I'm mid 40's and came here just to show some support for Tom Parker. His brain tumor is terminal. Im hoping to start a comment section here for his strength and we'll being. Post some kindness please. Be strong. You and your family are in our hearts Tom Parker. Screw that cancer! Give it hell! But don't let it steal even one day from you. Live everyday to the fullest. Enjoy every moment with your family. These will be trying days. Memories are the only thing we really have. Leave some good ones! Best wishes!

The Wanted was an important part of my life growing up. It was a before and after in my life and seeing the news of Tom breaks my heart. I just hope all this passes soon and he can continue to enjoy his family and us his life.

I had never heard of this band before. I just read the article on the passing of Tom Parker and decided to listen and watch him in his healthy days. It's always sad to hear someone passing of any illness. It's especially sad when they are as young as he was, 33. Too young to go. May his family and friends find peace knowing he 8s no longer in pain. 😔🙏🏼

I find it weird just be remembering a faint childhood memory on a trip, I dig up a whole mine of lost memories.
At the age of 13 I listened to this like I was going to heaven, on long road trips abroad with my school to france, on silent motrways in the coach, with my head against the seat window, gazing into the sky.
But romantisising the past is always a road to sadness, so I take it with a smile and another stride. Because the darkness in our hearts will never vanquish, as long as you ignore it.

Over 10 years old and this slaps harder than most mainstream music now
This was the very first song I heard by The Wanted featured on one of the iconic Now That's What I Call Music albums (I can't remember which one). I particularly remember this one, Glad You Came and Walks Like Rihanna (both of which I heard on the radio) as well as a few others like Chasing the Sun and Gold Forever with the butterflies. I have never seen them live but the song lyrics really struck me, it communicated our day-to-day lives in the world--even everything that we take for granted, that was what stood The Wanted out above all the rest, their songs were lyrically and melodically genuine, descriptive and timeless. I am so shocked about what happened to Tom Parker, I really believe he was the man who pinned everyone in the band together with his natural interpretation of the lyric. Everything just happened so, so quickly and I think that focusing on the touring just made him relax so much more, it was a comfortable atmosphere to be in as he could just focus on delivering the songs and be right in the moment. Alcoholism is one thing, but cancer just robs your life and career--I have no words at all!!! So much energy and incomparable bravery, I almost had a lump in my throat when he cried about his diagnosis--just gone too young!!!
