@Stepheninthehills I love all these nice comments, Simon is such a nice bloke and I love to watch his videos too. So calming. Anyway, peace to you brother, and another dash of love from England ❤️ oh, you too Simon haha ❤
I m here in Missouri and just got in from working in the garden, found a tick crawling up my leg… oops I lied here’s another behind my knee….damn the little bastards, they come out of nowhere and hide in seldom checked damp spots…moral of that story is strip and check every crack and crevice possible- if you have a friend or companion - get them to look you over with a fine tooth comb 😂
Love video's that you and Andy do together. You two just compliment one another so well. You both bring humor, fun, friendship, good tips, yummy meals and just relaxing video's. Thanks for bringing us with and hope to have more in the future 😊
I watched Kent Survival’s video of the same trip. Different story tellers - really an interesting comparison. I’m sure you and Andy watch both versions. I wonder how many viewers have done the same? Thanks
That fire bowl is the best! I’m in the Colorado mountains where some campers leave fires unattended. 🙄 Besides resulting forest fires, we locals are being punished with sky high insurance rates. Love Love Two Blokes!
I love watching you guys on a joint camping trip. Now I don't have to watch two videos to see my two favorite blokes. I appreciate the content guys, thank you!!
Missed this last week! I know I am late to the party but I didn't want to not comment. Always enjoy your posts Simon. But when you and Andy go adventuring, it's always so entertaining. Such sumptuous cooking! I don't know if I would tackle those dishes in my modern and well appointed kitchen, much less over a wood fire or camp stove. And I love the bed conversion in the Land Rover. The way everything just fit together and made such a comfy looking bed. It all looked so well done! You are a man of many talents, Simon! Take care and be safe out there. Looking forward to your next adventure! 👍👍☺☺🧡🧡
My favorite camping guys Simon and andy❤ you guys have a great friendship together and you are both entertaining and good looking a real treat to watch (eye candy) 😍
Buy some big reusable dessicant bags and place them in a small open top container while packed away which is what I have done to help alleviate the mold and musty smell from my rooftop tent. Another product I use is damp rid but you have to be sure you have room for the little container to not spill as they collect moisture and trap it in the bottom. I also set my tent up and sprayed it with a canvas mold and mildew treatment and let dry really well. The tents are fantastic but do have the drawbacks you stated when not in a dry arid place. Keep the land rover camps coming!
Great camp Simon. My 3rd great-grandfather left Preston, England in 1856 and came to the U.S. and joined a wagon train that landed his family in Arizona. He could do anything out in the wild. I think he would have enjoyed watching your videos.
My third great grandfather was a coachman, in Southern England. He died because the coach got stuck in a gateway & as he tried to free the horses they panicked & reared & killed him.
Great to see you back in the Land Rover Simon! Always love it when you do these videos, would be great to see you do some more stays in the Land Rover more often 😃 always enjoy your videos though, look forward to the next!
You have a super land rover and the music you play fits the vehicle. Keep up with your camping trips. It seems to be the only way i go camping by watching your videos.
Great stuff Simon, really enjoy your twin video's which give a different perspective on your adventures. I appreciate the amount of time and effort you and Andy put into your video's which are produced to such a high standard. Cheers mate, looking forward to the next one.
Cheeky bottle turn on Andy's table, love it. The bed you've just finished looked super-comfortable with a grey-Maggie pillow. Meals looked delicious. Beautifully filmed, Simon. God bless.
Boy you really have to have a taste for SPAM , there’s not one person in my household that likes SPAM . Man that kinda.Ike corn bread thing you guys made , makes me think of a breakfast with Mush with maple syrup , sausage & eggs & gravy with some Goetta & a few slices of home grown tomatoes with a pinch of sea salt & pepper on them . Now that’s a breakfast at least for me on early mornings when I go fishing .
Hi lads this trip looks fun. It reminds me of my life on the farm as a kid driving a land rover not sure which one but it was late 60's. Ive always wanted my own. And Spam haven't had that for years. I also like the subtitles on all youtube videos not just yours , they seem to misinterpret some words. But it's good to see another good vid of good mates enjoying good food in a great location.
I have a friend I go on outings like this with. We mostly just sit around a fire and don't talk. It's very peaceful and rejuvinating. I love ya'lls friendship. Nice.
Out of all the content that I watch on a daily basis, your vids always come first. It’s like yes! Simon dropped a new one! I particularly love the intro and outro music that you choose. A mixture of Americana, folk, blues. Good ole guitar/banjo pickin’. Always fun!
Hi Simon! I "met" you on Andy's channel and thought I would give your channel a try. I enjoy listening to you and Andy chit chat and look forward to more of your videos.
Fabulous camp Simon, my favourite collaboration with Andy from Kent Survival too, you two always do a great camp together and plenty of laughs and facts along the way, always awesome viewing. Thank you very much and hope to see more in the future please.
So grateful, recently, there always seems to be a Simon video appearing, right when my poor mental health and over active brain needs it. Thank you Simon!! Also got to love that when people have all the 'posh' gear, like the wedges to level up their trucks.... Simon just uses logs and it does the job just as well. 😊
“I think the rain is stopping” … …so much for airing and drying out the tent. Hopefully you’ve had time and appropriate weather to do so. Love your videos, Simon. Hoping your ratatouille gets at least one thumb up.
Hello, I came across your videos a few weeks ago and I'm really enjoying them. I'm inspired by them, how amazing packing up and going on adventures. Thank you for the entertainment, the places you visit look so lovely.
I always love watching what delicious stuff you guys cook up without the aide of a fancy kitchen! Don't need a lot of bells and whistles to make a great meal!
Superb stuff! Great to see the boys in the band, back together! I used to be a big land rover head, but my Lithuanian friend killed it for me, and I quote, ‘every time you see a Land Rover it is either going to,or coming from the garage!
I love your duo.. Andy being Andy is always good to see.. and that "Atleast the rain is stopping" and the next shot was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nice one Simon.!(My managers name is also Simon lol)
Hi Simon, another great vid. As for the roof tent smelling and musty, if you can smell it, the mould spores are in the air inside, and could be a health hazard. If you find mould inside, leave it all open to air, and remove the mould. But i`m sure you already know that?.
Love watching yours and Andy's videos of the same camp, back to back! The lamb chops looked amazing and delish! The spam with ketchup...well, maybe not so much. 😂 Always look forward to the next ones! ATB, and thanks for bringing us along.
Brilliant video as always Simon. Really enjoy when you and Andy get together, you are both like long lost brothers / old married couple. Nice editing touch with the rain holding off, genuinely laughed out loud!
Hi Simon, i really enjoy watching you and kent survival, i'v always been a big fan of camping, unfortunately my partner is disabled so can't get out at all, so watching you guys is the next best thing, cheers mate
Alu Cab do a full roof conversion that may not be as bad as you could pop the Roof and air it with air from the inside of the Landy. I have recently watched a Couple Convert their Landy and they had to upgrade the Struts to take the extra weight that they were putting on top of the roof. As they had Solar Panels and a custom roof rack to take said panels and two surfboards below that, with room for some large watertight boxes. With that system you would still be able to choose where to sleep or just enjoy the extra head room with the roof up. Cracking Video as always and really enjoyable when you team up with Andy.
That is a very important point you made there sir… Having a product that was made for another climate altogether… could be prove tricky using it in English weather 👍 That’s a piece of advise a lot of people should hear 👍
I haven’t watched the full video yet, as that would be impossible unless I have skipped some, but already I know it is going to be exceptional, in both camera work, and bushcraft skills. So thank you Simon for another amazing video, your hard work never goes unnoticed. I hope you are keeping well, many thanks, Ben
Living the dream with the dream-team. The glimmer twins - Eric & Ernie -Beavis & Butthead - The Gruesome Twosome - the Two Lone Swordsmen call them what you will you have got to admire their tenacity. Hugs.
I love landies…..took one over East Africa and always liked tinkering and customising. Or should I say, they always NEED tinkering and customising, but that’s the charm that comes with owning one. They always show a bit of character…..like the rear left, automatic open and closing door character that yours showed while leaving camp. Great camp, Simon. Thanks for sharing, inspired me to pack and head out in my Ally canoe tomorrow for a weekend paddle and camp. Keep the videos coming!
Ah, my two favourite "Tubers"......❤ Great content simon, Great to see your two different styles, Andy with his maxx Traxx ramps to get his vehicle level and simon with three or four logs.....👏🏻👏🏻😂😂 And simon, "pretty uneventful trip down to Kent, only one snapped fan belt and a puncture"........🤭👌🏻 And after watching this, im having SPAM! for dinner tonight. Love you guys 👍🏻 Cheers Simon✌🏻
Hey Simon! Hello from Mexico! We started watching Andy’s videos awhile back and we just love when you are in them! We love watching your videos now as well! Question: Where did you find that vintage coffee maker ( 26:37 )? We have a few different Italian moka makers but yours is awesome! Thanks for all you do! We enjoy it very much!
Thanks, Simon, for taking us along on another trip. Looks like you're really getting the Land Rover dialed in. Its a shame that the pop up was mildewey. Nice trip out. Always nice to get out with friends and enjoy outdoors. God bless brother, and stay safe on your travels.
Lovely video again Simon! Your old Landrover is a truly very fascinating vehicle how you have customised it like a Transformer to suit all your Camping requirements! I love all the little storage units and bits that pull out and transform into a comfy bed all very cool stuff! You just can’t beat an old classic landy! Lol! Look forward to what’s coming up next! Thanks Simon take care! 😊
35:17 Didn’t realise the Defender had self closing rear doors! Always look forward to your (and Andy’s) videos. A different perspective on the same camp. Not sure what I enjoy the most, the camp or the cooking. Looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
I'm so happy I discovered your channel, and Andy's as well. I live in the U.S, in Oregon specifically. I'm about to turn 77, and I've been wild camping since my 20s. That said, even old dogs can learn new tricks, and I've learned a few from you that will make my trips easier. I intend to continue wild camping (always solo, I might add) until I can no longer walk upright & carry a backpack. Nice job with your videos, and be safe out there!
great pals.lost my walking pal ted on New Years day 71 yrs friends.will miss him.enjoy.
Love your Landrover. It has so much character.
Came over from Kent Survival channel.
Nice one Simon and Andy, Make sure you shut the Landy door properly....lol

@Stepheninthehills I love all these nice comments, Simon is such a nice bloke and I love to watch his videos too. So calming. Anyway, peace to you brother, and another dash of love from England ❤️ oh, you too Simon haha ❤
I was with you as well. Next time, do your dishes, sir, I am not your man, servant. L O L much love from Texas.
Here in Tennessee we would be covered in ticks if we camped in cover like that! Y’all are lucky!
There’s nothing better than sitting here at work on a miserable day eating lunch watching a video from Simon thank you Simon
Super clever set up in the landrover, cool to watch.
Both of you already show that you like the dish by nodding your head in the same way :) .... thanks for the camp 👍
U mates sure r compatible/ it’s a pleasure watching u both advance in the outdoor world. U both r very relatable. 🌞😉
Love video's that you and Andy do together. You two just compliment one another so well. You both bring humor, fun, friendship, good tips, yummy meals and just relaxing video's. Thanks for bringing us with and hope to have more in the future 😊
yessssss!!!!!
I watched Kent Survival’s video of the same trip. Different story tellers - really an interesting comparison. I’m sure you and Andy watch both versions. I wonder how many viewers have done the same?
Thanks
Oh I'm so glad I found this channel.
"That's just Moroccan spices."
😊
All very civilised with the tables, as I said on Andy's video he's even got you using a knife & fork now!
I know! He’s got me all civilised 😂
You always have such great music in your videos, Simon!
Simon puts more effort into his Camping meals then a lot of people put into their everyday cooking.
The LandRover bed is awesome, nice work.
Great video! Love it when you & Andy camp & hang out…🍺
Yeah man, always nice to see you two together in an episode

Thank you - a friend of mine has offered me some big bags of desiccant that I’ll try - might even install some vents (weatherproof ones) 👍
Great video and camp - thanks, Simon (and Andy). The LR setup is really clever!
So awesome when you and Andy team up !
great video, as usual, thanks Simon & Andy.
Great camp Simon. My 3rd great-grandfather left Preston, England in 1856 and came to the U.S. and joined a wagon train that landed his family in Arizona. He could do anything out in the wild. I think he would have enjoyed watching your videos.
I think if you’d shown him the video he would’ve burned you for witchcraft
My third great grandfather was a coachman, in Southern England. He died because the coach got stuck in a gateway & as he tried to free the horses they panicked & reared & killed him.
I love seeing you two camping together.
Great to see the other side of Andy's video.
Exactly
Great to see you back in the Land Rover Simon! Always love it when you do these videos, would be great to see you do some more stays in the Land Rover more often 😃 always enjoy your videos though, look forward to the next!

It's great seeing you and Andy back together again in another great video.

Top tip for using any stovetop coffeepot is to take it off the boil before it starts bubbling @27:18. You'll end up with noticeably less bitter drink.
Sugar sorts that out.
Fabulous camp Simon, my favourite collaboration with Andy from Kent Survival too, you two always do a great camp together and plenty of laughs and facts along the way, always awesome viewing. Thank you very much and hope to see more in the future please.
Loved Andy's video, and loved this one too. It's always nice to get two perspectives on the same camp. The Spitfire was a real bonus!

Feasting like Kings! 👌🏼
Hi Simon, I always enjoy videos with you and Andy. You are as bad as one another haha!
I just love any videos you post Simon! Your music, views, adventures & personality keep me wanting more!

NICE TO SEE BOTH OF YOU ENJOYING THE NATURE,
Nice location, comes with a free Spitfire flypast :D
Superb stuff! Great to see the boys in the band, back together! I used to be a big land rover head, but my Lithuanian friend killed it for me, and I quote, ‘every time you see a Land Rover it is either going to,or coming from the garage!
😂😂 yet 75% of series and defender land rovers ever built are still on the road 😉
@@simonablokeinthewoods they are fab in fairness, used to love driving, or should I say, aiming one. A Fairey overdrive is a must!

That is a very important point you made there sir…
Having a product that was made for another climate altogether… could be prove tricky using it in English weather 👍
That’s a piece of advise a lot of people should hear 👍
I haven’t watched the full video yet, as that would be impossible unless I have skipped some, but already I know it is going to be exceptional, in both camera work, and bushcraft skills.
I love you guys so much! Stay awesome! 💯💯💯
Another entertaining one with you and Andy! Even the rain is manageable when overlanding. Thanks for sharing.
