It's all fun and games until you stop and realise you're addicted. Then, as in my situation went through a withdrawal with symptoms that can't be explained unless experienced personally. Symptoms such as paranoia, racing thoughts, no energy, too Ill to sleep, to tired to stay awake. The good thing is, for anybody going through withdrawal, you can beat this, you will bear this if you're determined. I was addicted to most of the benzo class, Lorazepam, Xanax, vallum, clonazepam, for 10 years. I reduced my dose gradually. I stopped completely in May 2022, it's now August 2022, and I feel fantastic. What's helped me the most? Diet and exercise, reading, learning . Try not to sit around over thinking. Tell yourself, my brain is undergoing changes , I'll feel normal soon. And you will, I promise, but you must stick at it. Love from 🇬🇧
@@jt890 20, they are a god send when you need them. If you don't have an addictive personality it should be fine. Try and use them sparingly, only when absolutely needed. Dependence on these takes around 1 month of taking them everyday. If you take them say 3 to 4 days a week, max with a few days break Inbetweenen doses, then you'll be ok. If you find you've used your 20, and you're craving more, that's a dangerous sign. Knowing what I know now, and what I've been through, I'd make 20 last me 4 weeks before refilling
@@kojacksfootballshack8191 hi im on lorazepam 1mg but i take it only 3/4times per weeks it is ok?as ive insomnia for 3mths now..doc prescribed me.mirtazapine but i have dry eyes aft taking it.at times i take melatonin too
@@aquarius113 Hello. I tried Mirtazipine , but I had the same issue. Your question depends really. Is it just 1mg per day, or evening in your case? Up to 4 times a week? I'd say In the short term that's fine , but if it's a long term thing, you may find it difficult when/if you stop. Remember, benzodiazipines are not a cure for anxiety, or sleep, they just help massively with relieving anxiety, or helping you sleep at a given moment. The danger is, over time your brain will get used to these medications, and then if stopped you may experience withdrawal, which may need to be managed professionally. In my case I relied on these too much, and took them each morning. Over time, my body became immune, and I needed double , then treble what I started with. If you're under medical supervision then don't worry. Also, I'd say if you're only taking them when needed, it doesn't sound like an addiction. I would definitely try sleep meditation, that helps me greatly. Obviously diet is key too. As the saying goes, one who loves well, feels well, sleeps well, must eat well. Natural supplements, such as Lion's mane mushroom, and L Theannine are amazing. I take these two supplement daily now. I noticed a difference after 5 days or so. But yes, 3/4 times a week is ok, and especially if you're under medical supervision, as your Dr is always there to talk to.
@@kojacksfootballshack8191 I’m using lorazepam for 10+ years due to panic attacks, insomnia + anxiety. Besides the first 2 weeks that I was in therapy, I used them only when I absolutely needed them and on very small doses. Usually half the days of a month I used to take 0,5mg, usually before bedtime, every other day. The last one year I’m trying to to take a 0,25mg dose and today on august 2022 I’m trying to get off them, I have took only for 3 times a dose of 0,25mg each due to insomnia. I’m hoping by September I will not need to take any and finally get free. I’m having same withdrawal symptoms but I’m trying not to think about. I also believe that through the years I had some WD between the doses, my doctor tells me that this is not possible, and she also believes that I do not have WD but it’s anxiety what I’m feeling.
You may have depression too and benzos don't help with that. Also if you have DP it doesn't help with that like we think. might want to take Paxil with Risperdal
Be so careful I am not scaring you but benzos any lorazepam , Xanax any of em are very dangerous - please don’t take long term maybe a month or so find something else talk to doctor - Other things work for nerves besides BENZOS -it does brain damage long term it is sneaky you feel better but not for long just be aware good luck ❣️
Dont use it everyday, for longer than 2 or 3 weeks, I used it for 3 months straight before things started to go wrong in my body and it damaged my nervous system, and took a yea r to figure it out and 6 months to wean off, then still having prolonged withdrawal 4 months after. Learn to deal with your panic any other way if possible.
You absolutely cannot quit all at once! You must taper very slowly! Cut approximately 1/8 off and take the 7/8 until you are comfortable with that dose. Then take another 1/8 off and keep repeating this method until you're done! Take your time no rush! You must feel totally comfortable before you taper each time! Good luck my heart goes out to you! Luckily you are on a smaller dose than I was so yours should be easier!
I quit cold turkey my doctor was a writer and he got busted and couldn't write I had an extra bottle cause that doctor prescribed way to much but after that bottle I quit taking it !!! Boy I went thru it big time
There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel I been going through this struggle for many years. I have also been through some hard evil withdrawal to get off it. The only thing i would use is cbd or small amounts of indica strain weed. But there is also a very thin line with weed. I don’t leave the house anymore as I struggle to look up at anyone. I am 6ft tall 110kg heavily tattooed and strong. I now realise how serious this is. I hope everyone out there goes through your day well and stay safe. Thankyou Mrs pots.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
Thank you for sharing your story. I just had my 1st horrific panic/anxiety attack today and I “hated” it so much 😫 I was by myself when this happened and the worst thing I kept thinking is that I’m going to die alone because that’s what it feels like(well to me) Thank God my kind neighbor helped me out when i reached out to her. After seeing someone, I was curious about something like this. Sorry just rambling but again thank you for the review about this because I am considering it, but I’m just scared of the side effects. Peace and love to you.
I'm so sorry you experienced your first panic attack. They really do feel so so awful and scary. I'm glad you were able to get some help from your neighbor. I would consider maybe talking to someone prior to taking this drug. It's a very serious step. I wish you ALL the best
@@whitney0524 the first really bad panic attack you never forget unfortunately and the desire to stop it from happening again make benzos come across as a miracle drug. And maybe so but very hard to get off....
@@SUGAR_XYLER I was as well and I had a very good life with a husband a career and children. I was able to get groceries and be a PTA member etc. It works and I was lucky to have it available. In no way do I feel it's a problem. The problem is when Drs withdrawal people too fast!
Great video I feel your pain! Im 51 was put Om .5mg of Klonopin for anxiety and panic attacks. Was never told by my Dr about withdraw. Was put on it for the past 14 months at the lowest dose. Tapering down to .25mg and the withdraw is bad. Doesn't matter of the dose, dont be misled by that. Try to go slow tapering. I pray a lot and it helps me get by I will keep you in my prayers, please let us know how your feeling. Prayers Michael
Bloody awful drug it shouldn’t be prescribed it causes so many issues it’s worse than the panic , it causes rebound panic and huge anxiety! I mean what is the point it’s ridiculous, u are better off just using other strategies like grounding breathing talk therapy massage meditation group therapy x stay away from benzodiazepines x
Thank you so much for making this video I was prescribed this but I haven't taken it and I doubt I will. I'm sticking to cbd tehe. Prayers for everyone's mental health
The way to quit taking these is to decrease the dose VERY VERY slowly! In order to so this you can cut tiny slivers off the pill gradually as I did it with clonazepam which is also a Benzodiazepine.
@Serene Universe I did the same thing. I just cut my dose in half for two or three days and then a quarter for the night time after that for a couple days. Does it suck? Yeah it does. My sleep still isnt the best and I'm shaky as hell. For a months use or so I think its doable doing it faster. I got scared of the horror stories and I knew I needed to stop while I was ahead.
@Serene Universe I was taking 1mg of xanax per day for about 5 weeks. It did help a lot till my paraxetine kicked in.. So, Pretty low dose. I had a strong feeling of needing to quit from others stories and for my kids. I don't need anymore addictions. I had some sleepless nights and felt a little shaky but I was also starting a new antidepressant so I didn't know what was from what. Yesterday I had the worst headache of my life but today I feel a ton better overall. Take a quarter off each dose and then once you get a few days in only take at night to sleep. You can do it.
@Serene Universe nice! You can do it. I'm still struggling a bit. I have left over meds and I'm fighting to keep away from them. I'm going to try some melatonin or a Tylenol pm. to try and get some sleep tonight.
Should you still expect to feel discomfort, anxiety, and insomnia during a slow taper? I refused to up my dose so I have been on a pretty low dose but for several years and at this point I experience tolerance withdrawal because I won't take a larger dose.
i was given a prescription months ago. starting in december, i had a panic attack while driving home and ever since then i cannot get in my car without having a panic attack. i’ll shake bad. sweat. i’ll cry. scream. then it got to the point of them happening at home. eating food triggered my panic attacks as well so i went from 115 to 97 pounds. i HAVE to get out of the house starting the 1st for school but can’t even go down the street without anxiety… i stare at the pill and can’t take it. i’m certain that it’s going to give me a panic attack itself or make me sick and not actually help me. my friends say it’s a godsend. I have hydroxyzine to take too but haven’t tried that either. how do you guys force yourself to try a new med? i have to get out of the house. i reschedule dentist appointments. i failed a class this term because of me not going on campus. it’s awful!!!
Thank you for sharing a part of your story with me. I completely understand. I suffer from anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia. I have THE WORST fear of taking any new medications, like paranoia bad. I freak out and cry and shake. This was given to me in hospital during an extreme attack and for me it just makes me normal me. No high, no low, not tired. Just no anxiety. Level headed. Able to think. I wish you all the very best. Hang in there.
I feel your pain. I just had this happen to me today and like you mentioned at the dentist as well for teeth cleaning. At first I thought it was what the dentist gave me but now I know it’s my anxiety. I hope like me you find ways to combat this because no one deserve this.
That happened to me...soon you can't drive or do anything it's like a cancer I am 61 now and honestly I think at that point in my life benzos saved me! No other options
Omg Thanks for sharing your story I thought I was alone in this. I failed my classes last year in uni and I couldn’t make it to my drivers license test because I was so afraid of leaving the house (most of my panic attacks happen when Im out of the house) I couldn’t focus due to the lack of sleep and eating and the nervous feelings a get in my stomach is very uncomfortable 😵💫

I thought I was the only one who gets whole body shakes, it's horrendous. Anxiety is awful. Got lorazepam to help for Xmas as an additional med. Two weeks only. I have bipolar so anxious mood happens often, sadly. Appreciate your video, subbed.
I built up a tolerance to Ativan, and the dose had to be increased. After that dose quit working, I asked for something else. My doctor switched me to the POTS medication Clonidine, and I haven't had any of those issues. Since it works by signalling the body not to release so much adrenaline and norepinephrine into circulation and calms the "fight or flight" response, it's often prescribed off-label to treat anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome. My daughter has had similar success on its sister drug, Guanfacine.
Did you notice any weight gain with Clondine? And how long did you tooked it to see fully affective? I been taking it about month lots of my systems but I still need to take from .5mg klonopin to half mg .
Thank you for sharing. My dr is the same. My parents died suddenly and I had panicky attacks, self medicating with alcohol. I eventually went to my doctor and she tried breathing exercises.. it wasnt working. Got on ativan. 1 pill at night or if I was having a severe panicky attack. The quality of my life changed for the better . The withdrawl, gave me insomnia. Itchy skin, Just terrible. The withdrawl is serious. Have a plan for sure
My docs have me on Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Temazepam, Ambien, Lunesta, Hydroxyzine Pamoate, Zonisamide, and Flexeril. I have status epilepticus, multiple sclerosis, status migrainous, torsion, neuromyolyetis optica, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and severe insomnia. I’ve stayed up 6 days straight over the course of over 70 mg of Ativan and 50 mg of Ambien. I’m not making this story up; I used to have a brain tumor. Docs think look at me like I’m from Mars because of how high of a tolerance I have.
I could have done a video and given this exact same story. I'm living this right now with the panic and shaking and waking up into it. I don't know what to do and I just figured it was my ptsd and panic disorder. I too am on a low dose of Lorazepam.
Wow, it’s so amazing when you find other people who can completely relate to your story. Do you have a compassionate doctor/therapist you can discuss your symptoms with? I wish you all the best.
@@whitney0524 I currently just have a General Practitioner that doesnt quite understand. I was referred for counseling and a psychiatrist that I'm headed to on Monday for registration. What was your first step in getting help with POTS?
I was fortunate to have a psychologist who had diagnosed POTS before in a patient who was thought to just have “anxiety.” She recognized my symptoms as being more than just CPtsd or anxiety. From there I Saw my general doc, internal medicine, lots of lab work…cardiology next and they too thought POTS and I got tested. Then referred to specialist in POTS.

I’m in the same boat medically (plus gastroparesis) and plan to work toward getting off of the lorazepam starting March next year. I’m a huge believer and avid user of essential oils and they have helped me tremendously over the last 7 years. Would definitely not want to live without a number of them. Between now and March I hope to put together an essential oil regime to help me succeed. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I wish you the absolute best on this journey! You’re not alone, hun. Take care 💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That’s a great plan! I’m still on the lorazepam, it’s not linear for sure!! Still have the goal of coming completely off but realizing just how slow you have to go. Thanks for reaching out! I wish you the best too!!
I'll try to find a schedule for Ativan. I'll also add all the different pills I took the month I got off Klonipon. See, I horded all my old pills going back like 5 years. They were pills that I had tried and stopped taking. The VA tried every anti-psychotic, every mood stabilizer and antidepressant. That's how I happened to have like 15 different pills to take in low dose a few days then switch and so on..
Hey girl I also use a benzo for my POTS as well. It’s the only thing that I take to control those “dumps” as I call them. That and liquid IV and Cold packs are the only things I use for my POTS as of now. I know another option is Beta blockers or Calcium channel blockers as well as the anxiety med BuSpar or Ivabraidin. I have really bad reactions to medications so I can only take .5 of Xanax for those huge adrenaline dumps. I think something to remember is that our body’s nervous system is now different from other peoples nervous systems. I would definitely find a good POTS doctor in your area. I know it’s extremely hard to find good MDs that know about it and it’s such a scary experience. Hang in there I was diagnosed about 2 years ago now and mine also just happened out of nowhere. I went to cardiology for them to diagnose me and try some different meds also did a table top test that is what confirmed my diagnoses. Try not to be to hard on yourself as some things are made for people who actually need them.
I was wondering if anyone else had this experience. I had what i assume are adrenaline dumps at work and i feel this weird sensation at the back of my head and i feel like for a split second im in fight or flight and then afterward i start to go into a pots flare. Ativan always helps in these cases
You have an amazing story. I stumbled across your video and glad I did. I literally feel like we had the same issue. Mine was brought on by a traumatic experience in 2021 and I literally woke up two nights in a row with extreme tremors and freaking out. It's gotten a little better but I definitely am not myself. I just wanna feel normal again!
I’m sorry that I’m just now getting back to you! Wow, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Have you Been able to investigate further or see a doctor and get any answers?
Thanks for the video, hope it’s getting better for you. The withdrawal thing sounds like a nightmare. Want to talk to my doctor about it but a little worried about taking A heavier dose.
i have a long standing issue with suicidal ideology and bipolar i use 4-6 mg a day of ativan and 400-600 mg of seroquel . everytime i try to slow my meds or quit them i end up losing it and getting 51/50 and 52/50 :( so for how i feel about it . if it helps good thats what its for if it's not hurting you then i don't see much of a issue . i wish everyone the best of luck
@@girlanonymous Its because the bipolar with out Seroquel I get manic. Also I'm a big guy 115 kilos with a high resistance to meds . I'd like to say thanks this reminded me of how much progress I made in the last year . I'm off of Ativan and down to 100mg of Seroquel a day . A more aggressive therapy schedule made a world difference. I still say meds are a great option if that's what's really needed at the time
These benzos are no joke. 15 year old klonopin here. I'm sorry you felt that hell. it's a very terrifying feeling. remember my first panic attack at 15. Hello. Thanks for reaching out. It was my psychologist who first suggested I had POTS. Then the diagnosis culminated from tests from cardiology and my POTS Specialist. I have found the anxiety part of the POTS, and how my POTS attacks mimic fight or fight and panic attacks, the hardest part to deal with. I am currently getting weekly IV Saline treatments that help with the brain fog and tachycardia and general energy. Exercise has really started to help as well and I'm hopeful that as I continue to build strength I'll gain back more functionality. The mental health side of things is a work in progress and I'm constantly in a battle with myself over taking lorazepam. I wish you all the best!!
@@whitney0524 thank you so much for your reply. It really helps me put into perspective about the issues have seem to be having. Could you explain the brain fog part of your problem? Certainly. When I have brain fog, I can't think straight, concentrate, I'm in a fog and my head feels funny. It's really one of the hardest things to explain.

I have tried medical cannabis and doesn't come close to how lorazepam stops my anxiety panic attack on its tracks, it's even scary it's such powerful fast acting drug. I'm so conflicted I only have a few left I cut in 3! I know my doctor like your doctor will not want to prescribe more. Does anyone knows an alternative? Worried
Where with you. God bless. Stay calm if you can and know your not alone. You will get better. Try not to fight the panic , give it the cold shoulder. Takes practice but eventually it will work. I had OCD when I was younger. I would have bad anxiety attacks thinking that I had run somebody over in my car. This went on for years. I learnt from my mum to accept the irrational thoughts and not to fight them. The amazing thing was eventually the anxiety attacks would have no power over me. Medical people lack a understanding of the absolute hell anxiety and panic attacks can cause. Medication is good but you must also learn some simple techniques as above. Praying for your complete eventual recovery. I have learnt medication is essential when used responsibility. Do not ever go cold turkey with medication. I did this with antidepressants and God it was bad for two months.Never do this always wean yourself off. It about being responsible and disciplined with your health..

I thought I was alone going through this. My story is very similar. I got prescribed 10 a month at .5 I would take half a ativan and able to function like a normal person. Moving forward gp stopped prescribe it to me for fear of addiction. Now I'm so riddled with anxiety.
@@whitney0524 on and off about a year. Lately my anxiety has been horrible . About a year and a half I was in the hospital for two weeks with low sodium. And ever since then my anxiety has been uncontrollable, internal tremors, having trouble walking and sometimes speaking.
Here's something to keep in mind. I'm sorry if this worries you more, but it's the concept of "kindling". It shouldn't be a huge issue here, but it may make you think twice about ever getting back on a benzo in the future. You'll get through this. This too shall pass. From Wikipedia: Repeated benzodiazepine withdrawal episodes may result in similar neuronal kindling as that seen after repeated withdrawal episodes from alcohol, with resultant increased neuro-excitability. The glutamate system is believed to play an important role in this kindling phenomenon with AMPA receptors which are a subtype of glutamate receptors being altered by repeated withdrawals from benzodiazepines. The changes which occur after withdrawal in AMPA receptors in animals have been found in regions of the brain which govern anxiety and seizure threshold; thus kindling may result in increased severity of anxiety and a lowered seizure threshold during repeated withdrawal. Changes in the glutamate system and GABA system may play an important role at different time points during benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome

They told you to talk to a Psychologist and not a Psychiatrist? Never talk to that Dr. again… also, I was on Lorazepam for 4 years… and when I moved to Indiana from Tennessee, I never went and refilled it and I never felt any dependency towards it…
It depends on the person. Some for years, and some for only a couple of weeks or months. This is not something you want to take if you've never taken any except maybe once or twice if you really need it.

I am in a similar situation. I’ve been taking 0.25 klonopin now daily for the last six months and every time I tell my psychiatrist that I don’t think it’s good and that I want off it she says I’m not stable enough yet and that coming off won’t be difficult because we will do a slow taper. I know that’s bs since I’ve seen many videos of people who struggled even on a small dose Now I don’t know what to do since she won’t take me off it and I really want to stop taking this crap. I have been experiencing a really bloated stomach for the last month or so, now heart palpitations almost regularly and I think it’s def linked to the bezo but no one to listen to me!!!!!
I'm really sorry you're going through that. I think if you really want to come off it and look for other means of coping, your doctor should support that. Maybe it's time to find a new doctor?
@@whitney0524 yeah I think so but I have already talked to a few and none of them touch on my concern with this! It would be nice to find a psychiatrist that has seen patients with similiar situations and who can actually say yes this is from the benzo :/
I understand. Either way, it's your body and your decision to stop. I would try very slowly to taper and see how you tolerate. Always listen to your body and don't rush it at all.
@@whitney0524 I want to do a micro taper and just see how I tolerate it. contemplating bringing this up to her but I already know she won't be happy about it and just tell me some bs Have you started your taper?
I think that sounds like a good plan. I'm still on the 1/4 of a mg morning and night. Which is lower than before. But I'm kind of stuck there. I'm not rushing it but the goal def is to come off of it as soon as I can. I'm in constant contact with my doctors about it and I think things will be okay.

Reading this while having a panic attack at night, I took Ativan and it’s working. if anyone has some symptoms please advise. 1. I wake up in the middle of the night many times a week feeling anxious 2. I will then start having stomach twitching ( stomach goes in and out ) 3 I will try to go to the washroom or downstairs to claim myself. Does anyone have the same symptoms
Love from 🇬🇧
Now I’m scared to use it cause I got 20 from my doctor
@@jt890 20, they are a god send when you need them. If you don't have an addictive personality it should be fine. Try and use them sparingly, only when absolutely needed. Dependence on these takes around 1 month of taking them everyday. If you take them say 3 to 4 days a week, max with a few days break Inbetweenen doses, then you'll be ok. If you find you've used your 20, and you're craving more, that's a dangerous sign. Knowing what I know now, and what I've been through, I'd make 20 last me 4 weeks before refilling

Then take another 1/8 off and keep repeating this method until you're done! Take your time no rush! You must feel totally comfortable before you taper each time! Good luck my heart goes out to you! Luckily you are on a smaller dose than I was so yours should be easier!

I need all the info I can get on this. I can't lie, it's scary. I'm the same way, I hate taking pills. Is there anyway back to normal? Thanks for sharing the video.
I'm not sure if that's what I have. I have issues with my head, like it feels like pressure in the back of my head and near my eyes and nostrils.
Certainly. When I have brain fog, I can't think straight, concentrate, I'm in a fog and my head feels funny. It's really one of the hardest things to explain.
Also given lorezapam uneccesarily in the ER.
Great video learned a lot

Thank you for this video I feel less lonely! My story is basically the SAME as yours! It all started after 2 visits to ER! Ativan was a lifesaver the first time they gave it to me 20 minutes later my body stopped shaking was a miracle. Nowadays few months later I'm wandering what will be a safer alternative!?? I have tried medical cannabis and doesn't come close to how lorazepam stops my anxiety panic attack on its tracks, it's even scary it's such powerful fast acting drug. I'm so conflicted I only have a few left I cut in 3! I know my doctor like your doctor will not want to prescribe more.
Does anyone knows an alternative? Worried
Talk to a specialist psychiatrist about a antidepressant they help with anxiety and panic. Talk to a specialist about your symptoms.
I literally had this same experience and the did ekgs and checked my bpd and they said everything was normal, the next day I had a weird experience again and went to the hospital. I just recently got put on Ativan for a week and told me to take it as needed. I talk to my doctor tomorrow. They’ve been telling me it’s anxiety but I guess we’ll see
I hope you get some answers and are doing okay!
Any updates?
Switched from clonazepam to ativan one month. HATED IT. Made me feel sick. Always withdrawing. No half life.
Going through the same. Tapering is tough still trying.
I'm sorry. Yes, I'm still in the same boat As well. It's by no means an easy process that's for sure. But if we are determined, I know we can do it :-) hang in there and reach out anytime you need support.
How do you feel now???
Try switching to Klonpin and slowly taper.

Have any of you taken lorazepam for anxiety?
Had a dose or two in the ER, but was on Klonopin 17 out of the last 25 years, it destroyed my physical and mental health and frankly my life. All benzos and Z drugs are poison if you take them longer than a few days. Complete poison !!!

I'm down to 2 mg lorazepam and I rewatch your videos now and then to help! How are you now!? Last I saw you where on a liquid taper?
Hello! I’m still on it! Usually 3/4 a pill a day or 1 pill. Hard times and hard Health have made it very hard to taper. But I plan to very shortly restart my taper!!
I take lorazopam only as needed because sometimes I get panic attacks so bad that I can't move I can't breathe or talk and there's no calming down so they gave me that for sedation and I fell asleep. My last panic attack was so bad after my ferret died that I had pretty much a mental psychosis break down I was screaming, talking to myself looking insane, and hitting walls, cause I just wanted this pain to end. So my mom took me to hospital and they gave me that and the rest was a blur it felt like a fever dream. I have some for emergency
I would just like to Thank you for sharing your experiences with Lorazepam. I have been on 1mg twice a day for 5 months. Now trying to come off them reduced to 0.5mg twice a day. The withdrawal symptoms are horrendous. Pins and needles all over my body, Nausea, Anxiety Panic attacks. Loss of weight. Depression is worse. I wish I had never taken it.
I took it for 2 months and havent had any withdrawal symptoms. Its been a week I have stopped taking it. You didnt take it for too long, 5 months is not as long as other people whove taken it for years. Are you doing better now?
I was on Ativan for 4 yrs and stopped cold turkey. I didn't even know it could cause withdrawals from disuse. I am sure it's mind over matter. And if you don't know it doesn't cause withdrawals, it won't, meaning it is all mental
My son stopped cold turkey. Didn’t know it would cause withdrawals. He has had 3 seizures since and he has only been on it for two years and 2 mg twice a day. Everyone’s body is different.
You posted this 3 weeks ago. Where are you now in your withdrawal journey? Still no side effects?

I think functioning is so important and I took it just to stop the panic attacks and feel normal. I have been a single person and also a mother. Being agoraphobic was not a option! Yet I get a lot of criticism and actually get put in a group. home...not only.do you get in withdrawal you have the symptoms out of.control. I think its like if someone on insulin feels guilty..

Here's something to keep in mind. I'm sorry if this worries you more, but it's the concept of "kindling". It shouldn't be a huge issue here, but it may make you think twice about ever getting back on a benzo in the future. You'll get through this. This too shall pass.
From Wikipedia:
Repeated benzodiazepine withdrawal episodes may result in similar neuronal kindling as that seen after repeated withdrawal episodes from alcohol, with resultant increased neuro-excitability.

Do NOT even start Ativan. I’m almost three years without and I still have withdrawal symptoms
what is the withdrawal like.. I've been on it for 6mth on off
I am in a similar situation. I’ve been taking 0.25 klonopin now daily for the last six months and every time I tell my psychiatrist that I don’t think it’s good and that I want off it she says I’m not stable enough yet and that coming off won’t be difficult because we will do a slow taper.
I know that’s bs since I’ve seen many videos of people who struggled even on a small dose
Now I don’t know what to do since she won’t take me off it and I really want to stop taking this crap.
@@whitney0524 I want to do a micro taper and just see how I tolerate it. contemplating bringing this up to her but I already know she won't be happy about it and just tell me some bs
