I hate to drop reality on you, but Hell's Kitchen isn't a talent show. It's not about finding competent people who work well together to manufacture dishes to be served to people. It's about finding plausibly competent individuals who exercise enough dramatic overreaction and/or incessant blame to manufacture a half-decent television show where Ramsay can find excuses to prod them for entertainment. So he made it to Hell's Kitchen the same way as any other contestant.
Imagine if Josh and Raj were in the same team, Josh won't be able to stop compulsively cooking food and Raj won't be able to stop compulsively eating it
Add the chef that threw all the spagetti away and they other chef that got the food out of the garbage can, and they'll be like a dream team Edit: Melinda (S6) and Jen (S3), I did a little research

You can tell when Gordon doesn’t agree with the people who are nominated to be eliminated. He looks disappointed like it’s clearly not them that are the issue 😂
I'm surprised they let Ji work on a sprained ankle and then was applauded for it, like she had to wheel herself out how could they expect her to work the next day on that foot
Ji leaving still brings me to tears. I wish Gordon would bring her back on to try again! I would also like to see Carrie get a second chance without Elise around! That would be a great topic for a video. Contestants the super-fans want to see brought back for another chance. If you haven't seen what Robert looks like these days you should google it. You won't recognize him!
I hated Elise and Robyn the most but I agree with you they should give Carrie another shot I think her whole team ganged up on her after a while and kept sending her up for elimination even with a good service I was hoping they was put her on the blue team
Disagree with Carrie getting another chance as she was a weak cook lmfaoo. Even if she was moved to the blue team in her season, her weaknesses would be exposed.
Josh may have been one of the worst black jackets of all time, but I will always give him credit for having a reasonable, respectful reaction to the sheer rage that Gordon gave him. It's one the most savage mid-service eliminations in HK history, and he took it with all the grace and humor that anyone could. Mad props to him for that.
Joseph, Joseph, Joseph. No one would be proud to have someone who has such little respect for someone that they can't answer "First nominee and why" to Gordon Ramsey. If I saw him on an application and recognized him, I'd just ask, "First nominee and why?" and see him melt down under the pressure of answering a simple four word question.
😅😂😂I'm watching this for the first time and his whole attitude was soo off!!! I was like, is he high????!!! Like something made him paranoid beyond belief!!😅🤣😂
Yeah it breaks my heart when chefs lose to medical problems. Even though I didn't think Robert could win, he was still worth seeing through as far as he could.
The contestants don't seem to understand that the nominations are also part of Gordo's judging. Being able to identify who needs to go is an important quality that he's testing.
I said this on another video re: Joseph's elimination that I think is relevant this comment: The reason Gordon wanted Joseph to not only name the elimination candidates, but also give reasons for why, is because he expects even the people who are safe/staying to understand, and be able to articulate, why a person is up for elimination/cannot be allowed to remain. When Joseph kept refusing to give reasons why his teammates were being sent home, not only was it cocky and disrespectful of him, it's also him refusing to actually explain what they had done wrong. If it's so obvious, and "they know what they did", he should also know, and have no trouble spelling it out.
Robert in the present does not look like the Robert we saw in Hell's Kitchen and in a very good way. He lost 455 pounds and is doing very well for himself.
I have heard reports that Gordon Ramsay’s staff have the utmost respect for him because he treats them with the same respect. My father was a very successful businessman (who never yelled though) and he had some of his former staff fly to Queensland from Victoria over 25 years after he had retired just to visit him, he had the same wonderful staff for years. I lost my dad in December 2022 aged 87 and some of his staff still post on his facebook for his birthday and anniversary. It is very touching to know that he was so loved ♥️
Which is exactly why she shouldn’t have set herself up to go. She offered to go, she really didn’t have to and still worked excellent with her injury. She just got herself kicked for guilt and partially her own pridefulness.
Anyone else cry during Robert's part? Just so touching he got the opportunity to join the kitchen once more, after his health issues. I hope hes well to this day, and bet he makes bomb food. I'll be digging for that episode :3
You can tell he makes a big deal to keep the standards high but he really does have a heart, the fact he came from the streets is also why it makes it funny when that one dude challenged him to settle things outside, yes there were security guards, but Gordon didn't flinch, he didn't back down in any way, he didn't distance himself, he's obviously been there before.
actually i think joseph trying to get in gordon ramsey’s face and act tough didn’t phase gordon bc gordon has a black belt in karate, it’s not a secret but a lot of people don’t know.
Ramsay has had an extremely tough life. He has said that his father was beyond abusive to the point where his own mother told him to run away and never come back if he wanted to survive. He did say that one of the last straws for him with his father was his father threatening him and when he spoke up, his father rushed him so hard and so quickly Ramsay ran straight out the door. He later said that he knew his father had intentions of actually killing him. He's been in this position before and I doubt he would let some punk intimidate him like his father. When having an abusive upbringing, you condition yourself later on in life to handle the same thing in a stoic way. He's not scared because he's had much..much worse. He's also a black belt so he could floor Joseph in a second if he wanted to.

She's one of those people that makes me wonder whether or not they can actually be that terrible of a person, if she acted up for the cameras, or they just cut around her to make her seem THAT awful. Cause the show made her look insufferable.
@@TheMadAfrican1 This was all her. Ramsey gave her plenty more chances than she deserved.
I love how Gordon has yelled way louder for way easier mistakes to make than he yells at Josh for the panic cooking. But it's because he's just so stupefied and surprised he can't even be fully mad, he's just confused why someone isn't cooking spaghetti to order
The genuine confusion as he interrupts himself in surprise
Mad respect for Salvatore. He admitted his mistakes and took the consequences like a man.

I just looked him up after hearing about his heart condition, the way he turned it around (after 3 heart attacks!) is amazing.

It's so satisfying knowing that Christina goes on to win seeing all those D tier chefs that went down in a ball of flame laughing at her
I think Nilka's last service kinda demonstrates why Jay ended up as one of Ramsay's souschefs, he's really trying to help her out.
Also explains why he made regular appearances on Bar Rescue!
Gotta respect the fact that he doesn't put up with strategic or personal votes. You choose the worst chefs, or Gordon will. The voting is almost as much a test as anything.
Its mostly because the first season was steamrolled by a guy who basically only voted strategically/worked against his own team in order to win, so Gordon locked down on it hard after that.

How did Jeff make it to Hell's Kitchen, then?
The first season didn’t have a requirement of being a professional chef. They just kinda let whoever in.
@@ridleysomeliana-lauer5814I don't think it's a requirement to be a chef either, look at Colleen. They choose some people with not so prestigious qualifications probably to have some easy eliminations and maybe some drama like with jeff
@@vdd1001 they made it a requirement after a few seasons, I can’t remember which but I know you have to be a chef to be on the show now.

Im so glad Ramsey let Ji keep the jacket, even though normally they return them. He KNEW how amazing she is, and wanted her to have a symbol that she DID NOT FAIL. He was so proud of her and felt so bad, you can see it in his eyes.
Joseph is the funniest elimination I've ever seen. "Watch the step"
He can speak for himself, but he knows who he is.
I love how kind Gordon can be to those who are truly trying but just cannot continue.
I gained so much respect for ramsey when he didnt even flinch when that contestant got in his face
Proper Glaswegian
he’s a black belt in karate lol he wasn’t scared of joseph
The security was protecting him from Gordon
Its not the first and most defenitely not the last time.
Fact of the matter is that there are still people praising joseph for this. As sad as that may be
He's very fit. Black belt aside, he knows how to street fight from his upbringing. But he is soft centred
Ji really made me almost cry with how much of an honorable exit it was. ugh i love this show
Poor Nilka. "No chef don't say that please!". And that poor wet floor sign, that thing didnt deserve it
The blue team giving Ji a standing ovation made me cry.. I love her❤
It just occurred to me that Joseph never paid attention to why his team nominated who they did that's why he responded like that💀
Was just noticing his pupils. Dude was on some hard drugs.
I wonder if Ramsay covers the medical bills for the contestants. It wouldn’t be surprising tbh seeing as when he’s not on service he’s an absolute generous sweetheart
The Brooklyn tough guy act was comedy gold.
It deeply annoys me that Corey was so pissed at Christina for treating her like a dumb blond, but was completely ready to do that very thing to Christina and everyone else in her way… I get that it’s a contest but the game doesn’t end when you win, and Corey throwing people under the bus is not leader beahavior
💯. I'll bet she burned with jealousy when Christina won.
Ji getting a standing ovation always makes me tear up and i dont know why its just so wholesome
In some of these eliminations it just shows how nice of a person Gordon real is
Especially with ji ❤
He hated Josh, J and Louie though 😂
Ji leaving, was super emotional, but very courageous. The standing ovation was really cool too
“It’s still better than what’s standing in front of us even at half power” she’s not wrong cause she gave it her all as hard as she could with the pain included
Looking back and see how much talent and spirit Ji had. Her leaving was so sad because if with no accident, she could get the black jacket.
You can tell when Gordon doesn’t agree with the people who are nominated to be eliminated. He looks disappointed like it’s clearly not them that are the issue 😂
It's somewhat disconcerting just how many contestants have had major medical issues whilst filming this show.
exactly my thoughts
I'm surprised they let Ji work on a sprained ankle and then was applauded for it, like she had to wheel herself out how could they expect her to work the next day on that foot
Ji absolutely kicked ass. Bravo to her, and I wish her nothing but the bestnd hope she is doing well today.
Ji was asked back but I think she declined. She's a talented chef, she didn't need HK to be successful anyway
Carrie was weak anyway
Jim saying cooking meat is a "primal instinct" that men have made me laugh, ngl. Bro what XD
Cooking is a learned skill, just like anything else.
Yeah that sorta stuff really annoys me lol, just makes me cringe when i see that clip
I don’t think he actually believes that, I think it was just a kind of a joke
Hunting or seeking food is a primal instinct. So while cooking itself might not be instinctual, the desire for safer, more nutritious food likely is.
I feel like I could be completely unaware of the concept of seasoning and have the ingredients needed for it and still manage to figure that out
Josh may have been one of the worst black jackets of all time, but I will always give him credit for having a reasonable, respectful reaction to the sheer rage that Gordon gave him.

I said this on another video re: Joseph's elimination that I think is relevant this comment:
The reason Gordon wanted Joseph to not only name the elimination candidates, but also give reasons for why, is because he expects even the people who are safe/staying to understand, and be able to articulate, why a person is up for elimination/cannot be allowed to remain. When Joseph kept refusing to give reasons why his teammates were being sent home, not only was it cocky and disrespectful of him, it's also him refusing to actually explain what they had done wrong. If it's so obvious, and "they know what they did", he should also know, and have no trouble spelling it out.
Ji's is both the saddest and most beautiful elimination. She stood strong and everyone saw that strength
Ji leaving broke my heart as she really powered through, I've so much respect for her and hope she's doing well.
Jeff did what Joseph wanted to do. Just imagine if Raj was there to see Ramsay in action.
@user-qf6ze9kx7xJeff actually confronted Ramsay off camera and injured his ankle in the process

Ji's departure will alwas be iconic, it was heartwarming that she got to kepe her jacket. She really did do her best. No one can take that from her.
Never seen an entire Blue Team clap for a Red member who did phenomenally well and had to leave due to an injury
Ji stole my heart. She is a queen!!
Man if Ji didn't get injured, she would have definitely won. She has so much potential.
Which is exactly why she shouldn’t have set herself up to go. She offered to go, she really didn’t have to and still worked excellent with her injury. She just got herself kicked for guilt and partially her own pridefulness.
Or top 3
Anyone else cry during Robert's part? Just so touching he got the opportunity to join the kitchen once more, after his health issues. I hope hes well to this day, and bet he makes bomb food. I'll be digging for that episode :3
He’s doing well, he’s gotten himself into much better shape :)
He is, from what I know he lost a ton of weight and he also now owns his own restaurant
