I will never understand why most gamblers will keep pumping money into a machine that is clearly dead. I sometimes do it myself…but wow. If we all could just stop doing such! If a machine seems dead…run!!

It’s because nobody knows when the machine hits! That’s why it’s called gambling.✌️
But we as slot players also know that there are often times we just sit down to a machine and it is paying out great…and often. We know there are hot machines and cold machines…or more precisely…times when machines are hot or times when machines are dead cold. So if we have a choice…which we do…why would we continue to sit at a machine, shoving money into it, darn well knowing that it’s likely to continue to do as it has been doing. Of course there is always a chance it could go hot…but it hasn’t yet. It seems the smart play is to get up and move to find a machine that is not so dead. I think the reason we do such is because we have the mistaken belief that we are “owed”…that it “has to get good soon”…and “will surely give us most of the money we put into it”…all of which are just untrue.
I think there is a term for it…”gambler’s fallacy”…or something similar.
