One note i forgot to add, to make more mercury take 9 mercury drops and craft them into a bottle of mercury. 9 drops is 900mb but one bottle is 1000mb, so you can get an extra 100mb if you want
Oh boy that looks fun... I love RBMKs but they also scare me so much. I sure hope balefire RBMK isnt necessary for progression to some of the endgame shit cause I do *not* wanna fuck with that.
Um im not 100% sure about this and it might be different in 1.12.2 but regular steam is much better than the ultra compressed steam. Specifically, regular steam is generated at a much lower temperature which keeps the reactor cooler, allowing you to further extend the control rods. Also don’t worry about the power output. I’m pretty sure it’s the same regardless of which steam you use.
That button is a non emergency scram shutdown button. But the reactor was already in a run away power excursion, the graphite tips of the control rods caused a power spike and the rest is history.
@@eagilejin no but i know the Chernobyl part, im asking in this reactor design in this mod, like, if the az-5 button works like I think it does is full insert all control rods, how could that cause the reactor to explode in game?
also wasn't most of the control rods fully out when the az-5 button was pressed? in this design they are mostly inserted so how does inserting them even more cause an explosion
Tbh I have no idea how much you know about flux but basically fuel will emit flux and heat compared to the amount of flux they recieve. Control rods normally block flux between fuel rods. When inserting, they will briefly let flux through, causing heat to spike. I suppose they let more flux through on the spike than when they were removed, meaning they briefly have a retraction over 20%. Those fuel rods are highly volatile so any extra retraction has an exponential effect.
yep that's what happens when you use multiple balefire fuel rods that are reacting on each other. (this occurs in this design) and what you said about letting flux through when dropping the rod is entirely true
try pulling out the inner and outer control rods to only 10% at the start (If that still causes it to blow up check that you used the right parts, ex: using regular control rods instead of moderated ones If that still doesn't work, try checking to see if the boilers have full water and that the full turbine setup is working) One last question, did it blow up when you placed the first rod in the reactor, or when you placed a rod while the reactor had other rods inside already?
In 1.12.2, the freezer is ineffective as most columns will always be above the threshold for the cooling to start, so it will always be cooling. (the fuel rods run at like 1000C, which is hard to cool down with cryogel)
The reactor design probably wont work because balefire seems have to different stats on 1.7.10(melting point is 8000c on 1.12 extended, but only like 3000c on 1.7), so it will probably explode
In theory the moderators aren't required, but i was too lazy to test the reactor without them. Also i'm not too sure, but i think they help with power production and heat distribution
depends on what kind of rod, but most of the other "safer" rods should work fine. (but you'll have to fiddle with the control rods to get maximum efficiency)
I'm risking my hardcore world to build this reactor it was successful until i heard loud explosion and that how i lose my hardcore world. Last Geiger counter at 43697 RAD/s

First time hearing of the mod, haven't even played minecraft in a while, but damn that's a good tutorial.
Try it out. It's pretty great, though a little overwhelming at first.
yeah probably the best mod I've ever played, especially in survival
Imma build this one just to see it explode😮
ight same here
balefire and digamma RBMKs are arguable some of the coolest looking meltdowns in the whole mod
@@RedVRCC yep
Don't press AZ-5? Yeah I know, we all remember what happened last time some pushed that button.
Chernobyl reference.
Yeah
And the fact its loaded with balefire?
...better call littlepip and crew for that!
Nah it's safe unless nearly all the rods are fully pulled out, then it can create the positive scram effect
Im sure littlepip is smiling in joy at the fact balefire is finally used for good

When I placed the balefire fuel rods the Reactor did some very funny business

Haven't been able to test this, but you are probably right
He went to gmod reloading animations to Minecraft building lmao
Awesome design, do you have one for diagamma fuel?
I don't have one on diagamma fuel, i'll work on it when i get back from break in a few weeks
How or where to install the 1.12.2 NTM?
perhaps this is a stupid question but why exactly does the az-5 button make the reactor explode

why my reactors blown when I place balefire rod?
did you have control rods and steam channels in your reactor?
@@Penguin_Dude1 yes. i follow all your instructions
what version of ntm are you using

Put some emergency freezers and cryogel with a valve so you can freeze it in the it starts to dyatlov

Why do you have graphite moderators around the middle? It’s gonna be absorbed anyway

steam channel ahh reactor [too many steam channels]

I hate that yall place glass on the fuel rods i am just sticking without the glass

You should've built it in creative first
Hi
Uhmm my reactor explode
do not play the 1.12 version, play the 1.7.10 one
If i make new videos about hbm's i will probably be using the 1.7 version
the music is disracting
then mute your audio
