  • As the migration away from older 2G and 3G technologies continues, spectrum is being allocated to faster and more efficient 4G and 5G networks. This is creating opportunities for new technologies such as 5G Broadcast and the promise of television and other media content delivered direct to subscribers’ smartphones via 5G cellular networks.
Drawing on information collected by the GSA about the switch-off of 2G and 3G around the world, this 30-minute Snapshot webinar focuses on the number of operators that have already shut down these networks, those in the process of doing so and those planning such a move. It also highlights current disparities between regions and the pace of 2G and 3G network switch-offs.
The implications of this migration are examined in the context of the latest global data on 5G spectrum and network deployments - in particular the status of 5G Standalone and 5G Broadcast services.
Join this webinar to learn more about:
    * The number of operators that have already migrated 2G and 3G networks, those in the process of doing so and those planning such a move
    * Disparities between regions and the pace of 2G and 3G network switch-offs
    * The global status of 5G deployments
    * The commercial availability of devices supporting 5G SA and the spectrum bands seeing the earliest deployment of 5G SA
    * The implications of 2G/3G switch-offs for new technologies such as 5G Broadcast

Their is a need to re-validate the global picture concerning the 2G/3G sunset. Particulary in Nigeria where it is marked "completed". As at today, no operator have concluded the shut down of these legacy technologies, though this might be planned. Kindly investigate and re-validate this submission. Thanks
