The bundles on the new catalog items used to be slightly discounted too. Not anymore.

The announcement of these changes was horrendous with leadership being in Cancun and just dropping it on the workstation. I don't agree with the cut to commission from the bottom tier. It doesnt motivate me to sell more, in fact, I will be spending less. If all the hobbyist consultants do the same then what would that do to their profits? I guess only time will tell. I agree with everything you said about the changes. I’m a hobbyist myself and joined in 2019. It never sat right with me that we had to pay for our own websites. If Scentsy really wanted us to grow the business those would be free. We’ll see how things go this year! If I lose my consultant status I see a lot more vendor wax in my future!
I have been an Avon Lady for going on 19 years and we had a major shift in our business/compensation structure this year and we are all adjusting as well. I'm the same as you - I love Avon products and that is why I am staying patient with changes and navigating as best I can. I think the whole direct selling industry is going through a shift and trying to figure out what the future looks like. Very informative, detailed, unbiased review of the upcoming changes. Your ability to get across obvious disappointment without accusations and also without any glossing over and brushing away anybody else’s concerns, which seem to be all very similar. Unless you are a dedicated MLM cheerleader and apologist, which you clearly are not, and that honestly and transparency speaks to honor and builds trust.

Thank you for adding your thoughts!! I had thought of the impact of the popularity of clubs on buying habits but had not connected that to a decline in the party model, but that makes absolute sense. These recent changes gave me the feeling that they were pushing people more towards buying through clubs because they are making party rewards less desirable BUT at the same time they are saying we need to go back to focusing on having parties. My biggest concern is that they are not making smart business decisions and that we will eventually lose Scentsy altogether😢. I hope I am wrong.
I think scentsy is on its way out eventually, they got a spike in sales with the license warmers and wax but people are over it and don’t want them, also the quality has gone down, I miss the scentsy warmers that were all ceramic now most of the warmers are made of tin and glass, I still buy with a flash sale other then that I won’t buy, let’s be real, you can buy warmers and wax from places like Walmart with a fraction of the cost and no shipping……thank you for sharing your home I always love seeing the seasonal changes❤️

Do you remember during the “hyper growth” period when they were actually “helping” the consultants more and offering more “deals” etc to keep the momentum going in what could have been a period of decline like it was for so many businesses? Great video as always. I think no one likes change so there is a lot of anxiety about the upcoming ones for Scentsy. For me the only one that is really bothering me is the commission change for months that orders do not meet the set threshold, because a)that was not the agreement I made, and b)I fear the threshold will continue to increase.

Whatever works best for you and your situation. I’m not a consultant so most things do not affect me personally. I do pray for all of you my friends! I wonder if they will go to "host deals" like 31 used to where they offer a specific product at a discounted price. They kind of started that with the diffuser specials as on OPTION for a half price item.
Re: the flash sale. Yes, the timing is suspect 😂. I did grab a few things, particularly a stack of the Coco bars. I really like the scent and have it in my club. I decided to buy 10 bars for that great price and take it out of my club.
For me the flash sale started at 11am & I liked this time better than in the past it being at 1pm. I got 2 warmers & a bunch of other items. I thought the prices were good on a lot of things. I was trying not to go to overboard, since I have quite a bit of wax & other items. The flash sale was a win win for me. I'm only a customer & for me, with the changes, I'm on a wait & see. If it doesn't affect me much then I'll keep buying if it does than I can go elsewhere. I know the warmers are more expensive than most other places, but I just think Scentsy warmers are nicer to look at. Also I really don't need more.
They are losing business that’s why they have these super sales and changes being made. There are many different options for home fragrance. Not just Scentsy. One of their biggest downfalls was “Scentsy club” to me it’s a way to force people to purchase their favorites.
I think it would have gone over better if they just raised prices. But...everything, other than the wax, is already way over-priced: warmers, laundry, pods, etc. No matter what, this is one big, sorry mess!

I love your perspective on this. 🩷 Thank you for speaking frankly and not drinking the Scentsy Koolaid. 😂 My uplines posted a video after the changes were announced that really rubbed me the wrong way. They said, “If you as a consultant don’t make a big deal about it, then there’s just not a big deal to be had.” 😳🤯 These are also people who rely on Scentsy as their only form of income, so I understand why they’re trying to spin it as if it’s no big deal. However, like you, I signed up as a hobbyist. I feel like Scentsy is attempting to phase out the hobbyists by implementing these new changes. I also agree with you that it feels unethical to change the contractual commission rate after promising a 25% commission. It really gives me the ick. Scentsy always promoted a family-like culture based on honesty and integrity. I think they’re stepping away from that and that’s sad to see. 🥺

Disney can really be a huge issue… huge problem…. We live in Florida, they have problems.
