I like how there was a comment in chat saying they miss the editor showing what card the thing with the stuff is, and then the editor actually managed to translate that into cultist
Very similar logic vis a vis MMR return on decisions in Poker. In the top 20% of players, the cash % is around 16%, but for the top 1% of players it is closer to 12%. This is because making decisions that maximise your ability to be in a better position later in the tournament results in more LATE finishes, in poker this being the final table cashes which are worth considerably more. In Battlegrounds it's MMR score, more 1st and 2nd place finishes compared to 3rd and 4th.
I know undeads are bad right now, shady, but it triggers me everytime you forget undead has synergy with amalgams. Keep one grave robber in hand, multiply your amalgam with reborn and poison! You don't need to bramble urzul if you have 10 scams in your board (chess set with 2 reborn amalgam is 8 in 2 units) Undeads are thrash, but they enable really cool plays with amalgams
Cultist definitely brings back amalagm with venomous because it has it naturally. It wouldn't if it was a buff, so it won't have reborn or divine shield.
@@DanteKrystalyou got it wrong. Just think of the new dragon that reborns. That's what cultist is. If that doesn't clarify, think like this: cultist works just like a reborn. But instead of reviving with base stats, changed HP to 1, it revives with all stats modification. In fact, prior to the cultist changed that it wouldn't work. You see, amalgam would lose poisonous, then die, and then cultist would revive this amalgam that had lost poisonous. This change is so that you can't give poisonous/divine shield/reborn to an amalgam and have it revived with cultist. But when that unit has that effect naturally, it will keep it, because cultist spawns a base copy of the card. In simple operational terms: if you want reborn in this card, cultist also works with it
@@DanteKrystal I kind of look at it like, it brings back the minion golden or non, then gives it the stats it had when it died. If the minion has venom natively, it will when it is resummoned, much like phalanx won't come back with venom.
Tried a similiar strategy and got top 2 with it. Utilized Kangor's apprentice to resummon my amalgam. Grabbed a trinket to resummon my first summoned mech for a round and found out it was bugged and the resummoned amalgam doesn't have venomous with that trinket. Still a pretty good scam board with 8 or so amalgams summoned.
Another proof that chess set shouldn't be in the game. The devs don't know how to take the L and just get rid of it like they did with the cheese wheel.
The issue is having an amalgam with poison that can easily get a permanent reborn, you could achieve an even stronger board without the trinket, you just need kelthuzad
Imo the problem is still demons being overtuned. In this lobby, if someone played undead they would have absolutely destroyed shady but demons pushes players out of other tribes
Anvil would be my guess or a gold related trinket . I haven't played much this season. I'm right at a floor, though, so I'll give this a whirl and try to remember to come back with the results.
So, I sold all my minions, emptied my hand, and spent all my gold. I got offered, Holy Mallet, Innkeeper's Stein, Token of the Old Gods and Azeroth Model Globe.
you could have eight poisons by staying on four and getting two reborn hands and then hit the amalgam with the three drop undead copy and then give both reborn and copy with chess set
except specifically with the choice to keep the 3/4 you are against first place who is playing demons with rewinder trinket and an econ hero power that synergises. If they didn't overcompensate in positioning to play around amalgam then you either die or take 7/8/9 , disabling the ability to BUY rewinder with the 3/4 on board. the MMR saving option was not the 3/4 given the information you had. You go on to talk about probabilities and playing multiple units down I don't see how you saw it as a favourable angle. going below 15 HP for a play is going all in, going from 10->7 puts you in 'one bad hit' kill range. The wild part is only 2 of your outs are demons from that position (t5 eater and maybe triple imp) and they aren't even the good ones. The chatter was wrong because 'bigger number better' isn't strictly correct as you said, but also you were wrong because there is essentially within 1 turn from that spot only 2 possible ways to scale with that demon: win the round, take less than 7. From there your next demon HAS to be rewinder.
15:00 Walk into the pub like "what up, I got a big comp", nah I'm just pumped - Got a scam board with 6-shots. Res on the board, it's so damn spicy - Demons like "damn, that's my whole board gone G"
I'm sad with BGs right now. I really love this ideas and evaluations, but on my own gameplay i do that and don't feel a return for a good play or well executed play pattern. For my buddies it's the same thing, so we are quitting BGs for now... Sadly it's a good patch and mechanic overall. Just can't stand playing it. 😐
Idk I cannot feel bad for demon players. I know it is the best and it is the go to if you wanna win, but with this logic so is scam. No remorse for either this meta.
Shady: Don't try to force a card be adaptive and play what you get.
Also Shady: Deathrolling for Rewinder.

Had to read three times to understand what you meant. "The thing with the stuff"? :)
not being recommeded shady because i watched all the videos only to refresh for a new video feels good

Man Mulan was such an amazing movie, we still have the vhs (and no way to play it)
There are new/cheap vhs players and vhs to digital converters. Idk where you are from but should be relatively easy to get one.
Best disney imo

I came in expecting a Graverobber + Prosthetic Hand combo with Amalgam.
Gotta say. You got lukcky this time your comp countered all the demons everyone was running
Not really. It's pretty likely that if demons are in everyone is forcing them if they aren't a tribe specific hero.
Cultist definitely brings back amalagm with venomous because it has it naturally. It wouldn't if it was a buff, so it won't have reborn or divine shield.
Yeah, that’s what I’d think too. It’s not like Cultist summons “without any traits”, just without enchantments besides stats.
Okay, but the thing says "Bring it back with its maximum stats", so that excludes other effects.
@@DanteKrystal No, it doesn't. Only ones that you've given it. I agree the wording is confusing though.

Hearthstone devs have never been good at correcting obvious mistakes
I mean this strat just loses to anything with tokens or reborn its just that demons are weak to this type of scam.
Imo the problem is still demons being overtuned. In this lobby, if someone played undead they would have absolutely destroyed shady but demons pushes players out of other tribes
lol just say you are bad and do not like interesting boards or thinking
Awesome, played a similar strategy just last week.
Has anyone run a test for what you're likely to get offered if you sell all the minions on your board before your trinket turn?
8th place

I did win twice with Curator and double Chess Set, easy bad game into a win
Chess set enables a stupid board state to win? Say it ain't so

When you almost die, it's not a good example for free mmr
amalgam has venomous by default, it would be resummoned with venomous.
curator loses hard to beast or undead. this wont ever happen in game for you.

What is your MMR? (Running a quick survey)
Around 5500 here because I only force builds😅
You guys actually play the game ?
4000. just started battlegrounds recently and honestly have no clue what is normally going on.
