away with sea salt rinses but then come right back because I can't seem to stay off it while I'm sleeping :( I don't fully understand because I healed my industrial on my other ear 15 years ago with no issues!
You might want to consider changing the jewelry. Often if the ring is too small or sits in the piercing at an angle it can lead to bumps.
Hi, I just got mine... I have a question: what if I carefully clean my earphones every time before putting them on? Like with alcohol or any type of sanitizer or something like that? Would that be a good idea? Because I wear my earphones almost all the time 😅.
If there is no contact with the piercing or the jewelry, you might be OK. The biggest thing is avoiding pressure on the piercing.
Wow insanely good video thank u!!!
You're welcome, I'm glad glad you found the video informative. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for this video -- super helpful! Now I want one even more. 🙂 I slept on my tragus piercing, I never had any problems. Crossing my fingers for a repeat performance. 🤞
Try elevating it off the bed using a neck pillow or a rolled up bath towel.
It has been a month since my conch piercing. It is now getting really cold out. Can I wear a snow hat?
Yes, I would just try to limit contact with the piercing and make sure the hat is cleaned regularly.
Go on Amazon and get ear savers. They are this clip that pulls the mask strings away from your ears.
watching this made me definetly want mine! i just got my belly button a few days ago and my septum last month so i think i'll wait a few months lol
Thank you for watching and happy to be a part of your research.
I finally got mine done a few days ago. It didn't hurt at all. I didn't even feel it. It's been a few days and it still doesn't hurt. Didn't swell much. It only itches some. Wondering if it's normal??
Swelling and grumpiness is common with Conch piercings. Often they will be healing perfectly and then suddenly flare up.
What are you using to clean and how are you doing the cleaning.
