For you guys who're getting upset about this, I know it can be a bit offensive to hear, but it was at the time, just how people spoke. But nowadays we know better, and we are allowed to talk about how people in the past had more backwards thinking, just like we are allowed to talk about how doctors of the middle age were preety useless by treating eveything with bloodletting, for example. I don't understand why you are so triggered by poeple who acknolegde that we evolved as a society.
Forget about the aesthetics for a second and look at how they still cared about quality. The average modern suitcase would immediately disintegrate if two people stood on it like that.

But at the same time the stupid comments of the male narrator, who has managed to talk in a dismissive manner about women in a commercial, made for women! "Women are gossiping, women accumulate too many things in their bags, bla-bla-bla," - several nasty remarks in a 2-minutes video! This is 50-s for you,- with their beautiful fashion and perfectly clever design, but nasty machizm.
Yes! Especially this video. I've seen a number of movies and commercials from this era, and honestly none of them have been as bad as this one. Not just dismissive or patronizing as they tended to be. Like actual digs at women.. To a point where it almost sounds like a modern spoof of the 1950s.
