Dana Matalon is a clinical psychologist living in Northern California. She is strong, sensitive, compassionate, and warm in her approach to life and in her work with others. She recognizes that vulnerability is strength and that healing happens in vulnerable connections with others.
In this episode, Dana shares a history of growing up in constant fear, developing an eating disorder, trying to live perfectly, and eventually developing a dawning awareness that everything she did to survive was slowly killing her. Dana shares with emotional rawness about the experiences that led her to treatment and what recovery looks like in her life today. She lives an imperfect life and an imperfect recovery. She says this proudly as it stands in direct opposition to the demands she hears from her eating disorder every single day. Today, she has what her eating disorder told her she didn’t deserve: A loving relationship with her partner, close friends, and a successful career.
Dana is available for consultation, speaking engagements, and advocacy.

Thanks for shedding light on how food can also be an addiction & just as deadly as drugs! Thank you Dana for telling your story.♥️
